Cristiano Ronaldo’s stoppage-time penalty saved holders Real Madrid from a stunning Champions League exit against Juventus, the holders progressing 4-3 on aggregate after a night of high drama at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Juve seemed set to match the heroics of fellow Serie A side Roma against Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico 24 hours earlier after surging into a 3-0 lead in the Spanish capital, only for Lucas Vazquez to draw a foul in the box and Ronaldo to settltle the contest from the spot.

For the second time in 2 years, Eric Many, the record label that signed Nigerian pop star, Runtown has filed an injunction at a Federal High court against the singer for breach of contract.
According to a mail sent by Eric Many to Us, the entertainment company served Runtown the court papers with Suit No: FHC/L/CS/267/2018 a few days back with a statement that partly reads:

Runtown has been deliberately breaching his contract with us (Eric Many) for a while and despite our many appeals to him he has refused to bulge.


He went for a show in Las Vegas since January 13th, 2018 and has since decided to withdraw all obligations of his contract.

He has steadily been recording an album without the consent and approval of his record label.

According to the statement of claim filed at the Federal High Court by Eric Many:

A Recording Agreement was made between the Plaintiff and the Defendant dated 22nd June 2016, the copyright and other intellectual property and cognate rights and legal positions and protections applicable to all works done by the Defendant during an initial period of two years covered by the Agreement, is vested in the Plaintiff.

The Plaintiff will rely on a copy of the said Recording Agreement at trial. 7. Under the Agreement, parties recognize and acknowledge the sum of N114,456,670.00 (One Hundred and Fourteen Million, Four Hundredand Fifty Six Thousand,Six Hundred and Seventy Naira) as “Prior Investment”, representing the sum invested by the Plaintiff into the development of the Defendant’s musical works and records under the defunct ‘Artiste Agreement’, precursor to the ‘Recording Agreement”.......................

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all police officers attached to political office holders, VIPs and prominent individuals in the country.
The police chief gave the order when he spoke at the monthly meeting with Commissioners of Police and other top police officers in Abuja today March 19th. According to Idris, the move is aimed at enhancing effective and efficient policing of the country.

“A Task Force has been constituted at the Force headquarters under the Command of ACP Mohammed Adamu Dan Kwara to ensure compliance to this directive while the Command CPs are to replicate same at their various commands. However, business entreprenuers, multi-national organizations, corporate individuals and entities that require such services and are found to be worthy will be considered from the Special Protection Unit of the Nigerian Police Force on application for re-validation through states commissioners of police where they are resident or domiciled. The Commissioners of Police are to profile and recommend, if such applicants merit the services for approval. By so doing, I am charging the Commissioners of Police with the responsibility of supervising such official deployment and thereby holding them accountable” the memo reads.................

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has said that jailing any professional responsible for collapsed building would serve as deterrent and prevent reoccurrence.
Fashola made this assertion in Abuja when he appeared on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) flagship programme, NAN Forum. “How many professionals have been jailed for collapsed building? Once you jail a professional in the same way you sanction a medical officer for negligence of conduct with regard to his patients or a legal practitioner with regard to his clients. Then you have sent the clearest message that those who build houses for people owe a duty of care to ensure that they build according to approved design and specifications. And that the approved design standard are also followed to the letter, you don’t short-changed your materials,” he said.

The minister stated that there must be consequences when people violated the National Housing Code, adding that it was not the responsibility of the ministry rather a law enforcement that could assist us. Speaking on affordable housing, he recalled that the board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) were recently inaugurated to boost it................

Jesse Lingard’s penchant for the big occasion brilliantly tipped the balance for Manchester United against title-holders Chelsea as the Reds reclaimed second place in the Premier League table.


United's no.14 headed in the 75th-minute winner at Old Trafford, connecting with a cross by Romelu Lukaku who had earlier cancelled out the Blues' opener by Willian to square the match at 1-1 for half-time. It was a masterstroke by Jose Mourinho to bring on Lingard, the scorer of FA Cup and EFL Cup final goals for the club, and the susbtitute had the scent for glory again only 12 minutes after coming on.

The Reds were in danger of allowing Antonio Conte’s side to draw level in the table and tighten up the battle for the coveted top four berths. But instead the stubborn Reds refused to fold after going a goal down and ultimately restored the longstanding state of play in the league.


Both sides had returned to Champions League football in midweek following the Euro winter break with United playing in Spain against Sevilla 24 hours after Chelsea had drawn with the might of Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

Alexis Sanchez is less than a month and only six games into his Manchester United career, but enthusiasm surrounding his arrival from Arsenal diminished almost as quickly as the commercially driven tweets that announced it.
