PoliticsHuman Rulership Will It Solve Their Problems? by luap1990(op): 8:37am On May 29, 2019
Every four years, after the restoration of democratic rule in Nigeria, on 29 May 1999, there has been the transition of government powers, from different political parties and individuals, at different organs and levels of government.
Today is another carnival of a power shift in Nigeria. Will this change favour the hoi polloi or the comprador bourgeois? It is a question with embedded in itself. Man to man bossy has been since the start, his greediness has caused him and his progeny much more of ruthless cataclysm- senseless war, hunger, pollution, diseases. Despite human every effort to bring and achieve peace, an attempt is always foiled by his greedy intrinsic. Much accolade and reverence to this international organisation, in trying to bring about peace. In a bid to make peace, the United Nations, has her own group of soldiers- the United Nation, peacekeeping Force but has there been peace? Only for the 5 permanent security members to divide and rule, warn other members to discontinue nuclear power propagation, exploits the resources of the naive developing nations to themselves to their our nations. Is it their problem or our problems?
Let come home, elected or appointed officials scoop the public money as if oil. Will any sensible man steal what does not belong to him,? A public fund is a trust fund entrusted in their care, for the looters that are a sign of cerebral imbalance, lack of mental wellbeing, demented and manic in their thoughts. Insane cannot beget sanity. What is bad is bad, and what is good is good. Conclusively, Man in his abilities and capacity cannot bring a lasting solution to fellow man problems.

On the malpractice cases by states, Plateau came first with 21.31 percent, followed by Oyo, which has 19.97 percent.

I didn't doubt this news report, Plateau should wake up. I remembered early last year while on plateau serving in one of the secondary schools in the state. School where teacher dressed in school uniform in the exam hall. The principal asked me to supervise the English Language exam, the WAEC examiner with some teachers involved in exam malpractice, students threatened. It is a sorrowful state of affair.

Christianity EtcRe: Should A Christian Keep A Gun To Protect Himself From Other Humans? by luap1990(op): 7:09pm On Sep 24, 2017
While Christians may take reasonable steps to ensure their personal security, they do so within the framework of Bible principles. This advice against the use of carnal weapons, such as handguns, rifles, or other firearms, for protection against other humans.

Consider the following:

In Jehovah’s eyes, life—especially human life—is sacred. The psalmist David knew that Jehovah “is the source of life.” (Ps. 36:9) Hence, if a Christian chooses to take reasonable measures to defend himself or his property, he would do everything in his power to avoid taking a human life and becoming bloodguilty.—Deut. 22:8; Ps. 51:14.

Although using any number of objects could lead to incurring bloodguilt, guns make it easier to kill someone accidentally or deliberately. * Moreover, if an attacker—who may already be tense—sees that the other person has a firearm, the situation is very likely to escalate and a death might result.

When Jesus told his followers to equip themselves with swords on the final night of his life on earth, he did not have protection in mind. (Luke 22:36, 38) Rather, Jesus had them bring a sword for an object lesson to teach them not to resort to violence, even when confronted by an armed crowd. (Luke 22:52) After Peter wielded one of the swords against the high priest’s slave, Jesus commanded Peter: “Return your sword to its place.” Then Jesus stated a fundamental truth, a principle that guides his followers to this day: “All those who take up the sword will perish by the sword.”—Matt. 26:51, 52.

In harmony with Micah 4:3, God’s people “beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning shears.” This identifying trait of true Christians harmonizes with the apostle Paul’s inspired exhortation: “Return evil for evil to no one. . . . If possible, as far as it depends on you, be peaceable with all men.” (Rom. 12:17, 18) Despite the many troubles that Paul experienced, including “dangers from robbers,” he lived by his words, never putting personal security above Scriptural principles. (2 Cor. 11:26) Instead, he trusted in God and in the wisdom found in His Word—wisdom that “is better than weapons of war.”—Eccl. 9:18.

Christians consider life to be far more valuable than material things. “Life does not result from the things [a man] possesses.” (Luke 12:15) Thus, if a mild tongue fails to stop an armed robber, wise Christians heed the principle embodied in Jesus’ words: “Do not resist the one who is wicked.” It may even require that we give up our inner and outer garments, so to speak. (Matt. 5:39, 40; Luke 6:29) * The best strategy, of course, is prevention. If we shun “the showy display of [our] means of life” and are known by our neighbours as peace-loving Witnesses of Jehovah, we may avoid being targeted by violent criminals.—1 John 2:16; Prov. 18:10.

