Ibime: Bell finally rolled on sweet grandmother yesterday morning, 3 months shy of her 103rd birthday. Though her senior brother was always adamant she was born in 1922 and not 1923 as she claimed, so she may have been 103 already. A great innings for a great woman who spent 60 years of her life adopting and training dozens of children beside her own from her 30s and well into her 90s. I celebrate her life. She must have lived🙏 |

[quote author=OkpaNsukkaisBae post=138255834]ICE on mask thus you don't even their identity whether they're Assasinns or kidnappers. With not less than six armed officers attacking the late Alex Pretti on the ground, there was literally no way he could overpower them. They could easily disarm him and then arrest him. I don't know American laws, but I don't think those who resist lawful arrest should be killed especially ones who have been subdued, literally neutralized. No threat of live whatsoever. He didn't attack ICE, he was just trying to defend an old person who's been attacked by ICE. He no even resist arrest. Person wey dey ground already. How he wan take resist arrest?

TemporaryHansel: Globalism is the order of the day now. Even if you are feeding your ally, political correctness and the way everything is interconnected requires you not to point it.
But some people prefer the traditional days. Globalism has made some strong countries look weak because they want to appear politically correct.
A small country that survive mostly due to your aids will be catching cruise with you and you won't do anything because the whole world is watching due to how advanced social media has become. This is what Trump hates, he wants you to acknowledge you're sh1t without the USA, he doesn't wants to do all that nice speech stuff politicians have been doing in public since the 80s.
80+ years without war has made the world gone soft. Bro what? |

semid4lyfe: I agree with Charles Anazodo.
Nigeria is a dysfunctional, we all know this NFF is inefficient and a clog in the wheel of our football progress, fact!. There is massive corruption in the NFF, true. . Players will always be owed allowances, bonuses, awards, no be today.
But everything we have achieved, every laurel we have ever won in football has been despite the systemic corruption, the poorly run NFF and maladministration of our football.
If money is the players only motivation to play and they cant do it for the honour of the badge and repping Nigeria, then they should reject their invitation to the national team because NFF is notorious for owing, will not pay them as at when due and will always owe. Simple!
Football is a very emotional sport. Nigerians are heavily and emotionally invested in the Super Eagles. People have been sent to their early graves on account of the team's loss. Did we not read about the Nigerian who slumped and died due to the team's loss to Ivory Coast in the last AFCON final? Me, I couldn't eat the night of the 2022 WCQ loss to Ghana, ditto last year's playoff loss to DR Congo. I was irritable and brooded for a week before I got over it.
People lost livelihoods and income because of their non qualification. Brands attached to the team lose money and revenue too. Edafe Mathew Elegbete of Elegbete Sports said the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the Qatar 2022 world cup put him $250,000 in debt.
Their incessant protests at every crunch time has become silly. They protested during the WCQ playoffs, dem jabo. Dem wan play AFCON Q/F against their toughest opponent, they are protesting again. Where is the sense in that? Didnt they learn anything from their last protest? At this point, their protest has become a tool to blackmail and sabotage the country.
Hand don dey pain me so make I put full stop for here but I am glad people are now calling them out now for this nonsense behaviour.
Below is the post I made in the Super Eagles thread on this their AFCON protest. Lol |

semid4lyfe: 🔸Living in Nigeria does not give anyone the monopoly of truth.
🔸Being outside Nigeria does not erase concern or connection.
🔸Living abroad does not disqualify anyone from commenting on the issues facing Nigerians and Nigeria.
🔸Distance no be ignorance. Sometimes it gives clarity and enables people to assess situations better. Person no gats dey inside fire to know say the house dey burn.
🔸Many people abroad still send money home, pay rent, pay school fees, support relatives and feel every policy failure/success through their loved ones.
🔸Even in Nigeria, there are people who support/oppose the current government.
🔸The NL abroadians that support this government do so due to reasons best known to them.
🔸Whether Nigeria-based or Abroadian, support or oppose who you want and stop throwing around labels.
Geographical location does not confer superiority of opinion. I rest my fingers. Actually the opinion is useless when their opinion is to mock when people in the situation are complaining. It's a general rule anywhere. It's like when someone in MB is talking about killings and you are arguing and mocking the reality. See how it's now stupid talk. |

