Gunmen Invade Oyo Secondary School, Abduct Principal And Students, Shoot Teacher.

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the incident, which reportedly occurred between 8:00am and 9:00am, throwing the agrarian community into panic.

Gunmen on Friday invaded Community High School in Ahoro-Esinele community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting the school principal and an unspecified number of students in yet another violent attack targeting schools in Nigeria.

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the incident, which reportedly occurred between 8:00am and 9:00am, throwing the agrarian community into panic.

According to the police, the attackers stormed the school premises during school hours and forcefully whisked away the principal, identified as Mrs Rachael Alamu, alongside several students whose exact number had yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report.

The spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Friday.

“Gunmen have invaded Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting the principal of a secondary school and an unspecified number of students,” the statement said.

Police further revealed that a teacher was shot during the attack, although the severity of the injury remained unclear.

“The source also said a teacher was shot during the attack, though the extent of the injury has not been confirmed,” Olayinka added.

According to residents, the armed men escaped with the abducted principal in her vehicle before fleeing into a forest reserve bordering the community.

Sources in the area said the attackers operated for several minutes without resistance, allegedly due to the distance of the nearest police station from the community, which delayed emergency response efforts.

“The gunmen fled the scene with the principal in her vehicle and escaped into a forest reserve bordering the community,” the police statement noted.

The incident has heightened fears among residents over worsening insecurity in rural communities and the increasing vulnerability of schools to attacks by armed groups.

The latest abduction adds to the growing list of attacks on schools across Nigeria, where terrorists, bandits and armed criminal groups have repeatedly targeted students and teachers for ransom.

In November 2025, SaharaReporters reported that terrorists invaded St. Mary’s Papiri Private Catholic Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, abducting an unspecified number of students and teachers during a midnight raid.

Meanwhile, the police command said the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State had ordered immediate deployment of tactical teams and other security operatives to the area for rescue operations and assessment.

Authorities, however, did not disclose whether contact had been established with the kidnappers or if any ransom demand had been made.

As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the abducted principal and students remained unknown.

One Nigeria
Means Yorubaland belongs to Yorubas who rule it
Hausaland belongs to Hausa who rule it
Igboland belongs to Igbos who rule it
Together they make up One Nigeria
And when you come out of your caveman thinking
We will all meet up at the Center together

One Nigeria meant that Ore and Yorubaland were not the Property of Ojukwu that was why Biafra received such a very heavy and memorable pounding there and in the Midwest
Na lie.

One Nigeria means south west is no man's land and every Nigerian have equal right.

"One Nigeria" can only be practised in Yoruba land alone, right? "One Nigeria", "one love", but you're using the resources of my own land to develop your own people while you neglect the natives. That's stupid one Nigeria— It wont fly, man!
Stop crying and enjoy one Nigeria while it last.

In one Nigeria you will keep seeing those you were taught from kid by your parents to hate enjoying the good that comes from south west too, because it's one Nigeria you people fought for.😂🤣🤣🤣

do you know the funny thing about this is that after when they are all been sent away the new people will still appoint igbos one way or the other do you know why? Because the igbos are well traveled people and they travell they build relationship which opens doors.
Now the funny thing again is even the so called Yoruba bigot who grew up with several hate against the igbos will still have an igbo friend either from childhood or so who they both have a good relationship, if he gets to power he will put his bigoted coat away and help that good igbo friend of his over his so called Yoruba brothers. So all your hate won't stop us. We igbos will be all over ure faces till they kingdom comes and there is nothing u can do about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Delulu.
Yorubas have been doing that system even before Igbos ventured into business.
What makes me laugh is ascribing it as Igbo system.
In the world,a lot of tribes do it with different variances but the one you explained was being practiced by Yorubas before Igbos started doing business.
The...live with your boss and serve him for some years... and a couple of other modern variances which look like the European system also exist among the Yorubas especially in fashion, carpentry etc.
In trading among the Yorubas, the one you narrated still exists between apprentices and their bosses.I had a couple of them in my extended family.

