Phones / Google Officially Launches Google Go In Nigeria To Beat Slow Internet Speed. by loudtechy: 8:10am On Apr 23, 2018
Google understands the challenges of having a slow mobile, hence, the reason for applications like Files Go and YouTube Go, but they are not stopping at that! Google has officially launched Google Go into the Nigeria market —an app that provides a lighter, faster, way to search, with everything you need just a tap away .
The aim is to handle the challenges preventing people from getting the most out of the internet such as weak data connectivity, high data costs, and low RAM or storage space.
You can easily search for any info and at the same time see what's trending in your country with google go, there is also a discovery widget that allows you to access your favorite apps and websites with just one tap.
As said earlier, this app was developed to work with even the slowest of internet —even in data-saving mode or on 2G connections—to put that into perspective, Google says, the app uses up to 40% less data to display search results. There is also the fact that the search results are cached on your device so you can quickly re-access previous searches, even when you are offline.

Sounds interesting, right?

Phones / 3 Reasons You Should Never Get A New Phone Now by loudtechy: 10:19am On Feb 03, 2018
There’s always great things on the market to buy, but if intuition serves you right, something even better could be just over the horizon.
We’ve got to be straight with you: the start of the year is the worst time to buy a new smartphone. Don’t do it. Resist the urge. You’ll be rewarded by your patience in just a few months when 2018’s heavy-hitters swing for the fences.
If you’re waiting for the next flagship, we’ve listed the features worth waiting for below. And thankfully, the laws of supply and demand reward those looking for last year’s model on a discount, as well, so keep an eye on our updated list of best phones.
We’ve also added some models we expect to see deeply discounted as 2018 plows onward. Win-win.
Qualcomm’s new mobile chipset, Snapdragon 845, will bring the usual set of upgrades to 2018’s smartphones. As such, you can expect a boost in speed, an increased ability to handle robust applications with finesse, and greatly enhanced battery life for power users.
Touching more on the battery performance, we’ve been told that the Snapdragon 845 will yield 30% better performance when it comes to gaming, watching video, or using VR and AR applications.
It also has the potential to bring HDR video capture to smartphones packing the chipset, meaning you’ll have even more HDR content to share or watch on your HDR-ready screen, which are very likely be the standard moving forward for high-end phones.
This futuristic smartphone feature has been promoted from an “if” to “when” thanks to the launch of the Vivo X20 Plus UD. It takes the trusty fingerprint sensor and embeds it into the display, essentially making it invisible to the naked eye.
While no other 2018 flagship smartphones have been confirmed to carry an in-screen fingerprint scanner, is next trend for makers should jump on.
As far as how that will give you the advantage versus what your current phone has, it’s mostly a cosmetic gain at this point. When we saw Vivo’s smartphone at CES 2018, we noted that the fingerprint sensor built into the all-screen display works as intended, though noticeably slower than what we’ve seen implemented in even mid-range phones, let alone the cream of the crop.
Still, the cool factor is undeniable and it might be worth waiting for if a phone’s worth to you is tied to how it looks.
There are few technologies that have improved as quickly in such a short amount of time than the mini, but mighty cameras inside of a smartphone.
Just in the past three years, the pictures taken with the most expensive, capable devices on the market have gone from “not bad” to “pretty good” and recently, a bit further to “actually good”, which is what you’ll experience today with phones like the iPhone X, Google Pixel 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S8.
But of course, progress never ends, so this year’s flagship devices look to up the ante even more. Samsung is first, which will announce the Samsung Galaxy S9 at MWC 2018 at the end of February. The company has teased that it is taking its camera tech back to the drawing board, but hasn’t yet explained how exactly it will improve over last year’s excellent effort. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from providing a few unofficial, yet interesting details.
Samsung's big improvement seems to be the aperture, which is rumored to operate on a variable f/1.5-2.4 scale. The current leader in low-light shooting is the Google Pixel 2 thanks to its advanced machine learning camera software. It remains to be seen how the S9 will perform, but if the numbers provide the results we’re hoping for, the S9 could take the cake.
