7 TIPS TO MAKE EXTRA CASH IN SCHOOL There are tons of ways students can earn while in school but a major determining factor in your financial growth is your location. A blooming business in FUTO might not last a month in another school and vice versa. This is post is an eyeopener to the lucrative ways students are currently making it in FUTO. 1. Learn A New Skill: Take that web development class; Attend the bead making, interior designs and interior designs workshop; Computer operation lessons is not a waste of time.... It is not limited to only such clean jobs, skills like carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc are also very lucrative as these services are in high demand. 2. Scholarships and Grants: A lot of companies, organizations, associations and even Government offer scholarships and grants to students that meets its criteria. Securing scholarships and grants is now a must-do for almost every student. Some students are able to secure as much as 5 different scholarships and some, even more. Some popular scholarships include; NNPC/CHEVRON, TOTAL, MTN FOUNDATION and AGBAMI scholarships. 3. Business Networks: Another means of making extra cash on campus trending now is by participating in business networks both online and offline. There are number of them now and students can register to make extra cash monthly, weekly or on task completion depending on the company. Examples of such networks include: MMM Nigeria, Trevo, EBN, etc Read an earlier post for more info on business network: Online Business Networks. 4. Monetize Your Talent: Why keep those God given talents to yourself, why not do what you love doing and still make money. Talents like Moderating, Presenting,Artistic sketching and painting, Singing, Dancing, etc never seize to drag major traffic. 5. Student Partnership/Ambassadorship: Here, students can apply to be ambassadors of big companies(foreign and indigenous). Ambassadors are representatives of the organizations on campus. They carry out tasks like publicity, event organization, etc for the companies. Most times these companies offer more than just cash benefits. Other benefits they offer include: connect their ambassadors to the big boys of their field, access to products, resources and souvenirs, exposure and subjection to workshops. To become ambassadors, students have to meet up to criteria set up by the organization and most time special skills and leadership abilities are required. Some popular student partnership programs include: Microsoft student partnership, Unilever Student Ambassadors, Google Student Ambassador, Andela Student Ambassador Program, Intel Students Partnership 6. Agency: Similar to #5, students acts as agents for local or indigenous businesses and groups carrying out minor tasks for the organizations they work for. Low standards, expectations and criteria are expected from students. There are little or no benefits apart from cash benefits. Some businesses that recruit student agents include: Transport companies, Stores, Supermarkets and hotels, Lottery and betting organizations, etc. Land and Property owners also recruit student agents. 7. Start Your Dream Business: This is coming last because it is the most technical. Students in FUTO have proven to be dream-chasers talking bold steps to launch businesses they think would flourish. Though this is the most lucrative and personally, my most recommended, it is not for everyone. High perseverance and determination is required for sustenance. Before venturing into this, you a should have a clear plan on how your business would be operated, financed and scale. Also your idea has to be a solid one for reasonable returns. Some lucrative businesses currently on campus : Deezey Media, Finklon foods, Excel's place, RapidChow among others. * source: http://insidefuto..com.ng/2016/10/7-tips-to-make-extra-cash-in-school.html
