Relationship is an important aspect of a man’s life
and the fact that a young man is financially
handicapped does not mean he has no right to be
normal. This simple steps will really help…
We need not tell you that things are hard in the
society; the economy is not favorable at this time but
then life must continue.
We would not stop living because we do not have
enough money to throw around or stop doing the
basic things in life generally. Relationship is an
important aspect of a man’s life and the fact that a
young man is financially handicapped does not mean
he has no right to be normal.
As a matter of fact; without having enough money to
spend, one could divert one’s energy into doing other
things that would ease off the tension that might
have mounted as a result of being broke. It is quite
possible for a man to find happiness in a woman
even when he does not have enough money to throw
around.
We would be sharing cost effective tips on the things
a man could do to get a girlfriend. After all, a man
who does not have money to throw around on a
woman is expected to possess other qualities that
would make up for his inadequacy when it comes to
finances.
Find below some of the things a man could do to
get a woman without spending much:
1. Being light hearted
By being good natured, you are bound to meet more
people as you carry on with your daily routine. Learn
to smile once in a while and lend out support to
whoever needs it at that moment. Before you know it,
your reputation would precede you and speak for
you.
Your body language also would help you a lot as
people would always study you. You do not want to
be seen or known as the weird guy. Happiness is key
and it should reflect in everything you do.
2. Being straight
Your personality matters a great deal, you cannot
afford to be seen as broke and yet be chasing
everything in skirts. The interpretation the ladies
would have of you would be spelt as a potential
liability.
While being a single, cultivate good habits that would
eventually become a point of strength when you are
in a relationship. These virtues cannot be bought by
money and it would make women choose you over
money at times.
3. Carefully select your friends
While you are trying to make the right decisions at
your own level, having certain friends around you
would not help. Since you do not have enough
money to throw round, you should not take out a lady
you want to ask out with your friend whose financial
status overshadows yours.
While you may call it a twin date or whatever name
you find for it, it would be the perfect time to make
the lady you like see your flaws.
She would be able to make open comparison
between you and your friend who spends more for
his woman and appears to be more loving.
4. Be witty
Everyone is tensed; the stress of having to go to work
daily and get through the basic routine of life could
be draining. If you want to get a girlfriend without
spending much, then you would have to apply the
charms you have and make her laugh.
While turning on the joker instinct in you, please
check her body language to be sure you are not
boring her out. This trait would no doubt make you
have enough friends from the opposite sex, this
would make whoever you ask out eventually to fall in
love with you in totality.
5. Be responsible
Every woman wants to be associated with
responsible men; you should know this and work it
into your personality. No one is asking you to
pretend, good manners can be cultivated. You do not
want to strike people around as a drunk and you
definitely want to be taken serious.
When you have the right attitude and you are
responsible, you would be confident of yourself and
would be able to assess situations well. Ladies
around you would see you as being purpose driven
and would be glad to walk into the future with you.
6. Do not be all about se x
We understand you want to get laid and feel yourself
from time to time; the only issue here is you have to
sit down and ask yourself what you really want.
Being tagged as a player would not help you in this
quest of finding a girlfriend. Naturally, ladies are
always sensitive when it comes to sex and they want
to be sure you do not want them for sex alone.
Ladies would be confident around you when they see
you are not pushy when it comes to sex

The Federal Government
has dispel the rumours
making rounds that the
National Youth Service
Scheme (NYSC) has
been scraped.
This was contained in a
statement credited to
the special adviser to
the resident on Media &
Publicity, Garba Shehu.
According to him, "NYSC is a creation of the law. Only another
law can repeal it."
The public are therefore advised to disregard the rumours as it
is unfounded. |
170! JAMB Official Cut-off Mark now 170 I believe those that scored above 170 but below 180 will read this post with lovely smile. There will be no admission for candidates who scored less than 170 in the last Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) following the decision of the Joint Committee on Admission to peg the National cut-off point at 170. However, JAMB said yesterday that results of 16,000 candidates out of the 22,395 candidates earlier withheld on account of examination malpractices have now been released. Registrar and Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that the national cut-off points was jacked up from 180 last year to 170 this year to reflect the improvement in the performances of candidates in the last Examination. He, however, expressed concern that some states would not be able to fill their quota of university admission in the coming academic year even if the cut off marks was to be reduced to 150. He said he had asked the various degree- awarding institutions to adopt a system of differential cut-off marks in order to bridge the gap between educationally less developed states and the others. The JAMB registrar said the differential cut- off marks for the states which will be lower than the national one were yet to be decided upon by the relevant body, adding that in arriving at a decision, the body would take into consideration how many candidates sat for the examination in such state and the performances of the candidates. Ojerinde explained that in a situation where a particular state presented only 731 candidates for the UME, there was no way such a state could meet its admission quota, even if it was given a differential cut-off marks, adding that ''It's a way of bridging the gap.'' He also disclosed that additional 16,000 results out of the 22, 395 earlier declared withheld by JAMB on account of examination malpractice had now been released following the decision of the relevant committee of the board to release the results. He, however, said those whose results are yet to be released will not get any result as the committee had decided that the results be cancelled. Similarly, Ojerinde said 6,000 scripts could not be scanned by the computer following the inability of the students to comply with relevant instructions on shading of the answer sheets. He regretted that parents have been besieging his office seeking for explanation for the non-release of their wards results, and warned that parents should not visit the sins of their children on JAMB. According to him, JAMB will now have to charge N25,000 to the production of the answer script of any candidate who insists on seeing it. ''This particular script is like an art work and the candidate wants result. You can't reap where you did not sow, shading the correct column is part of the examination,'' Ojerinde said, while producing the script of a candidate. Please Share this NEWS, It might Help a SOUL. SO IF U KNOW UR RESULT IS ON PENDING 4GET ABOUT IT..!!! WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR |

