It really wasn't necessary, the way some Nigerian men treat women most times is disgusting.

it's disgusting to say the least. Nigerian guys go about marrying old white women for paper, engage in internet fraud, traffic drugs and what not outside Nigeria and Nigerian girls do not go about insulting them or even comparing them with foreigners. And the same Nigerian girls they spend their time insulting get married to better looking and better behaved foreigners of right age and they don't go about making noise about it.

I still don't understand why whenever a Nigerian guy travels out the first thing he does is to compare the girls in that Country with girls in Nigeria. Telling us how we are not good enough or how materialistic we are forgetting that they have sisters and female relatives in Nigeria which are also included. If the girls there do not play hard to get we are insulted for it, if they play hard to get we are still insulted. If they dress and look better we are insulted about how ugly we look, if we dress better we are insulted about how overdressed we look. If they dress half unclad they are admired and applauded for allowing them see how sexy they look, if we dress half unclad we are called prostitutes and what not. Please we are tired of the insults and comparison. Nigerian girls outside the Country get married to foreigners on daily basis and you don't see them go about comparing them with Nigerian guys let alone insult them. Nigerian guys even behave far worse than the girls.

Who said anything about Americans or America? You see the mistake most of you make is assuming everyone wants to travel to America. America is not the only developed country in the world. They are better countries you just have to be informed.
Instead of Campus Runs girls, they call them student Escort girls. There is no free tertiary education there. What Awolowo started here is unimaginable there.

Nobody is talking about the vices there. I never said anything about Campus Runs girls because it's everywhere. Please which tertiary institution is free in Nigeria? If you are talking about Government primary and Secondary Schools which are free you are not being sincere. The Government schools that are abandoned, where students sit on the floor where the teachers do not care? How many comfortable Nigerians will want to send their children there?
It is we who go there and aspire to their Universities and that is how they raise money to give their people scholarship.

Are you trying to say that they don't have better schools? If you don't want Nigerians to keep traveling out for better Education tell the Government to fix the Education sector. We can't keep settling for less.

Their free public High School is a war zone, where kids can get de-educated.

And you think the one in Nigeria is any better? Have you heard of school fight among Government schools in Nigeria? You need to witness it to know how bloody it gets. Talking about de-education visit the Government schools and see for yourself.
As for the remittances to relatives in Nigeria, it is at the expense of their mental health. They have been depersonalised to become a mere Social Security Number.
Seriously at the expense of their mental health? The way you guys say these things will make people think we are treated any better in this Country.
Why are so many Americans drug addicts? It is to dull the pain we do not see in Hollywood films that entice us.

Like I said before the world do not revolve around America.
We need a wake up call.

We need a wake up call about the injustice in this Country. Until we hold the Government responsible and make them fix this country people will traveling out for a better live.

Open a thread stating that you want to give out money to people in need and hear different stories. Do you know that as cheap as Education is in Nigeria majority of Nigerians can't afford it? Do you know how many mouths those second class citizens and slaves are feeding in Nigeria? Do you know how much they send to relatives and families year in and out? Please don't blame people for taking a way out.

The chances of becoming a dollar millionaire is much greater in Nigeria than America or U.K. Infact the UNITED KINGDOM is a DYING SUPER POWER. Most people in the U.K. are poor and live on government welfare. Income tax in the U.K. is almost 50%. I have been there and I have seen it. I have also been to America and seen what happens. As for your major(finance) I don't want to discourage you, but, you better start making rich friends now!.

Please let's be honest with ourselves, if Nigeria was a sane country those people you mention won't be this rich. Do you know how Dangote makes his money? By lobbying the government to make policies that favour just him. Do you know how many people he has put out of business? He wants to have the monopoly. Why do you think almost all the billionaires we have in this country had a connection with those in power at one point in time. The government made them rich. Truth is with the way we are going I don't think there will be any hope for the next generation. What do you think is the hope of the common man?

Mothers are the pillars that hold many households in nigeria. They pay the bills.
Many men are useless fathers.

They keep doing this because they know that if in the future the kids become successful all they need to do is call some elders or relative to plead on their behalf saying it's the devil's handwork. They need to start facing the consequences of their actions so that others planning to act the same way will know what will happen in the future.
You can't expect to reap where you did not sow.
This young man is trying to find a solution now because he still cares for his father. If this should continue he might be forced to hate him, then in the future they will start singing the forgive him anthem, saying he is your father no matter what. That's nonsense.

Wow there's nothing I won't read on nairaland. This country is in a mess because we don't face the consequences of our actions, always making excuses.
A father that has decided to act like his kids are not existing, that doesn't care about their welfare, if they are alive or not is not worth calling a father.
Some people are saying that he is taking sides with his mother, what do you expect? Did you miss the part where he said the mother caters for 70% of his needs in school while the man goes about spending his money on different women?
His mother is carrying out the function of both parent in the house and his father has the gut to abuse her and some of you are suggesting he turn a blind eye to it.
For Christ sake that woman is going through a lot, sponsoring two boys in school, taking care of the kids still at home, working and also being abused and insulted.
Please @ op the earlier your mum leaves that environment the better for her. Her piece of mind is of utmost importance to avoid stories that touch.

Yes we all know that the materialistic nature of a lot of girls in Nigeria is disgraceful. But please don't pretend like guys in Nigeria don't also act in a disgraceful way towards those that have travelled out of Nigeria. That's the Nigerian way, they feel that once you are out of Nigeria you have made it. We are a product of our environment.
For those saying that Nigerian girls have low mentality, point of correction majority of Nigerians(men and women) living in have a low mentality. You think a Nigerian girl outside Nigeria will want a Nigerian man? Sorry it goes both ways. This country is messed up.

How did you think they met those women and made them 2nd and 3rd wives? So you think Ahmed Musa did not cheat on his wife with Juliet before he decided to make her his second wife?
I don't have anything against those who practice polygamy even if I'm not in support of it. I only have a problem with those trying to justify polygamy by saying it's better than cheating on your wife when we all know that polygamist are the worst when it comes to cheating. Just say you are marrying more than one wife because you want to or because your religion allows you to.