Why will he give them money to establish them ? Is he their father. You seem to like the idea of people establishing people. If you gave me N20k to learn my trade and after two weeks you learnt very well is it not enough that I thought you ? I should now Establish you ? That is why African apprenticeship is covert slavery someone works for you , wishing your clothes going to the market for you for seven years you drain the person of all there power after seven years you give them the salary of 5 years.

Esther was Once Black and Broke, When Esther see money ....... " Establish "
And if your parents are poor and can't afford to start up the business for you upon completion of your learning.

What is the way forward for youths like that?

No wonder rich continue becoming rich and poor remain poor in your tribe.

But in Igbo land,a boy from poor family will go serve in rich man business,in next 7,9,10 years, the riches will start reflecting on his own family.

That's why a boy his family can't afford to buy a car can become car seller after someone years serving that rich man selling cars.

You see it as slavery but Igbo see opportunities.

Everything depends on the Way you see it.

Winneepye:
Apprrenticeship is used everywhere not only in the ibo culture. The only difference is that igbos have introduced settlement with money because they are mostly traders.
In yoruba culture your parents make payment the trainer, they agree on the number of years, on the day of your graduation your parent must buy the equipment for the work your trainer can also dash you money if you impress him or her.
The government has introduced technical schools to make training free. The issue now is that ibos are predominantly traders government will have to use the traditional apprenticeship method to get the youths who are interested in trading.
Apprentices is everywhere even in Igboland.

But Igba boi is in Igbo land or among Igbos outside Igbo land.

Both are not the same.

I don't know why you guys are running around just because a credit was given to Igbo.

Normal Apprentice in Igboland and everywhere, you meet your master, pay to learn the business or work for a particular period of time.
Come to learning the work from your house, and do whatever you like at home and your boss won't put eyes for you.
You can even marry that period you are learning it's not your boss concern.
After learning you go your way look for money to start your own business or work.

Mind you this are for people that have family capable to sponsor their business after learning.

Igba boi, your parents hand you over to your boss, you become part of his family for the period you will staying with him,
He feed you, clothes you, pay your hospital bill and all other bills.
You as nwa boi do everything a son at home or servant will do.
You can't have a girlfriend unlike the other apprentice.

After the Years of serving 5 to7, depending, Your boss will settle you by giving you money to start up business, and give you grace to still live in his place unit over one year when you stand on yourself a bit.
Sometimes in those Years of serving you will see your people two times depending on your location and the towns/States of you and your Boss.

The Igbo apprentice system (Igba boi)being discussed is different, you guys shouldn't trying water it down by saying it's everywhere.

It is called Igbo apprentice system because is not the usual apprentice system you know.

It Igbo name is igba boi.

Whether it's free or paying it bolis down to the same thing. I know a guy who used to train absolute novices in customised fashion for just two weeks and after two weeks they become masters of the trade.

Omo Seven years long o. Just to do rudimentary things it takes seven years.

My guy used to even teach people in just 3 days and they knew everything he knew.

That Seven years is exploitation. Some people will turn you into houseboy because they want to teach you. You will be washing their clothes. Is that what they came to learn ?
And after two weeks he will give them money to establish their own business?

You are just pain and dragging what you have no knowledge of.

It is simply a way to pass on knowledge. It did not originate from anywhere and there is absolutely nothing special about it. I know a guy who will turn you into an expert of his trade in just two weeks and you can even keep on calling him by phone till eternity for advice. My guy gives you one month to learn. Learn or dont learn he will bounce you after one month and you can keep on calling him for advice forever which he will give you. He says he does not believe in turning people into slaves.
See what you are doing yourself because of una hat!red for Igbos.

You don't want to hear or believe anything good from Igbos.

How those things you say related to Igba boi Igbos practices?

Learning work is not the same as igba boi.
