The Novel Coronavirus has done more harm than good all over the world. It has put a lot of casual activities to a stop.

It has affected Businesses, Schools, Churches, Mosques, and lots of other activities.

However, Some of the lockdown directives are being eased in some parts of the states in Nigeria despite the massive spread of the Coronavirus daily.

Yesterday, Nigeria had recorded 245 new cases of Coronavirus making it a total of 7261.

The Federal Government has ordered the reopening of Churches and all other religious activities and Rumors has started circulating that Schools are to follow suit in Two weeks' time.

Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba who is the Minister of State for Education has reacted to the speculations going around. He also revealed plans of reopening of Schools are being made by the Federal Government already but it wouldn't be in two weeks' time yet.

During the Daily Presidential Taskforce briefing on Thursdays, Nwajiuba mentioned that the Federal Government has not fixed an exact date for when school will be open just yet.

He thereby advised the general public to shun all misleading news going round especially on social media and wait to get legitimate information from the Federal Government.

The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina has revealed that there will be no presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today as scheduled earlier.

He made this know on his twitter handle where he said;

No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps.

Health experts have warned recovering COVID-19 patients to avoid sex for 30 days or risk spreading the virus since evidence has now proven that the virus can spread through semen.

Some researchers from Shangqiu Municipal Hospital took semen samples from 38 male coronavirus patients in China’s Henan province, and after careful analysis found out that 16% of the men had traces of the virus in their semen.




Aside from semen, coronavirus can also be found in respiratory particles, which means kissing could also be off the cards.

According to a report by The Mirror, Veerawat Manosutthi, a senior medical expert at the Thai Disease Control Department, advised that patients who have overcome COVID-19 should avoid getting intimate for 30 days, he even went ahead to warn them against kissing. He said;

“Those who believe themselves to be free of the virus should use condoms when having sex. Kissing should also be avoided as it is also known that it can spread through the mouth.“

Another doctor, Dr. Simran Deo, a UK-based doctor at Zava UK, also said:

”Conditions like coronavirus are spread through water or mucus droplets from the nose and mouth containing the virus. So things, like kissing, shaking hands, sharing food, and drink with someone, put people at an increased risk of passing on the infection.”

A man has been declared wanted for sexually assaulting his wife and gluing her private part with super glue after accusing her of infidelity on Saturday, May 16.

The police in Tharaka South Sub-County in Kenya said the suspect first persuaded his wife to move from their Marimanti township home, fearing that he would be arrested after having traveled from Nairobi where there is a lockdown.

Approaching Kathiata River, the man threatened to kill his wife and ordered her to strip naked. The wife did not comply with the husband's request and he started loading her with blows while threatening to stab her with a knife in his hand.

The police read in part;

“They both went and on reaching River Kathita, he ordered her to remove all her clothes so that she may tell him all the men she had slept with while he was at Nairobi."

Kiprop Rutto who is the Tharaka south police commander reported that the suspect went as far as adding pepper, salt, and onions in his wife's private part using a knife, before applying superglue mixed with sand to seal it off.

He also used the superglue on her ears and mouth before taking to his heels.

The woman managed to drag herself to Marimanti Police Station where she reported the hideous act done to her by her own husband.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital where she is being attended to.

Mr. Rutto added that the suspect is a known criminal in the region who is being sought by the police for various crimes.

Police said they have launched a manhunt to seize and charge him in court.

Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has claimed that Chioma‘s engagement ring to Davido has been taken away from her.

Madame Olunloyo took to her Twitter page recently to ask for an explanation of why the chef’s engagement ring was taken from her, giving the impression that the ring which the singer used to engage the mother of his son, months back was taken by him.

Asking her followers if any of them know the reason why the engagement ring was taken from Chioma, she wrote

Madagascar’s herbal drug which is said to cure Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been sent to Nigeria and other African countries.

Nigeria’s consignment has reportedly been sent to Equatorial Guinea from where it will be airlifted to Abuja.

Various countries were grouped together to ensure smooth delivery with Nigeria partnered with Equatorial Guinea.

The Federal Government was yet to take a position as of weekend because the AU has mandated its Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) to review the scientific data gathered so far on the safety and efficacy of the COVID Organics.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) last week insisted that the efficacy of the drug was unproven.

According to a source, who spoke in confidence, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has been notified of the offer from Madagascar and arrangements were being made to bring Nigeria’s allocation to Abuja.

The source said:

“The consignments of the drug are being distributed to different countries in Africa based on zonal grouping. We have been told that Nigeria’s consignment is in Equatorial Guinea from where it will be airlifted to Abuja.

“When the herbal drink is brought into the country, we will know the next step. But some medical and scientific organisations are pressurising that the drug be subjected to clinical trial.

