cadmanspize: Tinubu power no reach... You may need to go bk to school & get some knowledge on nigerian constitution and tinubu no fit do am. They no born tinubu well... They don’t need to seize the state allocation. They will withhold the local Government funds and there is nothing your bunch of thieves can do about it. The governors are part of the problem of the country but they have support from their ppl the same ppl that will attack federal government on a daily basis |

Nonexisting: If you did youth service in the North especially in a local government office, you'll not be excited about this news. During my service, the LG chairman came to work once a month, at the beginning of the month precisely when LG allocation fund came. He would come to the office, share money and return to Abuja. It favored me though. What do you want them to do when the state government is embezzling all the money and just put them as figure head with zero accountability. Can a thief hold a thief accountable? |

flokii: You're wrong.. the SC judgement will revive the Local Government system in Nigeria that State Governors crippled so they can sit on LGA allocations and divert monies meant for grassroot development into their personal pockets. You don't know more than the SC judges. Don’t mind the kolo |

DMerciful: How did Yahaya Bello became a governor? Flawed judicial system that ratified a rogue that wasn't even in the ballot.
Fix your electoral system so that the process is credible and people with credibility can win elections and use the state resources judiciously!
You cannot be talking of fg govt controlling local gvt resources and still talk of federalism Is that what you can deduce from the Supreme Court judgement? Where did you see that federal Government will be controlling local government fund? Have you ever asked yourself why we blame the president for everything but never the governors? I am sure you are among those always calling the presidency but have never attacked your state governors for their reckless use of state funds. |

You really think so? You're just a naive small boy lol a naive small boy is better than someone that admits that governors misuse local Government funds and want it to continue because there is no Governor that has never misused local government funds. Way more foolish than I thought….lol |

Ojuntana: Use your brain. What Buhari wanted is totally different from this. What Buhari wanted would have made amending the constitution straightforward without the state govs stopping it with their selfishness. Once state legislatures are financially independent, they can take decisions without sucking up to govs. It was same SC that quashed it. Same SC is now giving fake autonomy that does not exist to LGs. It is intellectually fickle people like you that don't see the big picture. You are only transferring the gov's misuse of LG funds to the president. True federalism is when resources move from bottom up instead of the tickle down approach in use presently. Use your brain Kindly explain how is transferred to the president? Obviously you are not even using your brain…lol. |

Ojuntana: Oh really? Now you're back to the constitution. The same constitution that the supreme court just overruled and you clapped. So, the constitution is useful only when it suits you and when it doesn't, you simply discard it and use some means to overrule it. Your thinking is obviously shallow At least shallow thinking is better than a clown that supports an ex convict. An ex convict cannot lecture us about Nigerian Constitution. |

Deltatoto: everybody that has commented lack wisdom.See before you give financial autonomy to LGs which is appropriate, the first thg tinubu would have done is to ensure states don’t conduct elections for councils.Delta election is on Saturday and nobody is feeling as if there’s any election coming up because once Okowa writes your name down u have won.You cannot have a financial autonomy for ppl that are hand picked by the gov.Our LGs are highly dysfunctional because of the way they get into office. So in as much as I support LG financial autonomy, the first thg to have done is make sure their elections are conducted by inec so there can be competition in the process.U carry money give who governor Dey control then you have not achieved anything. Why do you that has to be the first thing? Even the one INEC conducted lol what was the result? |

Ojuntana: Have you ever heard of the maxim of he who pays the piper dictates the tune?
What Tinubu is trying to do is to invade the domains of the state govs by using the LGs. He knows like everyone else that the LGs were put under the states by the Constitution. You might not like it but that is how it is. The states are the gateways to the LGs. Expect ALGON, NULGE etc etc to soon release statements thanking Tinubu for this "landmark" move. Expect visits to Aso rock from them soon as well. It is a case of abuja boys vs the govs. If it was not, the NASS would have been the best place to achieve this without the assault on clear provisions of the constitution shows us the part of the constitution that allows the Governors to embezzle local Government share of the funds? |

Ojuntana: This is actually the part that gets me laughing. Folks like you make it sound like LG chairmen have been itching to develop their areas and it is the govs that has been inhibiting them. What grand delusions!
Most of the LG chairs are former and active political thugs of their godfathers. The few who are not are simply appendages and bootlickers. Secondly, how many LG chair are actually resident in their LGs as we speak?
Lastly, Tinubu is an hypocrite. When he was gov, he wouldn't let anyone touch his LG funds. He sanctimoniously preached true federalism and devolution of powers. He comes in and he starts taking steps to decimate and whittle down govs and states simply because he wants to control everything even to the smallest. This singular act has repudiated all the talk of federalism from him over the years. Shame on Ariwoola who allowed his court to be used to carry out a coup on the constitution. shut up! This rule with out leave Tinubu. Buhari tried to do same thing earlier so are you saying Buhari was interested in controlling everything? Does true federalism allow a governor to be an emperor? Does true federalism mean Governors can control local governments funds as they deem fit? |

When will you all learn to separate issues from personalities? We can deride Ibori for who he is but you can't fault this. He is even closer to Tinubu than all of you but he realises this fully negates the ideas and principles they harrassed OBJ for. What is more stomach-turning is using the SC to carry out such assault on the Constitution. Haba!! Shut up idiot! A convicted criminal cannot lecture us on constitution. In fact if you have sense at all you will know that since he was convicted for stealing state funds it only means he is among the Governors that abused the privileges. A person like him should not speak on important issues concerning this nation based on his record |

I am suggesting that federal govt should grant amnesty to these bandits. These bandits are no longer Boko Haram which is faith based rather they driven into banditry for economic reason - money. Like Yaradua did amnesty to Niger Delta youths, they stopped. Let Tinubu does same to bandits by paying them monthly stipends and make them surrender their arms and their criminal activities and embrace peace. Can you listen to yourself?
The Beginning of the whole thing : The Nigerian government had filed a suit at the Supreme Court against governors of the 36 states.
In the suit, the Federal Government is seeking full autonomy for the country’s 774 local governments.
The Federal Government also requested the Supreme Court to authorise the direct transfer of funds from the federation account to local governments — by the constitution.
This will be a good judgement for the Local Government as long as the Logal Government chairmen/women ain't thieves and rogues like their bosses.
Slow and steady we will get to the land flowing with milk and honey with barbecue 😋.
Anything to move our Darling country forward in all ramifications is what we want at MANNA.
INEC must start conducting free and fair elections from the local government. There should be a ban on politicians that uses violence to win Election. It must be free and fair and that is the only way the people can enjoy development |

You cannot impose a collosal failure on the people, no matter how tribalist or religious you get. Running Nigeria is bigger than Tinubu; dude has no innovative ideas. You cannot keep destroying this country and expect everyone to keep quiet.
Let's call a spade what it is. Nigeria needs a disciplined, frugal, energetic and innovative entrepreneur like Peter Obi to run it like a successful company. He should shut up. Buhari was a colossal failure but his father and himself never spoke out. They should just keep quiet |