Other camera features that will play big into 2018’s most alluring phones are optical image stabilization (OIS) for both the front and rear-facing cameras, and packing in a dual-set of lenses for each side to make photos rich with depth and detail.
The unsung hero of what makes for a successful camera on a phone its software. While phones like the LG V30 made bigger promises than it could fulfill in terms of camera performance, its robust camera software made using practically any other phone’s snapper a bit dull in comparison.
Generally, it’s hard to fail at finding a worthy smartphone these days. Given the breadth of options available at a wide range of prices, there’s something for everyone. But if you’re only out for the best of the best, it’s worth waiting for the right time.
Thankfully, the time to buy has almost arrived.

Phones / 7 Things To Avoid To Keep Your Adsense Account Safe by loudtechy: 10:04am On Feb 03, 2018
AdSense is by far one of the best contextual and highest paying ad network for any blogger.
Adsense is very strict about AdSense TOS , and you have to take care of certain things to stop violating AdSense policies . We all know, getting Adsense approval is not that easy and we need to do many things to keep our AdSense account active.
Little out of context but since 2011, when Google launched Google Panda, they also made some major changes in Adsense quality guidelines. Especially, in 2011-2012 we have noticed many Indian and Pakistani Adsense publishers has been banned due to copyright violation and due to low-quality pages. Another major reason for Adsense ban is invalid click, which is altogether a big topic, and I will cover it on another post.
Though Google Adsense is very strict about the policies and as I mentioned on my previous post of why I removed Global Translator plugin to save myself from getting banned from Google Adsense
These are the simple mistakes you and Adsense publisher should avoid getting themselves banned:
This is where the maximum Adsense account gets into the danger zone. Most of publisher who starts with Adsense, they usually ask their friend to click on Ads or click on their Ads from different I.P. If Adsense team detect such activity, they put your account in disable mode to ensure and safeguard their Advertisers. Also, many new publishers ask their readers to click on ads, which is also discouraged by Adsense as stated in their
program policies
At the time of writing, Google doesn’t support all the languages to qualify for Adsense program. If you have approved AdSense account, and you are using it to show it on the blog whose language don’t qualify
Adsense TOS
Here is the list of AdSense supported language .
Sending Ads On Email:
Infolinks, BuySellads , Technorati Media, Viglink .
Altering The Adsense Code: So you are a programmer? Huh! Doesn’t matter. Changing your Adsense code in any ways is not permitted by Google.
Shading with Image: Placing Google Adsense Image ad unit with the adjacent image can be a great and smart move, but guess what? Do it and Google AdSense might ban you. Google TOS doesn’t allow the use of shading your AdSense image ads with the adjacent image.
Hosting Copyright Contents: If you are running Adsense on a site that distribute copyright content like Movies, songs or any other files, you are most likely to get an instant ban. Adsense doesn’t allow putting Adsense on the site that distribute copyright stuff.

Phones / Samsung Galaxy Note 9: What We Want To See by loudtechy: 9:27am On Feb 03, 2018
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is one of the biggest phones Samsung’s ever made, not to mention one of the best, and there’s no doubt that the company will follow it up later in 2018 with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
In fact, we’re already hearing the first rumors about that phone, and they suggest it could be even more futuristic than the iPhone X.
You’ll find everything we’ve heard about the Note 9 below, along with our own analysis and a selection of the features and improvements we most want to see.
Cut to the chase
What is it? Samsung's next flagship phablet
When is it out? Possibly August 2018
What will it cost? Probably at least $929 / £869 / AU$1,499
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 release date and price
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was announced on August 23 and released in September, while the short-lived Samsung Galaxy Note 7 followed a similar schedule the previous year.
So there’s a good chance that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be announced in late August 2018, before hitting stores possibly in mid to late September.
