The Youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Monday congratulated the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar on his emergence at the party’s primary.

The former Vice President on Sunday defeated 11 other aspirants to pick the party’s ticket.

He will challenge incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in next year’s general election.

Reacting to the victory of the former Vice President, Ohaneze Youth Council Worldwide led by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said Atiku is the right man for the job.

The group, however, insist that only a running mate from South East will be a suitable pair for PDP to win 2019 Presidential election.

“Majority of Igbo believes in Restructuring and majority of Igbo Youths wants Referendum because of the economic hardship in the country, we believe that Atiku whose campaign of restructuring will win the hearts of Nigerians and possible pair of running mate from South East Will quell the quest of referendum by agitators and Igbo Youths”.

“We insists that any betrayal of denying Ndigbo the Vice Presidential slot of PDP will make Ndigbo dump PDP in the Presidential election, but will vote PDP in the Gubernatorial elections in Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu”.

The group further said that the zone ‘has better personalities like Peter Obi, Ngozi Okonjo Iwuala, Sen Dr Ike Ekweremadu and Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe who are fit for the Vice Presidential job’
The group warned that it will work against the PDP by mobilising youths in the zone to vote for another party of Mr Atiku fails to pick his running late from the South East.

Politics › Re: How Dino Melaye Outshined Abdullahi Adamu Within Three Years In Senate – Saraki by losky83: 5:41pm On Jul 30, 2018
AnotherZik:
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Monday declared that he could not have referred to the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, as a “clown” during a private discussion with the Senator representing Nasarawa West, Abdullahi Adamu, because the former has outperformed the latter within just three years at the Senate.

Saraki, while reacting to the claim by Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa state, that he once referred to Melaye as “clown” in a private discussion, described the former as a compulsive liar and an unreliable man who will do or say anything to suit his situation at any point in time.

In a statement signed on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu,  the Senate President said he could not have referred to Melaye as a clown given that his Kogi West colleague “has so far outshined and has performed better than Senator Abdullahi in terms of the number of ...

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Monday, July 30, 2018, arraigned three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, before Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. they were arraigned on an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy, diversion of public funds and money laundering to the tune of N179, 800,000.00 (One Hundred and Seventy-nine Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira).

The defendants - Yemi Akinwunmi, Atiba Dickson and Ogunmodede Oladayo-were alleged to have collected the slush funds from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.

Investigations revealed that the money was disbursed through Fidelity Bank Plc to some chieftains and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as some retired staff of INEC in Ogun State in order to compromise the 2015 general elections.

One of the counts reads: “That you, Yemi Akinwunmi, Dickson Atiba and Ogunmodede Oladayo, sometime in March, 2015 in Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conspired amongst yourselves to directly take possession of the sum of N179,800,000.00(One Hundred and Seventy- nine Million, Eight hundred Thousand Naira) ,which sum you reasonably ought to have known forms part of the proceeds of fraud and you, thereby, committed an offence contrary to Section 18(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 as amended and punishable under Section 15 (3) and (4) of the same Act.”

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

In view of their pleas, the prosecution counsel, Nnaemeka Omewa, asked the court for a trial date and also prayed that the defendants be remanded in prison custody.

However, counsel to the defendant, Ayo Ogungbesan, moved an oral application for bail on behalf of his clients.

In refusing the bail application, the judge held that the defence counsel must make a formal application for bail on behalf of his clients.

Consequently, Justice Hassan adjourned the matter to August 6, 2018 for hearing of the bail application and ordered the defendants to be remanded prison custody.

These are the kind of hypocrites that destroy Nigeria. Was the Bishop at the moon when jonathan's government killed so many young Nigerian soldiers by giving them toys to take into combat against Boko Haram through their evil spirit, col.dasuki.was the Bishop sleeping when the previous government almost sent all of us back to our villagies with their corrupt practices.

Danpersie31:
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has dared President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church. This is coming after Bishop Oyedepo admonished President Muhammadu Buhari to “resign” from office over the spate of killings in the country.
He stated this on Sunday at the church’s headquarters in Canaan Land, Ota. But Omokri, while reacting said Buhari will meet his end if he dares to touch Bishop Oyedepo.
According to him, “Oyedepo is right to call Buhari to resign over his failed leadership.
On his Twitter page, “I dare Muhammadu Buhari to lay a hand on Bishop @DavidOyedepo for speaking the truth to him. He tries it and he meets his Waterloo!
“Bishop Oyedepo is right in asking @MBuhari to resign and go. This is a failed leadership that has brought little beside sorrow, tears, and blood!”
You see. These are the kind of hypocrites that destroy Nigeria. Why not seek to see the president and tell him to step down when you see him, rather than trying to instigate some chaos through the church.

Politics › Re: Ozekhome Begs Buhari To Release Dasuki by losky83: 4:17pm On Jul 20, 2018
Mrakeli:
Human Rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to release the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki who has been granted bail six times by different courts.

Ozekhome, in a letter to Buhari on Thursday tagged, “President Muhammadu Buhari, Please, Release Col. Sambo Dasuki in God’s Name”, insists Dasuki has not been convicted by any court of law to have warranted the long detention since December 2015.

Ozekhome, making references to the various bails including the one by ECOWAS Court, said a situation where government picks court order is dangerous.

He said, “We are having the dangerous situation where this government picks and chooses which orders to obey or disobey, an anarchical situation.

“The same government has so far refused to obey several orders for the release of the Shittes leader, El-Zakzaki. This is clearly against constitutionalism and the Rule of Law.”

The legal luminary further pleaded with the President to give Dasuki a lifeline by releasing him on bail.

“Mr President sir, in the name of almighty Allah, the Supreme God we all serve, let Dasuki go home on bail. Give him a breather. He has a family, friends and dependants to care for. He has not yet been convicted by any court of law.

“He is still presumed innocent under section 36 of the Nigerian Constitution.

“Give him a lifeline. Help us build strong institutions, not strong men. I appeal to you sir, on my bended kneels. Let the milk of human kindness flow in you. Seek ye not vengeance. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but give place unto wrath; for it is written, vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord (Romans 12:19).

“The Rule of law doctrine theorises, amongst others, that: all people and institutions are subject to and accountable to law, the principle of government of law.

“The rule of law means that no person or government is above the law; that there is restriction of arbitrary exercise of power by subordinating it to well-defined and established laws. It means that no person however highly placed, is above the law, whether law makers, law enforcement officials, judges or persons in government”.
