Crime › Re: DPO, 7 Other Officers Arrested After Killing A Barrow Pusher In Portharcourt by losky83: 9:48pm On Jun 14, 2019 |
NaijaOlosho: Baridon Monsi, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Mile 3, Nkpolu Police Station in Port Harcourt and other seven officers are cooling their heads in detention for allegedly shooting a barrow pusher, Abdullahi Idris, to death.
Idris was said to have been accosted by a group of boys while conveying a generating set, who subsequently accused him of stealing it.
According to the South-south/South-east coordinator of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Musa Saidu, the deceased was a wheelbarrow pusher from Tambua in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, hired to convey a generating set for someone who was also killed by the police over alleged generator theft.
Saidu explained that the deceased was lynched by the mob before he was arrested and detained allegedly on the orders of the DPO in charge of Mile 3, Nkpolu Police Station.
Saidu said pleas made by Idris that the generating set he was carrying was not stolen but was being conveyed was ignored.
He added that when relations of the deceased went to the police station to secure his bail, they were informed that the deceased was no longer in their custody.
“The leaders of Hausa community in Rivers were pained by the information and took the matter to the Commissioner of Police, Usman Belel, who went to the station only to observe that our narration was true, that the deceased was shot and buried on the orders of the DPO without investigations.
“Idris was only two months old in Port Harcourt. He was a wheelbarrow pusher before he met his untimely death. He was accosted by some persons who accused him of stealing the generator. We called the DPO and he asked us to come back in the evening. When we came back we could not see the DPO. We called his line severally and he did not pick his calls. When we inquired further, we were informed that the DPO ordered his men to shoot the boy before the evening appointment he gave to us.
“The DPO told the police commissioner that the deceased was shot because he and his group wanted to shoot him. The DPO took the Commissioner to where the deceased was buried and the Commissioner ordered that the body be exhumed. He also directed that both the DPO and other police officers involved in the death of the deceased be arrested.”
Nnamdi Omoni, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officers while confirming the incident said that the DPO and four policemen have been arrested and detained over the matter.this is just the one we have heard how about the other 1billion cases uninvesptigated young men are killed and labelled robbers and there is no investigation to a certain the story most of it are lies to cover up brutal killing of innocent people.

Ritzy10: The girl who was allegedly drugged at a nightclub and gang-raped on February 3, 2019, by two dropouts of Babcock University, Don-Chima George and Olusegun Razak - in a hotel owned by George’s dad - wants the criminal suit filed against them withdrawn.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the complainant made the request during proceedings at an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Thursday, via a “Letter of Withdrawal”.
In the letter, dated June 3, 2019, which was read in court by Justice Abiola Soladoye, the complainant attributed her decision to the “intervention of family members” and for the sake of her integrity.
However, Mr Akin George, a Deputy-Director in the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and lead state prosecutor, however, opposed the complainant’s request.
After listening to the submissions of the prosecution and defence, Justice Soladoye said that the court would continue with proceedings, and that bail would not be granted to the defendants because the court had already delivered a ruling denying them bail.
The case was adjourned to June 18 for continuation of trial.

