The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the general elections by a week, less than five hours to the start of the polls.

According to the commission, the Presidential and National Assembly elections, initially scheduled for today, February 16, will now hold on February 23, while the governorship and state houses of assembly elections will take place on March 9.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced the decision at a short press briefing at 2:44 am on Saturday morning.

Lawyer turned musician, Folarin Falana, has finally reacted to the now trending Lekki rape case.
Recall that we reported an alleged rape case of an unnamed 23-year-old girl two days ago by the duo of Razaq Oluwaseun Oke, and Don-Chima George, at De Lankaster Hotels, Lekki, Phase one, Lagos.
According to reports, the duo allegedly spiked the girl’s drink with a depressant before taking her to an unidentified club, to gang rape her and also filmed the whole episode.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Thursday agreed to suspend their strike, which has lasted for three months.
This comes after ASUU signed all agreements with the Federal Government, following a conciliatory meeting in Abuja.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, represented the Federal Government, while the lecturers were represented by the union’s president, Biodun Ogunyemi.
According to Ngige, both parties unanimously resolved the eight contentious issues that had prolonged the strike.
Addressing reporters at the end of the meeting, Ogunyemi said: “On Sunday, November 4, 2018, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) resumed its strike action, which was conditionally suspended on 14th September, 2017.
“The action of 2017 was suspended following the signing of a memorandum of action (MoA) in which the federal government of Nigeria (FGN) promised to address the contentious issues within a timeline that was to end in October 2017.
