TELCOs are already taking a charge on sms for USSD, why should they take additional charge as fee for USSD transactions.

It is like DOSCOs claiming or making a case to want to share in your profit as a business because they provided electricity for you to operate the business.

Rather this conversation should have been focused on eliminating the USSD charge to the bank customers.

Why are customers being charge for service which they have already paid for through sms by the banks and telcos.

Nigeria is a very funny place, when we argue and make our case, it is not very compelling.

I once mentioned to a group of friends during our usual discussions around politics and economics that each democratically elected government in nigeria would be worse than the previous one. I believe that statement was made during Jonathan's government.

African Leaders, particularly Nigerians lack the morale ground to be responsible and accountable which is the pinnacle of good governance.

I said same thing with this current government, some of the policies are good and are positioned towards development, but the government, particularly the president lack the morale persona to mitigate against corruption. This deficiency automatically renders any effort he makes useless no matter how good the intension he has.

We need to instill morality, integrity, discipline, responsibility and accountability before we can see some semblance of anything call abiding by and respecting the rule of law.

People do not respect the rule of the law, nobody does! People only fear the consequences of breaking the law and democracy does not teach or force people to respect the rule of law, a people have to be respecters of laws to be able to practice true democracy and abide by the rules.

We need someone or an instituition that would come and force us to respect the rule of the law...beat sense into our brains and purnish law breakers over a period, then common sense would then apply as orientation would have changed over time, precedents would have changed over time. we would now be able to tell what is good or bad no matter whose horse is gorged.

With the system we currently have, this cannot be achieved.

With the current system, every new democratically elected government would be worse than the previous one.
Our foundation is faulty and we continue to build on it and try repair the structure or the roof, the fault is at the foundation.

We need to reboot the system and re-install new softwares.