Chief Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Wednesday has described as worrisome that no South Easterner is occupying any position in the first six political offices in the current administration.
President Muhammadu Buhari is from the North-Central while Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo is from the South- West. Ahmad Lawan, Senate President is from the North- East while Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila the Speaker of the House of Reps is from the South- West.
Justice Tanko Mohammed the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) is from the North- Eastern state of Bauchi while Senator Ovie Omo- Agege the Deputy Senate President is from the South- South geopolitical zone.
He also said the President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech on Democracy Day was not inspiring though it gave him a slight ray of hope.
“I was not inspired because it was not the kind of speech that I expected. I expected a foundation laying speech; meaning that if you are building a house, you find a deal with foundation issues. I think Nigeria lacks the foundation and the fact that for instance, if you look at the first six highest political offices in Nigeria and there is no Igbo man is worrying which the President hopes to achieve development and success”.
“I was hoping to hear a speech that focuses on the need for a strong, united Nigeria. I didn’t hear that. Notwithstanding, what I hear gives me a slight ray of hope. I was impressed with the issue of lifting 100 million people out of poverty in 10 years”.
“I was impressed with the fact that there will be strong men to do the job. So, what I am looking at now is to watch out for the next few days to see the kinds of people that will be appointed to drive the ship of state” he said. https://www.independent.ng/non-inclusion-of-igbo-man-in-first-six-national-positions-worrisome-agbakoba/ bros I beg u and all other hypocrites to shut up.politics is a game of interest as said.so why are u making noise?their interest was in atiku.atiku will come and give the Igbo's all the key offices in the federal government in 20..........it can never happen. |

KenOne: Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) from the South-East region of the country.
The group, in a statement in Abakaliki on Thursday, said that will give the zone a sense of belonging in the President’s second tenure.
The statement signed by the President-General of OYC also congratulated the new National Assembly leadership elected on Tuesday.
The statement said: The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide had watched keenly the manipulated drama and scheme out of South East zone from the leadership of National Assembly, Judiciary and other Security apparatus of the country, but, rather than lamenting endlessly, we congratulate those who emerged as National Assembly leaders.
It is the will of the Almighty God, and we the younger generation of Ndigbo accept these realities as an act of fate, and we urge Igbo leaders to shield their battle swords and quietly go into “ime Obi” and restrategize ahead of time for the battle Royal ahead in 2023.
We should borrow a leaf from South-West who were in similar situations between 2007 till 2015 before they bounced back in the present moment with President Buhari.

stephenduru: An officer of the Nigerian Prisons Service, Idongesit Williams Ntia, has been fingered in an attempt to murder an Akwa Ibom man in Uyo.
It was reported that the officer in company of two of his colleagues, attempted to kill a certain Emem Ekanim, over a minor accident which occurred along Nnwaniba Road in Uyo, last week, between a commercial mini bus and a private vehicle belonging to the said officer.
The commercial mini bus was said to have ran into the back bumper of the prisons officer, although without much damage.
Narrating his ordeal, the victim, Emem Ekanim, said he was on transit along Nnwaniba Road when he saw the said officer and two of his colleagues beating up a mini bus driver who was obviously pleading for mercy.
Just like other passersby, Ekanim said he stopped by to intervene and pleaded on behalf of the mini bus driver who was at this time on the ground, begging to be spared and admitted being at fault.
Ekanim said it was while he was pleading on behalf of the driver that another passerby asked, who they were, he replied, prisons officers. The officer, Idongesit Williams Ntia, who was on mufti, pulled and cocked his gun, before using the butt of the same gun to hit him about four consecutive times in the right eyes.
He narrated that he was also beaten to pulp, with his clothes torn, while it took efforts of the crowd that gathered to save him.
After allegedly committing the offense, Ekanim said the officer and his colleagues jumped into his car and zoomed off.

lawalosky: The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the detention of policemen allegedly involved in the death of Miss Anita Akapson in Abuja on Saturday.
Idris also ordered immediate investigation of the incident in which the deceased was allegedly shot dead by a policeman, who later claimed that it was a “mistaken identity’’.
The deceased, believed to be a staff member of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), was allegedly killed close to her residence in Maitama, Abuja, by the police during an argument.
The number of policemen involved in the incident has not been established and police authorities have remained silent on it.
A statement by the Police Spokesman, acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, on Monday in Abuja, the I-G directed the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to commence the investigation.
Idris commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured that justice would be done in the matter.
“The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command is already in touch with the family.
“The public will be informed of the outcome of investigations into the incident,“ the statement said.
A similar incident occurred in July when a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Miss Angela Igwetu, was shot dead by a police officer in Abuja while on her way home with her friends..

