I just read this story now and would like to share my experience which is a little different.

I got a 1.5Kva UPS or is it Watts? A small UPS.

So I plugged it to the mains and switched it on.
And immediately my neighbour's Nepa alarm started ringing, meaning he had light.

I quickly switched off the mains and switched it back on as I wasn't too sure what just happened.
My neighbour's light came on again.

I had to disconnect.
UPS of that size is not for that purpose.

But you see my neighbor was not aware of where that trigger was coming from.
I am sure in his mind, 'NEPA has started again".

My point?
My point is that lady may just be going about blowing up innocent people's appliances.
Without illegal connections from my neighbor, my flat was supplying his flat!

By innocent I mean, they may not have actively tapped her lines.
Her generator guy or the electrician may have done a bad job that somehow triggers on her neighbor's supply.

Yeah though I agree that the neighbors, are still not innocent, because they should have notified her if it was an innocent trigger, "Neighbor any time you switch on your generator I get light", would have saved those appliances.

But some people who think they are smart would be like, "I dey my house, light come waka come meet me, who am I to complain when God don butter my bread?", even when they know it is an error.

But I still think the lady should have warned them first to disconnect their illegal connection IF it was on purpose and when they refuse before going that extreme.

But I think the neighbours didn't actively connect to her generator, if not they would not have bothered coming out at all when she blew them up.

I don't think it is fair she blew up those appliances. She could have asked for a refund.

Forgiveness and allowing GOD fight for you would still have been better in this case than destroying those appliances.