However, according to The Investor, some market watchers believe it could be unveiled in early to mid August instead. And the same site claims that Samsung has codenamed the phone 'Crown' and plans to have a prototype of it ready during the first quarter of 2018.
Whenever it does arrive it’s sure to be expensive. The Galaxy Note 8 retails for $929 / £869 / AU$1,499 and we can’t see Samsung lowering the price for the Note 9, especially now Apple has pushed smartphone prices even higher with its iPhone X.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 news and rumors
The biggest Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rumor relates to its fingerprint scanner, which could be built into the screen.
Both Samsung and Apple have been rumored to be working on this but failed to achieve it in time for their most recent handsets, pushing Samsung to move the scanner to a sub-optimal position on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8, while Apple ditched it altogether from the iPhone X.
The latest rumor on the subject comes from
analysts at KGI Securities , who reckon the in-screen scanner won’t be ready in time for the
Samsung Galaxy S9 , but will be done for the Note 9. If it is, Samsung could retain the all-screen front of its phone while still having a conveniently positioned scanner.
There's reason to believe it will be ready too, especially now that Vivo has demonstrated exactly this tech.
But there's a chance that Samsung will go even further with the Note 9, as it's patented a smartphone concept that has not just the fingerprint scanner but also the front-facing camera and sensors embedded in the display, for a truly bezel-free design. This might be too ambitious for a 2018 launch though.
That said, an even more ambitious goal for the Galaxy Note 9 could be for it to have a bendable display. This is something Samsung’s been working on for even longer, and there's suggestion that the tech could land in a phone
late this year .
However, it might still arrive too late for it to be used in the Note 9, and Samsung might not want to debut such an experimental tech on a major flagship.
Elsewhere, another patent may have given us a glimpse at what the Note 9 will look like, as Samsung has published a phone design with a screen that curves at the right edge, but oddly not at the left.
It’s an unusual look for a phone, and quite different to the Note 8, so we’re skeptical that it will be used for the Note 9, but you never know.
However the Note 9 looks, there's a chance that it will be made from a new material, as Samsung has trademarked ' Metal 12 ' - a material that's both strong and light.
And moving from the outside to in, The Korea Herald reports that Samsung might equip the Galaxy Note 9 with an NPU (neural processing unit). That's essentially an AI chip like Apple and Huawei have begun using in their flagships.
It's unclear what Samsung would use the chip for, but it could potentially speed up certain functions of the phone.
There's also a good chance the Note 9's iris scanner will get an upgrade , with Samsung reportedly upping the lens from 2MP to 3MP for the Galaxy S9, in which case we'd expect at least that for the Note 9. Apparently this will help it identify users in poor lighting, and it's also said to be faster than before.
And it could also have a new camera. It's likely to retain the Note 8's dual-lens camera, but there's some evidence that the Galaxy S9 could get a variable aperture snapper, meaning it can switch between two different apertures using a single lens, so this feature could also make it to the Note 9.
That’s all we’ve heard so far, but there are some things we’re fairly confident the Galaxy Note 9 will have. For one thing, it’s almost certainly going to have a large curved Super AMOLED display, an S Pen stylus and at least 6GB of RAM, since the Note 8 does.
Based on past models the Note 9 is also likely to sport whatever the top-end Snapdragon or Exynos chipset is at the time of its launch.
What we want to see
There are only a few Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rumors so far, but we have a good idea of the sorts of things we want to see from it, such as the following.
1. An in-screen scanner
This has been rumored and it would be a great headline feature for the phone. Having the scanner on the back is awkward, but building it into the screen would both be convenient and the sort of high-tech, futuristic thing that could see the Galaxy Note 9 stand out among other handsets.
We’re pretty sure Samsung is working on it, it’s just a question of whether it’s ready in time for the Note 9’s 2018 launch.
2. Room-filling sound
There are plenty of great things about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but its speakers aren’t among them.
