Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo shared his 2017 father's day message on Twitter.


In his message, the acting president said:'Every father is a leader of generations, a leader of nations, a progenitor of nations. If we men did our duty, we would raise a generation of young men and women who are honest, trustworthy, loyal and faithful'.

Last week, the lavish wedding of Nigeria’s richest woman, Folorunsho Alakija’s son, Folarin, who just got married to the love of his life, Nazanin in the UK.It was a wedding to remember and is said to have cost up to $6.3m (N131m) and some Nigerians are far from happy for the couple.

Comments on Facebook spoke of how the money could have been invested in Nigeria and used to reduce poverty.One man named Kunz Tamuno said on Facebook: “I don’t approve of him spending so lavishly when his compatriots are dying of starvation.”

“I know he doesn’t owe anything to anybody.He is not obliged to give to the poor but doing sois the only sensible thing to do.”

Nigerian comedian Mr Jollof who is quite popular on Instagram has reviewed the latest song of Dapo Adebanji Dbanj, saying the song comes way below the standard of Dbanj and the artistes featured on it.


Dbanj’s mates sing “Its not a lie” was released about a week ago with an accompanying video featuring two of Nigeria’s finest acts Harrysong and Wande Coal.

According to Mr Jollof, the song sounds more like a nursery rhyme, not like something an established artists should release.

“If you were going for an audition at a talent hunt show, is that sing something you can boldly sing before judges? Or as a judge, would you accept such?” Mr Jollof asked.

“As for me, I don’t like that song, even Harrysong’s flavour was lost on the music”


he added.

The comedian however said although he does not like the song, his respect for Dbanj remains.

At least 11 members of staff and students of the Osun State University, Ipetu Ijesa, were allegedly injured when officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety invaded the campus.

According to multiple reports, the air force men, who had been terrorising students of the University for a long time, armed with guns, cutlasses, sticks, arrived the campus in patrol vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers and beat up lecturers and students.


The Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Adebimpe Adigun, who confirmed the incident described the attack as 'bloody'"Six of the students are currently admitted to a hospital; five were treated for injuries. Two members of staff were also wounded by the military men." she said.

A gulf car carrying seven passengers fell off the Bagurja bridge on a height of about 12 meters in Alkeri, Bauchi-Gombe road in Bauchi state killing two persons at the spot including a police inspector who was given a lift by on his way to Yola. Five others who were critically injured are receiving treatment at Alkaleri General hospital.


The tragic incident happened on Friday morning following a tyre burst. May their souls rest in peace.