“Some countries like Tanzania, Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea have subscribed to the drugs. Also, while South Africa has offered to conduct a scientific analysis of the drug, Senegal said it will subject it to clinical trial.

“I can assure you that the Federal Government will take the best decision on the drug in the overall interest of Nigerians.

“Before any food or drug can be administered in this country, there are certain protocols that must be followed. The government will not circumvent these protocols. We want solution; we want the best for Nigerians.”

On April 28, the Chairman of the PTF on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha said the nation was ready to give Madagascar’s herbal drink a trial.

He said:

“I want to assure you that whatever is happening in the world, we are mindful of it and we are keeping a tab.

“I was reading of the experiences in Madagascar– of why everybody is drinking some solutions that have been prepared. This morning I was sharing with my wife, and I told her that probably I would request that Mr. President allow us import a plane load for a trial.

“We are all navigating an unchartered cause. Nobody has ever been on this road. So, every attempt to find solution that would bring succour to our people, be rest assured that this task force is very responsible and we would do everything to ensure that we get what will benefit our people, what will help them in the processes that we find ourselves today.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is an American rapper has finally revealed why he snitched his fellow gang members to get a lighter sentence.

However, during an Instagram live chat which got over 2 million hits, 6ix9ine address being labeled a snitch after exposing his gang member during the trial.

He debunked people who doubted his loyalty and questioned them about the whereabouts of their loyalty when his gang members were sleeping with his baby mama, beating him up and sharing the video on social media, attempting to kidnap his mother and also calling a rival gang to kill him.

He described himself as a living legend as he pointed out many people who felt it was the end of him after he snitched on his gang members

He added;

“You know why people so mad? Cause they thought it was over for me. They counted me out. Oh, yo, you ratted…it’s over for you. Y’all could never. Y’all could never cooperate with the government and come back. Y’all could never do that. I’m a living legend at the age of 24 years old.”

A young man identified as @femitemade on twitter has revealed how he was made to wash the sum of one hundred thousand naira with bleach and detergent after he went to withdraw the money from the ATM.

According to him, his grandparents insisted that he wash thee money, which was in 500 hundred naira notes in Hypo bleach and detergent due to the fear of the coronavirus.

In his post he said;

"I WENT TO THE ATM TO WITHDRAW N100K THIS MORNING AND MY GRANDPARENTS INSISTED I WASH THE MONEY WITH HYPO BLEACH AND DETERGENT.

The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has disclosed how long the novel coronavirus will last.

According to him, the coronavirus will be around for a long time as most countries around the world are still at the infant stages of battling the infectious disease.

He also made mention of the progress made in Western Europe in tackling the virus but said there were ‘worrying upward trends’ in early epidemics in part of Africa and central and South America.

Dr. Ryan who is the top emergency expert for WHO has also cautioned against up global travel immediately after the virus.\

A Malawian Pastor, Shepherd Bushiri, also known as Major 1 or Prophet Shepherd Bushiri who is the founded and lead a Christian non-denominational evangelical church known as the Enlightened Christian Gathering has devised a means in wish his member con follow his church services due to the present lockdown situation.

A further Statistic revealed that about six million users watched his live broadcast from Channel TV, YouTube, and Facebook.

After the fire incident earlier today, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters, no sensitive materials were destroyed by the fire.

This was stated by the commission in a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee Mr. Festus Okoye.

The fire outbreak occurred just two days after the Corporate Affairs Commission headquarters had a fire outbreak and a week after the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation caught fire.
Mr. Okoye says that apart from the furniture and equipment, nothing sensitive was destroyed by the fire. He said the fire which was quickly extinguished affected one office in the Election and Party Monitoring Department, which is an annex detached from the main building.

“APART FROM SOME OFFICE FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT, NOTHING SENSITIVE WAS DESTROYED. REPORTS OF PARTY PRIMARIES AND CONVENTIONS ARE INTACT. THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE DATABASE IS ALSO NOT AFFECTED,” OKOYE SAID IN THE STATEMENT.

“THE INCIDENT WILL THEREFORE NOT AFFECT THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL OPERATIONS OF THE COMMISSION IN ANY WAY,” HE SAID ADDING THAT INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THE INFERNO HAS BEGUN.

Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) Rapper, Aboriomoh Femi Raymond also known as Dremo has shocked fans as he disclosed about his sexuality on twitter.

The very first death of a Coronavirus infected patient has been recorded in Lagos state. This was confirmed on Saturday by the Lagos state government.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi revealed the deceased was a 55-year-old who returned from Holland recently.

In a series of tweets, the Commissioner stated that the deceased had underlying ailments like Diabetics and kidney-related issues.

The Commissioner also added that he had a kidney transplant 7 years ago and is also diabetic and did not give his full medical history to the Doctors in order to be able to have guided treatment for #COVID19 related vulnerability due to severe underlying ill-health.
