Good job you're doing here. Please what are the things NYSC can accept as evidence of husband's state of residence for married female pcm for purposes of the ongoing registration? |
So, MTN on Wednesday 2/12/15 suspended my line until Thursday when I had to go to their office to update my SIM and had it working again. To my surprise, I got a text from MTN that my line has been credited with N500 as a reward for updating my registration. While still basking in the euphoria of this unusual gesture of a renowned stingy network provider like MTN, I got another text on Friday that my number has been credited with N10,000 worth of airtime to expire in 7 days as compensation for suspending and having me update my SIM. Please Nairalanders can someone confirm to me if I'm really safe from this unprecedented generosity from MTN. I'm still somewhat in a state of shock disbelieve. |
Using the Igbos as a case study where the payment of bride price as well as church wedding is predominant as a means of marriage, when will a person, regardless of sex, be said to be married to all intent and purpose? Is it upon payment of bride price or unless and until a church wedding takes place or both? This thread is predicated on the incessant arguments between the pro-bride price group, and the pro-church wedding group. More so, it is not uncommon to see cases where a girl will tarry at her parents house after all native marital rites as per payment of bride price has been completed unless and until she is wedded. Just like some girls will move in right away into a man's house without any church wedding once her bride price has been paid or even the man demanding her to move in with him as of right . Both scenarios have most often than not generated arguments as to why must she wait till a wedding takes place, or why must she move in with him without wedding him in addition to bride price payment. I have no doubt that some Nairalanders or someone close must have at one point or the other been in this situation. Let us share our informed and or well considered opinions on this topic. Good enough I happened to be present in that Court today when the Ruling of Hon. Justice Ajumogobia was being delivered. One really needed to see the broad, big smile on FFK's face as he was being discharged and acquitted on Counts 1 to 24 and Counts 27 to 40. The guy just dey form 'badt guy' levels as in him too much . Truth be told, the grounds of law on which the learned Justice discharged him of those 38 Count Charges were so on point (only if you're legally minded o) . But he still has much to worry and sweat about with the retained two Count Charges he's been called upon to enter his defence come 8/12/14. So, let all folks here who are uninformedly condemning the Judge, the judiciary and GEJ hold their peace. It's not over yet wt FFK until it is completely over. Somethings were most noticeable as per the principles of law upon which the Judge gave her Ruling: 1) Neither FFK nor GEJ wrote those laws 2) The Judge applied the law as it is written and ought to be applied vis-a-vis the circumstances of the case and 3) the Judge is not the author of those laws. One may suggest we cut 'them' some slacks instead of misplaced and pointless hurling of insolence. MY 1 CENT! |
Great that this Judgment made it to the front page. I was present in that Court the day the judgment was delivered. That is the 19th June, 2014 at National Industrial Court 2, Lagos Division. It was such a detailed and thorough judgment. I can still recall the broad smiles on the face of the big man - the victorious Claimant. |