It has just a single bottom-firing speaker, so for the Note 9 we want at least two speakers, and ideally for them to be positioned on the front of the phone, for sound that travels towards you when you’re looking at the screen.
Given how large the Note 9 is likely to be though, it could maybe even manage four speakers, for truly big sound.
3. Better Bixby
Bixby is one of the key new features of this year’s crop of Samsung flagships, but in its current form it leaves something to be desired, especially when it comes to understanding what you’re saying.
By the time of the Note 8’s launch we want it to be a true Google Assistant and Siri rival.
But however good it ends up being we also want to be able to remap the inevitable Bixby button, because not everyone is going to want to use it.
4. Two-day battery life
Samsung’s been conservative with the size of the battery in the Galaxy Note 8, understandably given what happened with the Note 7, but it’s meant that while the Note 8 should last you a day you’ll probably be plugging it in at night.
And it doesn’t charge as fast as earlier fast charging Samsung phones either.
That may have been a safety precaution as well, but if Samsung can find a way to deliver two-day life and truly fast charging with the Note 9, without risking an inferno, we’d be very happy.
5. Improved face scanning
Although the iPhone X’s Face ID is perhaps its headline feature, it’s not the first phone to sport face scanning. Nor is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but it does have it, it’s just not very secure, to the point where a still image can fool it.
So for the Galaxy Note 9 we want face scanning to return, but only if it’s a lot better. If it can prove more reliable than even Face ID then Samsung could be on to a real winner.
6. A similar price
Given that it’s likely to be one of the most high-tech phones of 2018 we don’t really expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy Note 9 at a lower price than the $929 / £869 / AU$1,499 Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
But if it can keep it around the same that would be something, and would see it undercut Apple’s top-end phones, given that the new iPhone X starts at $999 / £999 / AU$1,579.
7. Even less bezel
The front of the Galaxy Note 8 is almost all screen, but there’s still a sliver of bezel at the top and bottom.
We’d like to see Samsung reduce or remove that for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, perhaps along the lines of the Essential Phone or the iPhone X. Doing so would allow what’s always going to be a very big phone to be a bit more manageable, without having to shrink the screen.

Phones / Google Expands Control To Block Annoying Ads Following You On Every Site. by loudtechy: 4:37am On Jan 26, 2018
It seem you know those ads that follows you to every websites or blogs? You went to one site one time to check out a thing and bam! that site’s ads now pop up on every site you visit. Well, now Google will let you mute them.
Firstly, it may look like an odd move. Google makes money from its ads business, and giving advertisers free rein to stalk you on every site seems really good for companies hoping to remind you of that thing you checked out one time. But the search giant wrote in a blog post out today that it wants to give you, the consumer, more transparency and control.
It’s also good for business. Barraging you with reminder ads for the thing you are no longer interested in is not useful for you and is a waste for the business hoping to get you to come back.
Google uses the example of someone looking for snow boots, so we’ll go with that. You look up Snow Boots Co. for some research but decide to go with another type of snow boot not on that site, or just decide you’re no longer interested. That site might still be sending you ads, even though you’re not into them anymore. It’s very annoying to keep seeing everywhere the thing you don’t want. But now you can shut it all down by muting that advertiser.
You could already mute ads and adjust ad settings these past few years, but now Google is offering a way for you to mute those pesky reminder ads in a new control in Ad Settings.
It also will mute the ad across devices. So if you mute it on your smartphone, Google will mute that ad on your laptop.
It also plans to roll out the new controls on more platforms in the future, like YouTube, Search and Gmail.
On top of all that, Google is expanding controls for another unwanted ads feature it implemented in 2012 that allows you to mute ads you don’t want to see anymore.
“Millions of people use Mute this Ad on a daily basis, and in 2017, we received more than 5 billion pieces of feedback telling us that you mute ads that aren’t relevant,” Jon Krafcik wrote on the Google post explaining the updates. “We incorporated that feedback by removing 1 million ads from our ad network based on your comments.”
