wunmite06: This is not true, please get a copy of tenancy law in Nigeria or Google it to know more about it. The quit notice is in order according to the law. You only get 7 days grace to vacate the property after your tenancy expire.
Unless the law just changed, any quit notice starts reading when your rent expires. You can't put tenants under pressure when their rent is still reading.

You can use the remaining time to look for another apartment or try to appeal to the landlord of the apartment to see if he can have a change of heart.

Six months or three months quit notice should commence at the expiry of the rent. But Nigeria is a lawless country where people bully those they can with law enforcers and go away with it.

One of my best friends who is expected to get married this year just called me for hours with regards to his plans.

MrBrownJay1: again, you need to have concrete proof that the state of the child is due to the reckless actions of the mother.... so if all the above you mentioned can be contracted while in contact with other kids at kindergarden or in the compound where they live, then your whole plot will fail.
have you tried talking to mama? have you tried co-parenting? have you tried being closer to the child so that you can be more present in his life to monitor his/her wellbeing? remember, no matter how hard you hate that woman or what type of reckless life she lives, she IS and will STILL remain the child's mother and therefore would have rights to have access to the child (if/when the child is in your care).