Christians respect others’ consciences. (Rom. 14:21) If it became known that a member of the congregation kept a gun for protection against humans, some fellow believers might be shocked, even stumbled. Love moves us to put others’ interests ahead of our own, even when that means putting aside what we may feel is a legal right.—1 Cor. 10:32, 33; 13:4, 5.

Christians strive to be exemplary. (2 Cor. 4:2; 1 Pet. 5:2, 3) After receiving Scriptural counsel, a Christian who continues to keep a gun for protection against other humans could not be considered exemplary. He would therefore not qualify for responsibilities or special privileges in the congregation. The same applies to a Christian who continues to carry a firearm as part of his secular work. How much better to seek other employment! *

How a Christian chooses to protect himself, his family, or his possessions is, of course, largely a personal matter, as is his choice of employment. That said, Bible principles reflect God’s wisdom and his love for us. Out of regard for those principles, spiritually mature Christians choose not to keep a firearm for protection against other humans. They know that true and lasting security comes to those who demonstrate trust in God by living in harmony with Bible principles.—Ps. 97:10; Prov. 1:33; 2:6, 7.

BusinessTips On How We Can SAVE Money, Especially Now. by luap1990(op): 2:50am On Apr 21, 2016
Tips on How we can SAVE Money, especially now.
Dear friends, no doubt we are living in a critical time hard to deal with, mention in the Bible (2 Timothy 3:1)
Let me share encouraging thoughts with you. These tips work for me while in school, probably you might find it useful now.
TIPS
1. Cook your food most times rather than eat out. IF you do so, you save more and derive satisfaction from your meal(if you're a good cook). Try it out
2. Before buying an expensive item, consider whether it is really necessary. It matters alot.
3. Don't RUSH for an item, especially mobile phone. Don't do follow follow, because others are buying or using it. Be yourself, maximizing the resources at your disposal.
4. Look out for good DEALS. If I really need an item, I search online stores that offer competitive prices or good used items (Okrika).
5. Finally, Simple lifestyle. let us consider this admonition and apply what Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:6-8,: "... When we have food and clothing we will be content with these things.
PoliticsEkweremadu Not Our Anti-corruption Ambassador – EFCC by luap1990(op): 9:57pm On Apr 20, 2016
Eniola Akinkuotu
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, is not an anti-corruption ambassador of the agency.
The EFCC, therefore, urged members of the public to disregard the report stating otherwise.
The spokesperson for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement that the EFCC National Assembly Liaison Officer, Suleiman Bakari, went beyond his assignment by decorating Ekweremadu.
He said as an anti-corruption agency that could arrest any individual found wanting, the EFCC could never name anyone as its ambassador.
The statement read in part, “The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to some reports in the print and online media, on April 20, 2016 claiming that the anti-graft agency has decorated the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, as “Anti-Corruption Ambassador”.
“According to a statement issued to the Press by the Special Adviser to the Deputy Senate President, Uche Anichukwu, the purported decoration, was carried out by the EFCC National Assembly Liaison Officer, Suleiman Bakari who was quoted to have said: ‘On behalf of my acting chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Mustafa Magu and the entire management and staff of the EFCC, decorate you as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador and formally present this frame, as a token of our appreciation to your person and office, and as a symbol of the institutional partnership between the EFCC and the National Assembly’.
“The EFCC totally dissociates itself from the purported action of Sulaiman Bakari as he acted entirely on his own. He clearly acted outside his brief as a liaison officer as the management of the Commission at no time mandated him to decorate Ekweremadu or any officer of the National Assembly as Anti-Corruption Ambassador.
“The statutory mandate of the EFCC is the investigation and prosecution of all economic and financial crimes cases, which does not include the decoration of individuals as anti- corruption ambassadors. The Commission is not in the habit of awarding titles to individuals. And those enamoured of titles, knows the quarters to approach for such honours, not the EFCC.
“Members of the public and stakeholders in the fight against corruption are enjoined to disregard the so-called decoration.”

As at the time of writing, the school has been closed down without any news as to when the school reopens for academic activities. On the 1st of March, the school sent a text message which reads:"Students are hereby requested to proceed on mid-semester break with effect from 1st March, 2016 till Sunday, 13th March, 2016. School resumes on Monday, 14th March, 2016. Students should vacate halls of residence with immediate effect as they will be closed during this period." However, we were shocked to receive another text message, that "Resumption earlier scheduled for Monday, 14th March, 2016 has been postponed indefinately. New date shall be communicated later. No student is expected to be on campus under any guise." Without any explanation or reasons for indefinite postponment of the resumption. With due respect, we call on the management of our school to re-open the school.
