Seun: That was insensitive of you seun... Your sarcasm is duly noted. There is only so much one can expect from an atheist anyway. |

Happy new month brova.... Ohh i understand, you did what you had to do at that point. We are at another point entirely now. By the way i had a fair share of the blame too. But in all, we've since moved on and that is what matters. You dont have to blame yourself for the ediots bringing the screenshots back to bare, they are only doing what they know how to do best, trolling. I've tried to extend a hand of friendship back to those in your team that still consider me an enemy. ... As far as i am concerned, there is no permanent enemy or permanent friend on nairaland, we only live for the moment. Cheers bro, I appreciate this. |

One thing i thank the organizers and the founder of this forum for, is providing a platform for folks of different background and status to healthily compete for the crown on a level playing ground. I'm more than impessed at the contestants' credentials. They are all a product (or in view) of quality education. I saw undergraduates, Bsc holders even Msc holders. This goes further to lend credence and credibility to the Competition. Its not a mediocre show of shame like many would have thought considering the bad blood that have trailed it in recent past. I say kudos to dygeasy and his team , and a very big thank you to mr seun osewa for sponsoring this year's edition. Atleast now, intending aspirants for future editions have a reason to never give up in their academic pursuit as it will always reflect in their profiles in course of the contest. Take it or leave it, this competition is inspiring someone out there to not give up on Jamb or waec. If all these contestants (regardless of their impressions they give online) can be a graduate(or undergraduate as the case may be), definitely this contest is not for illiterate dumb skulls as we have been made to believe. IT HAS COME TO STAY IF IT COUNTS, I VOTE FOR: FYNESTBOI PIPERSON ADEWUMIOPEYEMI GOLOR ELDAILLEST KENNETH205 AKINPELU CC: NLJEGA |

Since the title of this thread sounds like a debatable arguement, a fair one at that, i will like to plea my case against the Op's motion. As would any competition, one mainly decided by votes, canvassing and campaigning can not be undermined - a major influencing factor. Those two highlighted are as good as a dead horse without proper coordination and strategizing which can only be achieved on a platform easily accesible or less difficult to an existing platform (A case of nairaland and whatsapp groups). That simply is the logic behind having a whatsapp group as a contestant. It further enhances your chances by presenting a common front ( your team members) and having the opportunity to plan and strategize. That sounds logically admissible to any sane man. Where hunger and poverty comes from is a clear case of asking the pope if viagra works well. (we all know there is more to that assertion) **************-********************************** Now to the Op's real headache. ![]() In recent times, certain cliques/ groups have been more pronounced for reasons not far fetched. Take it or leave it, nairaland is like the world stage everyone comes to play on, we all return to our various cubicle at dawn. It is not a crime to accomodate few social acquaintances in that cubicle. Its all boils down to your choice. As far as i can tell, the core objectives of the various groups the op highlighted may differ but it is no gainsaying to state that coming together of a group of people that met on a common platform decides to create a group to further cement the bond of friendship (that which comes with lots of opportunies, cultural interactions, and mental exposures) is/was not borne OUT OF POVERTY MENTALITY. .... And that is why today, i personally belong to multiple offline nairaland group for various purposes (Notable causes i must add). There are many groups out there but the fact that these ones are socially/leisure inclined makes them more pronounced in settings such as pagentry, trolling, sexual discussions and what have you. SUMMARY: You dont have to belong to a particular group to win mr or miss nl, but you need a group of committed individuals to make your dream a reality. Last i checked, bots dont campaign. (DISCLAIMER:: I have only spoken as regards the idea behind group thingy or forming a group as an offshoot of nairaland interaction, definitely not about the nature or behaviour each of the groups has choosen to exhibit on nairaland or offline) Cheers. Gflat:[s] Shove that right back into your mouth. The op's preference for a particular contestant (fynestboi) does not and it's not a testament of our support at his massive display of childish exuberances. [/s] Ok scratch that Gflat, that was redlabel talking.... ![]() But to be candid, TEAM FYNESTBOI has reiterated a dozen times that honourable daviyjones is not a member of the team, atleast to the best of my knowledge... However, as a bonafide and eligible electorate Of this forum, he does have right to support, vote and campaign for whomever he has found worthy.... That said, its therefore a fallacy to say team fynestboi is/has been the one behind daviyjones recent outbursts and resentments towards the AWON WEREY crew. If you ask me, i think the reverse is the case 'coz its causing us more harm than good.... No disrespect to the man of list though ![]() |
