The trip fare you see at the end of a ride is calculated by adding:
- base fare: the price for pickup
- time: from start to end of trip
- distance: miles or kilometers of route
- surge pricing (if applicable)
- tolls (if applicable)
This amount is charged to the rider.

Your payment for the trip is calculated as: ((base fare + time rate + distance rate) * surge multiplier)) - Uber fee + tolls .

Lagos Rate. N400 base fare + N90/km + N9/minute (N400 minimum fare/N1000 Cancellation fee).

This means that you are not paying much when in traffic.

The truth is that Uber has taken advantage of a system like Nigeria where anything goes .. they know that the unemployment rate here is so high and has has provided hustling opportunities for lagosians, even though this is not a proper job with medical,insurance and all that but at least it pits food on the table for the man on the street. i feel so sad when interviewing drivers at times as a partner , there are lots of graduates and foreign masters holders looking for a car to drive on the platform.

Morning People,

My Toyota Camry 's Slip indicator light came some days ago , my suspicion is that it could have something to do with my Kazeem changing brake pads as that the only recent work that has was done last week. I will appreciate if any one can provide information on what could be the cause.

5W-40 is usually full synthetic. If its Total Quartz 9000 5W-40 u used (cost #8,500 for 5 litres but now #11,000 this year), its API category SN/SM which applies for 2011 and older engines (backwards compatible). However, be careful with rapid swapping of oil grades...I have seen an engine damaged (crankshaft, main bearing, piston) within weeks of switching to the said 5W-40 (so high cost of oil does not exactly grant safety from engine damage). Don't panic; if you already using the 5W-40 and have not noticed any issues or changes in performance...just be consistent with it...don't keep changing the specs.

General rule: stick with manufacturers specs (especially for newer cars with low mileage i.e. less than say 100,000 miles)
Where the specs are not available, get something close enough. (You may not need to order from abroad) Just take time to research the various brands available locally. Go to major filling stations with well stocked lube shop.

Nice write up as usual Oga Sienna.

I used Castrol 5w40 as against the 0W20 recommended for my car based on a friend's advice that they are within the same temperature range. I will appreciate if I can get someone to confirm what the possible effects will be negatively or positively.

What's the effect on the Engine and I hope it won't affect the car if I change to synthetic oil
