The mere fact that u do NOT own a stock that's billed for mark down DOES NOT change REALITY.
...and the reality is that even though u didn't gain from the said price differential, SOMEONE ELSE DID.
So in retrospect, the money WASN'T LOST.
...and by the way, u CAN NOT ASSUME A LOSS OVER WHAT U DONT OWN. So u can not calculate as loss, a stock u don't have a stake in.
Note that this is not an NSE thing. ...by convention, that's the practice as obtainable with every stock exchange around the globe. ...and so it's not up for any kind of debate.

I think I've explained it well enough for anyone to understand.

I have FBNH share I bought on secondary market for over a year now. I have never received dividend on it but I guess maybe because I don't have cscs account or something. But now I want to sell it before before opening a cscs account.
Is it possible for me to get all the accrued dividend if I sell it now and later do the paper work for the cscs account?
