https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9EgRitd2ps The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, along with his vice, were chanting "Buhari Must Go" during their campaign in Anambra yesterday. |
Amina Titi Abubakar, the wife of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said her husband, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, does not need Nigeria's money for any reason. Amina Abubakar said Atiku plan to restructure Nigeria and if using his wealth to do so is required, he would not hesitate to use it. "Atiku must rule Nigeria, he must get Nigeria working again". Amina made this known during a rally in Abuja where the wives of other PDP politicians were present. She went further by saying Atiku will create jobs for the unemployed and he is restructuring Nigeria for good. "Nigerian women are suffering. What can N10,000 do for you? Atiku will provide business women with funds to run their businesses. "Atiku does not need Nigeria's money because he has already made enough." https://i0.wp.com/lnaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/failed.png During the 2015 election campaign, Buhari made a list of promises he was going to fulfill if he became president but looking back, he has failed this country and the people. There are myriad of reasons why Buhari should not be re-elected but one major reason is that he has about 62 promises of 2015 election campaign which he is yet to fulfill but still, he wants to run for president a second time. Pointing out one of the numerous promises he gave Nigerians, is the area of employment. Buhari promised to create 3 million jobs every year for the time period he will be in power. Now, putting that into account, he is meant to have created 12 million jobs in Nigeria but instead of doing so, Nigeria took over from India and is now ranked as “The Country with extremely poor people” by Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization based in the United States. According to a report by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, the unemployment rate rose from 18.8 percent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2017 to 23.1 in the third quarter of 2018. Also, the number of unemployed people in Nigeria increased dramatically by up to 3 million. Another major thing to be noted is that during the 2015 election campaign, Buhari promised to make the naira stable at the international market of which we all know how that went. The naira was trading below N200 before Buhari was elected as president but there afterward, it surprisingly went up to N500 and remained so for a while before came to about N360, the price it is currently traded. Before coming to a halt, the insurgency as at 2015 was terrible and it was tearing Nigeria apart when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was in power but Buhari during his 2015 election campaign made Nigerians believe he could defeat Boko Haram and coupled with his military background, many thought it could be a reality. The issue of insurgency in Nigeria remains unsolved and many lives have been lost including that of the gallant soldiers who risked their lives fighting the terrorists. Boko Haram insurgents now attack soldiers more often than before, killing many so we all can confidently say the promise of defeating Boko Haram was a sham. Lastly, on Tuesday 29th, 2019, President Buhari made it known during his 2019 election campaign in the south-east that he has fulfilled all his 2015 promises of which turns out to be false. If he could not fulfill the promises he made during his 2015 election campaign, what guarantee do we have that he will fulfill the ones he made during his 2019 election campaign?
