"one man's meat is another man's poison" the reception of nilesat 201 is better than nilesat 102 in eastern part of Nigeria I.e Enugu/Onitsha etc!..there is huge improvement on the TPs that has migrated to nile201..tp:11900V gained 12% and 12149H gained about 28%,11919H about 30% on the meter reading! due to the fact that nilesat102 is getting weaker! and the horizintal Tps on nilesat 102 are very weak especially 12149H 11919,12226H... and 11900V,another reason is that! On nilesat 201 ku band coverage..the fringe reception in nigeria is coming from two/2 directions north Africa and the coverage that stretched down to some part of east africa..that means if you @ the eastern part of Nigeria and close to east Africa ..you will also receive the 46dBW that crossed over east Africa instead of far north Africa coverage!an andvantage to south-eastern part of nigeria while some part of southwest of Nigeria like lagos etc may suffer from nilesat 201 reception..that means likely nilesat 102 receptions will be better than 201 in lagos or other towns near lagos etc!
Why you should be happy for tp migrations?nilesat102 will be removed from 7west 2015..while 11938V need to move to 201 to fill up the remaining transponders on nilesat201 before filled up..if nilesat 202 is not launched..that means 11938Vmbc may disappear from 7west or move to another sat which may be harder to receive!fingers crossed..lol

Good to hear from you!from the look of things,if my calculations are correct, out of 24 transponders on nilesat 201.. 20 tp has been used!while 4 Tp left!waiting for MBC tp 11938V and 12226H to fill up the remaining 4 transponders on 201! In the meantime no reliable news on the launch of nile202 as back up for 201..fingers crossed!

Who has experienced this with his srt4669xii: d box comes on very well but not even the strong logo comes on the screen. Just nothing comes on the screen as if tere is an AV problem. But, changing the AV cord doesn't yield any positive dividend. Punching tthe remote control buttons cause the eye on the srt to blink but nothing on the screen as if the box is not connected which before was working perfectly.

Free to Air (FTA) allows you to watch satellite channels free without subscriptions. You can receive signals from any broadcasting satellite which does not encrypt (scramble) it's channels. FTA is what most people are familiar with since Strong decoders are used for getting these signals.

Free to View (FTV) most often runs on a paid platform, but allows you to watch some channels free even though your subscription has expired. An example is when you use a decoder that has a subscription plan of N4,000 monthly. After the subscription expires, most satellite pay tv will scramble all of the channels so you have to pay for subscription if you want to watch any channel. However, if the satellite pay tv offers FTV, they will allow you to watch some select channels even after your N4,000 subscription expires.

graphicicon: thatnks for your response, let me clarify you a bit, that LNB is working properly and the DiseqC is also working properly because i used my sat finder on that the same LNB and DiseqC and the same TP 12.522 V on that the same dish and all the pictures are showing well, so lets forget about these items, lets focus on this Decoder that is unable to give sufficient power to the DiseqC to control frequency up to 12.522 which is multi tv TP.

if it is a strong decoda den check d lnb freq range unda dish setting fo astra 2f d multitv sat. it shd b somfing like 9750/10600 & not 9750/10750. hp ds helps.

Tx. To track it, you use only MPEG 4. The channels are Free to View (FTV), not Free to Air(FTA). They can only be watched with the Consat decoder.

Talenty: I tried all I could to track MBC on badr 4 with 1.8 meters in Benin city but no way. All I could I get was MBC HD @ Badr 6 and Algeria MUX @74%. where do I get Technosat T876 or any other receiver to view these channels?

d last time i captured those channels they were called ajs & not bs & d sat was AB7 @ 7 west using my 90cm dish. about 2 of them were free then. but based on the veracity of info presented by other forum members u'll have to exercise patience till bs resurfaces once more.

d MBC bouquet b don do bye to us a long time ago. it was too good to last. d SA boys also can do all to secure dia interest. so, d solution is to fall back on d BUDs or get d technosat hd boxes dat open MBC package in badr 4/6 even wt as low as 65 to 90cm dishes.

I guess that badr 5 on 26 east or nilesat on 7 west can give u d bird wt dat dish size. however if d tp carries hd channels na dey wey trobul go catch u.