Politics › Re: Atiku: Buhari Would Have Arrested Me If I Am Corrupt by losky83: 11:35pm On Oct 08, 2018 |
Ecstasy154: Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar says President Muhammadu Buhari would have ordered his arrest if he had evidence of corruption against him.
In a statement issued on his behalf by his campaign organisation, Abubakar said his emergence has thrown the camp of Buhari into confusion.
He also dismissed the allegation of the Buhari Campaign Organisation that he clinched the ticket of the opposition party as a result of financial inducement.
Abubakar said while he came out the top in a keenly contested exercise, such could not be said of Buhari.
“We are not surprised that there is confusion in the President’s camp. We expected that they would be thrown into a catatonic state knowing that HE Atiku Abubabakr’s emergence automatically means the coming end of their ignominious reign,” he said.
“That much was admitted by the President’s former running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare when he praised the emergence of HE Atiku as an ‘Eagle’ and ‘a cosmopolitan wazobia’ politician. Obviously, Pastor Tunde Bakare has foreseen that the era of 97% versus 5% has come to an end with the emergence of the pan Nigerian Atiku Abubakar.
“We ask how can the Buhari Campaign Organisation disparage the PDP Primary that produced His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, when even the President’s own wife, Aisha Buhari, has condemned the APC’s primary? Not only did Mrs Buhari condemn APC’s primaries, but she also described them as ‘unfair’ and lacking in integrity. Who can know President Buhari better than his wife.
“Eleven aspirants contested against His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, during the Presidential primary of the PDP. Every single one of them accepted his victory. President Buhari was the only candidate cleared by the APC to contest its primary, yet, a coalition of 5 aspirants are challenging his victory, that alone tells Nigerians his emergence is fraudulent.
“Nigerians know that Atiku Abubakar is the most investigated politician in Nigeria and any smear by the Buhari administration remains just that. With the vindictiveness of President Buhari, he would have arrested HE Abubakar if he had been found wanting.
“However, to set the record straight, we want to remind Nigerians that PDP’s primaries were genuine, free and fair. Atiku Abubakar got 1,532 votes in a contest televised live to millions of Nigerians. The All Progressives Congress’ primary, on the other hand, was a study in dictatorship and corruption. The sole candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, scored almost 15 million votes. How could that occur without rigging or manufacturing of faceless voters?”
Abubakar said various acts of corruption were being committed under the current administration, which he said caused Transparency International to classify the country as more corrupt now than it was three years ago.
He said the choice before Nigerians was between a candidate who has provided over 50,000 jobs to people in his personal capacity and the other under whom 11 million Nigerians have lost their jobs.
“No wonder Transparency International rated Nigeria as more corrupt today under Buhari than just three years ago when the PDP was in power,” he said.
“The scandals are too numerous, including the $25 billion NNPC contracts awarded without due process, the several padded budgets, the $41 million Ikoyi Apartment scandal, the recall, reinstatement and double promotion of pension thief and Buhari financier, Abdulrasheed Maina, the N200 million grass cutter scandal, and many others too numerous to mention.
“The choice before Nigerians in 2019 is a simple one. Nigerians have a choice of electing a lively candidate with a record of providing 50,000 jobs to Nigerians in his private capacity versus the lifelessness (apologies to President Donald Trump) of a candidate under whom Nigeria lost 11 million jobs and became the world headquarters for extreme poverty.
“Nigerians have a choice of a man who will provide an efficient and business-friendly solution to the herdsmen crisis and a man whose government said ‘giving land for cattle ranching is better than death.”
“It is very obvious that faced with such a choice that Nigerians would definitely vote for the man who will Get Nigeria Working Again, hence we are not surprised by this desperate statement from the Buhari administration that is so shameless that they made a man implicated in framing a man of God on spurious charges as their spokesman. If he can lie against a man of God, should Nigerians believe anything he says about the PDP and its candidate?”