GrammarNazi1: 9 There are well to do people in this country!
Aren't there?
There are well to do people who built businesses here in Nigeria.
There are even employees who have lucrative side businesses in Nigeria.
Some of them had a headstart because they studied a very lucrative course in university.
Some of them, after studying what Ibime would not endorse, had to pivot to a lucrative field.
I know someone who studied Philosophy in the University of Benin, but before even gaining admission, he had known about computer programming/software development and had started learning it. This is someone who finished secondary school in 2007, and had even started learning software development before he left secondary school.
Sometimes I think about how he got to know about software development before 2007 when information was extremely scarce then.
Now, he would always say he needs to know algorithms if he would be able to work in very big organisations (This is growth and realism, not wishful thinking). This is someone who hates everything Nigeria more than you do, because he hates Tinubu, he hates Atiku, he hates Obi, all of them.
This person I'm talking about has been doing remote jobs since more than 3 years now, and he is doing extremely okay.
Change your mindset, Spy.
Lastly, a lot of people are doing extremely okay in Nigeria. Many of them had to do two times or even three times the effort you put in. Lmao those people doing extremely well that don't leave, they are most likely setting up their kids to japa or have already done that sef. But hey 🙏 |

DissTroy: Bosun Tijani? Suegbe? That's a top 5 performing Minister in this government.
That you call Bosun a "suegbe" is proof you're not active in and follow what happens in that space.
Maybe I am biased towards him because he's the only Minister who has so far kept his head low to do his job, interacts with regulars on X to give updates and answer questions, and is always respectful while being innovative.
He lied this time, we agree. Bosun can sure trace all those calls and messages but if his principal Tinubu isn't willing enough to act and our CDS, COAS, and Ministers of Defence are always fingered to be sympathetic to terrorists, I don't think there's really anything Bosun can do. And he sure wouldn't throw his colleagues under the bus when the world is watching.
But has Bosun performed in his role as Minister? Blueraydick, he has. How has bosun performed? What's the totality of his duties (especially his ministry) and how has he hit the expected targets? |

DissTroy: There are 20 women. All have different opinions. They have different stands on feminism, patriarchy and the likes.
Team F and Team P.
Team P has 8 supporters. 4 are a very beautiful. Team P is pro-Patriachy.
They fight and argue. But whenever those 4 beautiful members of Team P make a case for Team P, some members of Team F go, "I don't blame you. You have big butts, breasts, and pretty faces so you don't know the struggles of the everyday woman. All your commonsense have been stored in your big butts and breasts, with those your large hips."
Pray tell, how do their body structures and facial aesthetics relate to the debates about feminism?
So because they are curvier than others, they should be deprived of the right to debate issues concerning womanhood?
On X, why is that feminists seem to attack the married females of Patriarchy FC more than the single ones? The answer is obvious. If you say resentment laced with envy then you're not wrong.
Why not focus on punching holes in the arguments of those curvy members of Team P instead of pointing out their looks every time to gaslight or deflect?
Soon enough it becomes obvious why these curvier women of Team P are always singled out while the less curvy members of Team P sometimes get a pass.
Arguments/debates have to be issue-based.
It beholds on me to point out the flaws of such discriminatory takes because if I were a pro-BAT poster, I'd have been gaslighted as just "defending his fellow agbadorians". You know this would have been the line used to counter me. Alot of words Too little meaning. Somethings are straight forward. |

My post u quoted simply says I hope Nigeria didn't bomb Benin as it is being rumored online.
I'm hoping Nigeria didn't bomb Benin because by unilaterally doing so, we are giving any bigger country implied permission to bomb us as a sovereign nation over any of our internal issues they decided to intervene militarily. Calm down. Looks like this place has been something else since I last argued. Nor vex nor vex. |

izzou: Airlines(Businesses) are not run with emotions. Because people said it online, is not the reason why they increased it.
It was increased because there's a traffic. Being too high is another point which I everyone can contest (As Ellexy said)
There's nothing loud about it. On the 14th of December, that flight will be filled with people who paid, heading to Lagos. That's not how pricing works for air tickets. There's a reason it cost more to travel by air inside Canada than to travel by air from Canada to the US. Nigeria has some expensive taxes and I believe it's a lack of Nigeria also being intentional about it |
