GRABBO is one of the most incompetent clinic i have ever visited . I remember i chatted and called their staff for information on how long the test will take so I can prepare myself financially and also to give my husband adequate information so he will know how many days to take off work. I was told d result will b out in 2-3days max . I and my DH went to abuja just to be told d result will take 6 day . I was there just in their accommodation waiting for just a single prolactin result to be out . Result dat can be gotten in max 2 days back to my residence. I couldn't start the ivf in dat Aug . So I came back to place of residence.
Went back to abuja again when I saw my period dat same day I booked my flight so I can be at d clinic d next day . On getting to the hospital I met a Dr that was telling mi oh u shouldnot have come we are no longer taking ivf patients for this time till jan cos we will b closing for the year in dec . I am like how is dat possible that has a patient I wasnot informed dat dey closing for Dec or so Dont they have a database the share adequate information with their patients. Then I told her I cannot go back to lagos again dis is my second visit .I paid 53,000 for one way to come to abuja.
She now told mi she will ve to speak with deir CMD DR Kate and plead if dey can take it as if dey were doing mi a favour and I didnot pay . I didnot say anytin . Den she went out called and said ok I can start cos I will finish my cycle before dey close for the year.
Ok this is now the real story
GRABBO NEVER TELL YOU ANY ADEQUATE INFORMATION . EG HOW MANY EGGS U GOT, WHAT IS UR GRADE OF EGGS , IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF EGGS, IF U WILL LIKE TO FREEZE . HOW WAS YOUR LINING BEFORE TRANSFER, WHEN U NOW DECIDE TO ASK THEM . THEY WILL NOT ANSWER U, ALL DEY WILL SAY IS ITS OK . THE NURSES WERE NOT NICE AND READY TO PROVIDE INFO SINCE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME .JUST A FEW WERE FRIENDLY.
THE DR WILL COME TO THE RETRIVAL ROOM AND BONE HER FACE .YOU WILL GREET HER AND SHE WILL ANSWER YOU COLDLY. MADAM IVF IS ALREADY A STRESSFUL JOURNEY . WE NEED U TO BE NICE AND APPROACHABLE.
AFTER TRANSFER NO ONE EVER BOTHER TO CHECK ON YOU. WHICH DAT ONE IS OK . THE DATE OF TESTING . RESULT CAME OUT NEGATIVE, ( SAD FACE),WELL I WAS AWARE IVF IS NOT 100% THAT WAS WHY I PAID FOR 3 CYCLES. I NOW CALLED DR KATE TO REVIEW MY TEST JUST TO KNOW IF I CAN WORK TOWARDS MY SECOND CYCLE . AS USUAL SHE SOUNDED VERY COLD AND NOT APPROACHABLE. NOT EVEN A SINGLE SIGN OF EMPATHY AND EVEN AS A WOMAN TO WOMAN SHE SHOULD VE EVEN ENCOURAGE ME TO B STRONG AND TRY AGAIN HER NEXT WORD WAS HOW MANY CYCLE DID U PAY FOR I TOLD HER 3 D NEXT THING IS OK COME NEXT YEAR. DAT WAS ALL FROM A DR DAT UNDERSTAND WHAT A WOMAN PASSES THROUGH TO HAVE A CHILD .
IN ALL SINCERELY NOT COS OF THE BFN I HAD . BUT GOING TO GRABBO WAS A TERRIBLE CHOICE COS OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH D DR'S AND NURSE AND DEY NEED TO DO BETTER. ITS BEING ON PROMO SHOULDNOT MAKE THE PATIENT COMING TO
THIER CLINIC TO FEEL LESS OF THEMSELVES. ALL THEY SELL IS JUST A BEAUTIFUL BUILDING AND ZERO MEDICAL PRACTICE ANd EMPATHY .
I WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR COS I VE PAID FOR A 3 CYCLE AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO LET GO OF THE BALANCE WHICH I WISH I CAN. I PRAY MY SECOND CYCLE IS A SUCCESS AND I PRAY THEY IMPROVE ON THEIR CUSTOMER- CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS.

this is the real picture of Grabbo, once u pay like this they will start showing their true colour and when u have a bfn, the doctor will be sounding as if u r disturbing and bothering her. I recently circled with them and all ,I mean all what u described here happened. I told the sonograher on day 6 stim scan to tell me how I'm responding ,he said he can't tell me anything , the doctor herself did the last scan on day 10 stim ,I expected her to at least tell me some things but she said nothing. I couldn't bear the nonsense again and I had to tell them to tell me my statistics on transfer day, so they now told me eggs retrieved, how many fertilized, how many made it to day 5, how many they will transfer. I met a lady there, she told me later on that she didn't even know any of these things during the procedure cos they didn't tell her but she was successful anyway but later had miscarriage. besides if u have serious medical issues like endometriosis ,don't even bother going there cos they don't know how to manage it in ivf. they follow normal ivf protocol for everybody which will never work out for someone with endo
their success rate is high to be honest but they need to work on their relationship with customers
mama I pray that your next procedure will be a success in Jesus name

Initial Registration and preliminary tests @ 50k if I still remember correctly cos we registered early 2017. Ivf @ 800/850k. Endo scratching @ 15k. Anonymous sperm donor @ 50k. The endo scratching is done a week before your next period.[/quote

Congrats client. I'm seriously considering ds hospital, please did u consult d doctor before registering? Cos I'll like to talk to him first.

boco2126:
On this IELTS issue...my two cents.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

pls kindly send d ielts materials to homing@yahoo.com
