Is it not logical to make a show of trials and convictions of these criminals who have killed thousands over the years before embarking on any ruga initiative which would surely be welcomed after the public witnessed the sentencing of those criminals amongst them ?

This affiliation of the tribe to the profession is born out of hate for the president. This group are in category of farmers, accountants, doctors and whatever profession you can mention. If criminals are using the profession to disguise and commit crime, then confining the legitimate ones is the ONLY option in fairness.


Let me give you a layman example. Okada riders have a lot of criminals amongs them that perpetrate evil, should we use that notion to generalize and act? No. We have to create measures to counter the activities of the criminal ones as we being fair to the just ones.

3. How many have been persecuted for the killings of over 15,000 Nigerians by these men? Before you mention any ruga settlement have a open trial and persecution of hundreds of these killers this will bring good will from the general Public .

4. None of these killers have been tried and persecuted and now you want to force a settlement for them in states outside their region? Where do you think that would work? No country on Earth would. Allow that! The current public outcry would happen everywhere. You can't watch people getting killed and raped and later tell them you want to settle the good ones in a ranch when the so called elusive ad ones have not been brought to justice? How would this be accepted.

5. If the government proceeds with this it would lead to a crisis as is happening Mali currently. Until there is a deliberate attempt to show sincerity in tackling those bad ones the entire group will remain estranged to other regions .

6. Again I state in America and other developed countries sex offenders are not given a settlement to stay in to avoid public lynching , no they are sent to jail for their crimes.

The Governor should capitalize on this initiative and completely ban open grazing without clauses.

Benue state police commissioner should be put in loop of development and anyone found straying or wandering should be arrested henceforth. Outside this settlements, No other settle ment for herdsmen should be allowed in state and a database of practicing herdsmen should be maintained by the state government.

1. According to your logic the government is doing this to stop the killings rapes and murders by the herdsmen right ?

2. In America the government does not create a settlement for child sex offenders to stop their activities they send them to jail now the business of ranching and the crimes of the herdsmen are separate how then does this government think by creating a settlement it addresses their crimes ?

Is it only Fulani's that are herdsmen? Stop attributing a crime to a tribe. Their are Okada robbers and their are decent ones. It happens in every industry. Should we say everything in Alaba or Aba is fake because its a hub of piracy.


No price is too expensive for peace to reign and No tribe is important than the other. Manufacturers are giving government loans at discounted interest rate, farmers are giving lands for cultivation at very subsidized rate, Militants are giving amnesty, And investors are wooed with incentives worth more than this.

So if this development will bring peace and draw a boundary, Its highly welcomed.
