I started dating this guy about 13 months ago and we've been getting on very fine. He says he loves me and I also love him, he is not the protocols/traditional way kind of guy. He's not proposed officially to me like every other girl would love to be proposed to but we've started making plans of our future together. I've met his family and he mine and everything seems to be moving just fine. We started talking about our marriage 4 months ago and he told me he doesn't want to do the traditional marriage in a big way, that he'll just pay my bride price and every other traditional dues settled and we just do court marriage and celebrate our church wedding in the average Nigerian's way, though I've always wished to celebrate both the traditional and white weddings but I agreed to his plan. Our proposed wedding is 6 months away and he's telling me again just a week ago that he's just ok with settling the traditional rites and just court wedding, that white wedding is just a waste of resources. I've pleaded with him but he is still insisting /we both are active Christians/. I'm really confused on whether to give in once again to this or stand my grounds even if it means losing him.