Of course, these updates only affect ads rolled out within Google, so you may still see reminder ads from other places. It also can’t get rid of the annoying barrage of ads from your Facebook and Instagram feeds.
The good news is all you have to do to shut down those annoying reminder ads now is go to Google’s Ad Settings to see the ads currently targeting you and hit mute.

Webmasters / The Best Free Seo Tools For 2018 by loudtechy: 10:31pm On Jan 19, 2018
One of the largest technology websites in the world, is visited by millions of users each month, the majority of them coming through Google and other search engines.
The web is awash with SEO tools and resources, but it pays to do your homework first and pick your kit carefully. Just like the practitioners within the search marketing industry itself, there's the good the bad and, well, the ugly. Here is our list of five of the best free tools around today.
Check out the best web hosting of 2018
1. Google Search Console
Even if you're not headstrong on SEO, whatever the size of your site or blog, Google's laudable Search Console (formerly Webmaster Central) and the myriad user-friendly tools under its bonnet should be your first port of call. The suite of tools gives you valuable information about your site at a glance: it can assess your site's performance and observe potential problems to troubleshoot (like negative spammy links), help you ensure your site is Google-friendly and monitor Google's indexing of your site.
You can even report spam and request reconsideration if your site has incurred a penalty. Plus, if you don't refer to their Webmaster Guidelines now and again, well, you've only yourself to blame if you go wrong. A new version of Search Console is due to be rolled out imminently and will include additional functionality such as Index Coverage, Job posting, Search performance and AMP status as well as an updated user interface (finally!).
2. SEOQuake
SEMRush’s SEOQuake is one of the most popular toolbar extension adored by millions. It allows you to view multiple search engine parameters on the fly and save and compare them with the results obtained for other projects. Although the icons and numbers that SeoQuake yields might be unintelligible to the uninformed user, skilled optimisers will appreciate the wealth of detail this add-on provides.
Gauge details about number of visitors and their country, get a site's traffic history trended on a graph, and more. The toolbar includes buttons for a site's Google index update, backlinks, SEMRush ranking, Facebook likes, Bing index, Alexa ranks, web archive age and a link to the Whois page. There’s also a useful cheat sheet and diagnostics page to have a bird’s view of potential issues (or opportunities) affecting a particular page or site.
3. Google AdWords keyword planner
Knowing the right keywords to target is all-important when priming your web copy. Google's free keyword tool, part of Adwords, couldn't be easier to use. Plug your website URL into the box, start reviewing the suggested keywords and off you go. Jill Whalen, CEO of HighRankings.com is a fan and offers advice to those new to keyword optimisation: "make sure you use those keywords within the content of your website.
It's really a question of being descriptive as keyword phrases typically describe what you offer. Think about the fact that you're trying to answer someone's question at the other end of the search engine. They're typically searching Google because they have a question or a problem to solve. Make your website answer those questions and solve those problems and it will be the one to show in the search results."
4. Google Optimise
Yet another Google tool on that list (not a surprise isn’t it). Optimise is not for the faint hearted and will make even seasoned SEO experts uncomfortable. SEO isn't all about rankings and without the right balance of content that engages with your visitors and drives conversions, you're earnest optimisation could be wasted.
Google’s free service helps take the guesswork out of the game, allowing you to test your site's content: from simple A/B testing of two different pages to comparing a whole combination of elements on any given page. Note that in order to run some of the more complicated multivariate testing, you will need adequate traffic and time to make the results actionable, just as you do with Analytics.
5. Live Keyword Analysis
Any seasoned search engine optimisation specialist will tell you keywords matter, and while simply clawing keywords into your text arbitrarily can do more harm than good, it's worth ensuring you have the right balance. Live Keyword Analysis is a breeze to use: simply type in your keywords and then paste in your text and your keyword density analysis will be done on the fly. Don't forget to proof and edit your text accordingly for optimum readability. A must for website copywriters especially as you don’t need to register or pay for anything.
