It is shameful they didn't know some basic legal principles in criminal procedures. I waited with sick feelings of suspense to hear them out yet they could not answer the question. Education is not about the school you go but what you have upstairs(brain). UNIBEN WILL ALWAYS BE UNIBEN. I don't care about OAU. Though OAU was my dream school back then and i love the school, but i did not apply there once let alone frustrated to gain admission into OAU.

gmart: I read your comment before and decided to intentionally ignore it. There is no doubt you're being eaten up by the fury of frustration obviously as a result of being turned down by the prestigious University of Benin. A few questions for you; whose prerogative do you think it is to setup governing council for a university? The V.C you think? Are you not aware that the governing council of federal universities were all dissolved by the president and only reconstituted this year including that of OAU you mentioned? You are not an OAU student, infact you've not met the O'Level requirement for university admission yet and rather than listen and learn you comment on issues that are beyond your comprehension. There are 3levels of clearance in UNIBEN, 100,300 & final year outside the fact that there is an electronic portal that holds the details of every student legitimately admitted into the institution. Those who have fake admission know their admission is a fake they just choose to keep on believing a miracle awaits them at the end of the tunnel. Lastly, UNIBEN should be commended for not just making this an inhouse thing, corruption shouldn't just be punished, it should be exposed and that is what the Great Uniben has done.

Nwanze was there, the council was only dissolved with the tenure expiration of the former VC. It was during the search for the current VC when the then acting VC the Deputy VC a Lady Prof. that i can't quite place her name right now was instigating an illegal approach to install herself as the VC then that led to the dissolution of the existing council until the Current Prof. Oshodin came on board as the VC after several lingering tussles. So don't open your wide odoriferous mouth to say what you don't know. And yes UNIBEN is the top university, what about it? Is that what should be bothering you? Or the decadence that has pervaded the Education sector in Nigeria.

Etoosuji: This is long overdue. I congratulate the Council of the University for their decision on these Lecturers. The search light should be beamed on other Universities also. Any Senior Lecturer who has spent more than 4 years without publication in an acceptable international journal should not be promoted. After 6 or 7 years the lecturer should be advised to seek employment somewhere. Admissions into the Universities should be carried out like those of Covenant, Babcock and other computer savvy Institutions, that leaves no room for manipulations.
