The Edo State Police Command has recovered little Miss Christabel Omokpia, the two-year old who was sold for N850,000 by an orphanage in Rivers State.

She was recovered in Enugu State, a police source told Igbere TV.

Igbere TV recalls that Christabel and her sister, Amanda, were stolen away from Utesi village in Ovia North-East Local Government Area by two female tenants of their father in June last year.

Their mother, Faith, was said to have left them in the care of the tenants, Mary and Rose, who disappeared with the children to unknown destination.

Christabel, Igbere TV learnt, was first sold for N450,000 by the tenants and she was later re-sold for N500,000 to one Ogechi Favour.

Again, she was re-sold for N850,000 to one Anioke Augustine in Enugu State.

Police sources said she was reunited with her family on Wednesday night.

When contacted by Igbere TV, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said it was the Police Commissioner, Dan-Mallam Abubakar, that ordered for the recovery.

He said the search for Christabel took police operatives from Benin to Delta State, Anambra State, River State, Imo State and Enugu State.

The PPRO said four suspects earlier arrested in connection to the missing children were already in prisons in Ondo and Edo States.

On the whereabouts of Amanda, DSP Nwabuzor said the police would do its best to recover her.

Politics / 2nd Term: Presidency Reveals Those To Be Appointed In Buhari’s Cabinet by LittleBride: 5:14pm On May 23, 2019
The Presidency Wednesday gave an insight into the calibre of people to be appointed as Ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term, Igbere TV reports.

It said the brightest and best of Nigerians are expected to serve in the president’s next cabinet.

Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the president, disclosed this when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television on Wednesday.

He said the cabinet will not only be occupied by members of the ruling party alone, adding that the president will as well accommodate best brains from opposition parties.

Speaking further, Adesina said his principal is currently consulting widely with the leadership of the APC as well with others in order to ensure that he assembles the brightest and best minds in his cabinet.

“Yes, the president has to consult widely, not just limited to the party. Yes, the party will be part of it but he will consult widely. If you look at this cabinet that is exiting, there are lots of non-APC members in it. That means the president will draw members from whichever areas he can find”.

On whether members of other political parties will make the list, Adesina said “The president is going to assemble the brightest and best of Nigerians”.

When asked to assess the performance of the outgoing ministers, Adesina declined saying, “I sit in the cabinet but my principal assembled the cabinet and he is the one who can assess the cabinet and judge them”.

Igbere TV earlier reported on how the president, Wednesday, during a valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, instructed his ministers to handover unfailingly May 28.

The president, who did not immediately dissolve his cabinet, handed down an instruction to the ministers to continue working till May 28.

Politics / Outgoing Gov. Blocks Road To Venue Of Gov-elect’s Inauguration (photos) by LittleBride: 3:49pm On May 23, 2019
Outgoing Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, has been accused of closing down the road leading to MKO Abiola Stadium, venue of the inauguration of Prince Dapo Abiodun as Governor of Ogun State.

He was also alleged to have dug a deep and wide gulley in front of June 12 Cultural Centre, where the inauguration lecture is holding today, on the pretext of road construction.

These allegations were contained in a post by Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye, a member of the inauguration committee.

The statement was obtained by Igbere TV Thursday afternoon from the Ogun Daily Core’s Group Page.

He wrote, “Not done, Amosun left a huge hip of sand and a bulldozer at the entrance. The question is: Would this have happened is it is Amosun’s puppet that is to be inaugurated as Governor?”

However, Yinka Olayemi, a member of the group reacted: “Yes. I told someone yesterday that those attending today’s event will have no choice than to drive through NNPC via Stadium to Cultural Centre.”

“It is over. The outgoing governor can never and never run foul of the Constitution of the country by extending his day in office.”

Also, Femi Oteweso, made another suggestion: “We saw it today too, but we all expressed the opinion that people can take the M.K.O Stadium to access the June 12 Cultural Center for the event.”

Efforts to reach the Governor's Spokesperson for comments were unsuccessful, an impeccable source in his cabinet, however, confirmed the development — but refused to give any details.