The Education Rights Campaign, Obafemi Awolowo University
Branch, condemns the proscription of Unilag students' union. It
will be recalled that students embarked on a protest to press
home their demands for better welfare (especially, with exams
approaching), but got the response of a collective
victimization from the management of the institution with an
autocratic emergency school closure. It is paradoxical, that an
institution that is supposed to teach students to solve societal
problem is unable to solve the welfare problem of a relatively
small university community but responds with repression and
intimidation of students, and that can only mean insensitivity
and irresponsibility. It is therefore necessary for us to clarify
ourselves on this crisis against the blackmail and the
misrepresentation of the scenario by the University Authority,
so as to portray students as the cause of the crisis and to
paint them and the union as miscreants to the public. From
the response of the management through the Registrar of the
University, it was presented that the students turned a deaf ear
to the call towards resolving the crisis before it escalated; but
this assertion of the management is untrue as the Students'
Union had embarked on series of steps of decent
communication before resorting to protests. It was this
breakdown of discussions that forced students to embark on
the peaceful protest. Meanwhile, it is pathetic that students
have to agitate before the management can actually take up
its responsibilities of providing conducive learning environment
and better living conditions.
Some months ago, the students also had to embark on a
protest on a case of bedbugs which also led to the closure of
the institution. Also recently, premedical students have had to
sue the management over the attempts to exploit them and
forfeit their careers. All these issues resulted to protests on
the same campus, due to the hardheartedness of the
management. Upon this, it is obvious that the management's
aim to criminalize the protest of the students is the motive for
presenting it as the reason for the proscription of the Students'
Union. On this note, we wish to condemn the report of the
investigative panel on the protest of the students and the
recommendations of the committee of Provost and Deans
constituted by the management on this matter. This action
instituted by the management is absolutely undemocratic. The
root cause of the protest was premised upon the fact that the
management was unconcerned to the students plights. As a
result the management cannot stand to be innocent in the
investigation of this matter. In a situation where this holds,
nothing democratic should be expected, more importantly any
resolution or recommendation in this despotic committee will
be centered to clamp down on the students and to impede on
the students' democratic rights.
Noteworthy is the fact that the Students' Union at some point
was placed under undemocratic proscription by the
management for nothing less than a decade before it was
later restored after consistent agitation of the students. Ever
since the restoration, the management of the Unilag has been
exploring different ways to re-place the union under another
proscription as a result of the actions of the students to
always challenge the highhandedness of the authorities which
obviously does serve as a threat to the genuine interest of the
students. The attempt has always been modified with different
ways of influencing the elections of the students' union in the
past, to ensure pliable union leaders. The union till this recent
proscription, is yet to be totally independent of the forces of
the university management.
Thus, we call for the democratization of the decision making
organ of the institution comprising all the stakeholders in the
university community including all academic and non-
academic staff union and the democratic student
representatives. Albeit all this, we advise the management that
the incessant closure of the institution cannot serve as a
panacea to the students' unrest, in as much the social cum
material conditions which necessitate the protest remain
unsolved by the management and to also desist from
blackmailing the students in order to cover up its impunity. We
demand that management should accede to the demands of
the students if truly it is sincere in maintaining a stable
academic calendar and improving the welfare condition of the
students. Of course, we condemn vehemently the
conditionalities set up by the management for the re-opening
of the institution stating that the students should sign an
undertaking form while the parents and guardians must also
sign indemnity form. According to the management, this is to
ensure that the students will be of good behaviour and always
abide by the rules and regulation of the institution. We in the
ERC maintain the stance the students have always been of
good behaviour, but wherever it seems that the students
violate the rules and regulations, it is the management that is
always responsibly for the act, by impeding on the
fundamental rights of the students and subjecting the
students to grievous hardship which threatens the welfare and
security of the students. Also, the acceptance of this condition
by the students, the parents and guardians give students the
blame of the unrest and further blackmail the struggle.
We hereby advise the students also that upon resumption,
frantic efforts should be made to defy (in practice and
principle) the order of proscription of the students' union
towards the assertion of the independence of the Students'
Union. Series of organized campaign must be embarked upon
by the Students' Union, to link the struggle to the proper
funding of the university by the government, financial
accountability and transparency of the university funds, the
democratization of the decision making organ of the university
including genuine students' representatives amongst others.
This is the only practical way to avoid further clamp down on
the students which may definitely manifest in form of the
expulsion or suspension of the students leaders and other
forms of victimization.
.
