I did one for my late dad a few years back. The lawyer wrote a letter of introduction for me to take to the probate office. This was in Kogi State.

The probate officer who happens to be a magistrate told me I never needed any letter from my lawyers.

Once I had the affidavit of next of kin, he directed me to a bank to make payments and then fill forms in his office.

He was a good man.

I got my letter Inna few months later. And got my dad's gratuity in my bank account after fulfilling all righteousness at the pensions office.

Pls go to your home state, make enquiry at the State high court probate office and be happy.

Just give it time, because from your tracking details the country show on nipost website is Netherland. You can see my own tracking details showing Nigeria and location Lagos. Just wait a little

Update on my parcel.
Went to my local post office this morning my package was there I signed and opened the parcel there I discovered my package "phone worth $800+" wasn't inside, instead someone else parcel "drug" was inside.. already opened a dispute on AliExpress waiting for Thier response, I believe it might have been stolen in customs clearance.

No was postnl and it took 21 days before it got cleared from customs clearance, speedaf usually doesn't take much time, I'm reckon the issue is from customs, just exercise more patience.

That shouldn't take more than 24hrs, all things being equal. Thereafter, the parcel'd be dispatched to the Central Post office in your city.

If you're in Lagos, there's a possibly of you picking the item a day after the inspection, depending on the effectiveness of the PO in your area.

No, you will not run into problem if you follow DIY ( do-it-yourself) route. NIS encourages you to apply by yourself and submit all required documents.

No, do not use the birth certificate issued by a hospital, but use age declaration (attached with one passport-sized photograph and duly endorsed by a Commissioner for Oaths) or an official birth attestation certificate from the National Population Commission instead. Birth attestion certificate is only available for Nigerian adults aged 18 and above.

Since when? Holiday wei don end since the 5th? Even if they are, why should it affect the clearance of items already in the country? The delay is nothing but a common phenomenon with NCS. Just get use to it!
