DissTroy: In just 6 hours, they proved it. Twitter spaces. The same "thought leaders"/ influencers headlining the Twitter spaces to listen to their own voices, bandy new twists to " inside information" they have, reshared by the WhatsApp group of cliquey influencers.
Then from 6AM tomorrow, they'd fill the trends with hashtags and anecdotes of what they said in the Twitter space tonight, skillfully adding keywords like "Mohbad", " Naira Marley", "Sam Larry" and their Twitter handles.
The third nested tweets would be of them promoting products or services based off promotional deals.
And on and on and on... Well, until there's a fresher gist and off they go. No real action taken. Predictable because it's what happens everytime if you are immersed in Twitter NG drama subculture.

DissTroy: No. Here's what the family (the real loved ones) of Bolanle Raheem have been doing in the last 9 months since their daughter was shot dead: https://www.channelstv.com/2023/05/31/bolanle-raheem-accused-police-officer-drambi-vandi-closes-defence/ .
They put in the actual work, after all the (faux) social media outrage gave way to trendier ones.
Maybe they'd get justice, maybe not. But they put in the work. They went beyond takes or timed syndicated releases to blogs for photo ops where the sister poses for pictures at Bolanle's grave then starts a diary about what led to the day and the coping mechanism. Yep! 70,000 followers soon enough.
They didn't commercialise her misfortune. That's what people who actually care do. Her life meant more than being surmised into content for impressions.
---
While SamClef, Osas, and VeryDarkMan have moved on to trendier, fresher scandals or controversies. All hail the activists who don't even take active steps! 9 months is nothing. Lets see if after 15yrs of no headway who will be left |

DissTroy: No, it's not. If your loved ones died under mysterious circumstances, you'd seek justice to the very end. And certain you wouldn't try to profit of their misfortune by commercialising it as a influencer to increase your ratings and views, dropping "exclusives" with carefully selected keywords to increase your views.
On social media, the most vocal/visible and purveyors of "inside information exclusives" mostly have been revealed not to give a shît.
I can bet you SamClef has probably never spoken to Mohbad before his death, or they weren't that close. But I have seen blog postings of him claiming to have insider information in the last few hours.
Please confirm this: Go check SamClef's impressions on Twitter and Instagram, and the engagements before and during this saga. Notice the upsurge? He's a freaking entertainer so he's doing the numbers game.
Why do you think he has "insider information" about every scandalous and controversial topical issues in the entertainment industry. SamClef is the same as the thousands of influencers, particularly on Twitter.
Your grief and misfortune are simply content to be monetized. Attention is a currency.
None of them (the most vocal mob and faux outraged folks) would see this to the end. It's happened too times not to be predictable.
Of course others would jump on the trend for visibility too. Like those selling wigs and bags. Hashtags anybody?
I'd quote this comment in three months to remind you. You are picking just a section of social media to justify your opinion. For every influencer trying to make money there are about 30 normal people just actually tweeting and raising awareness. You can check the comments in the tweets made by influencers. Not everyone will chase the cause of a mysterious death. Even family members do move on. Most times it will be one or 2 persons left but the rest have moved on. It's life, it's cruel but shit happens. The same social media has been used to raise enough noise for authorities to look into issues. Infact sometimes it has been used by ordinary citizens to sort out issues. Now I'm not saying you don't have evidence but I'm saying inside that evidence, another evidence dey inside to support my stance😎 |

DissTroy: "All kinds of publicity is good publicity". No.
Real life issues do not equate to PR. And PR only works when lives aren't at stake.
Remember Bolanle Raheem? No? Actually, she's the lawyer who was gunned down in Lagos by the police just last December. I just checked on Twitter and there's been barely any mention of her this year. None in the last few months.
The last media posting about her was BBC on March 7.
Remember how it was the hottest topic on Twitter that week? Remember all the faux outrage? Where are all those activists today? Moved on to the next trending gists. We never see anything to the end. ---
Remember Tagbo who did under mysterious circumstances in 2017? Remember all the hot takes? What became of those activists? Moved on! Is anyone mentioning Tagbo any longer? Do we know what happened to him?
"I'm so angry right now! I can't even eat! The culprits must be brought to book!" (Insert emojis) Please!
---
Pray Nigeria's flimsy system of justice never happens to you else you'd become nothing more than a casual R.I.P. and content for Twitter influencers.
Twitter folks don't general give a tuppence about you. Your misfortune is nothing more than momentary content to feed the adrenaline of bored followers. Cruel? Yes. But the harsh and hard truth. It's the same in social media. And even real life. The important people in your life that you've lost, over time you'll mention them less and less. There are alot of people on social media who in that moment genuinely care about the stories of these dead people and lend their voice in calling for justice. |

The kind of hunger in the land means there's no loyalty from nobody. Nothing like we dey fly the same colour...if you look like food, you will be eaten. There are disadvantages to that lifestyle.. I don't deny that. But what we cannot downplay is that their own position has also helped save them from alot more attacks from less powerful guys who live in that world. That's the point. You have to think really hard before aiming for a top guy because you know what will happen if you miss especially if you are not on the same level. Betrayal from the inside is a common factor and it's not new but I'm sure you get my message |

BlueRayDick: No be by that one o. Portable wey no commot for trenches, do u know how many he has been attacked ? Where do u think the sound " I am a baboon.... I live in a zoo" come from ?
Even Small doctor was beaten by awawa boys in agege (his home base) in 2018 or thereabouts.
The major issue is the pervasive culture of gangsterism, cultism and hooliganism in our society that makes non state actors arrogate powers to themselves . Our law enforcement agents do not help matters too because they get setteled by these non state actors thereby giving the impression that Nigeria is a lawless country.
The political class hobnobbing with some of these people kinda give them some implied legitimacy. Theflint posted pictures of Samlarry with Lagos State governor yesterday. It is the jungle, you are bound to get attacked from time to time but that doesn't change the fact that it is the best survival strategy because who dey attack you sef know say you get the influence to retaliate. I mean MC Oluomo has been stabbed in Lagos if I remember correctly but it doesn't change his status in this state. Yes I agree to your other points on gangsterism😎 |
