Hold your imagination before it fly away to the north pole. No its not what u are thinking. I didn't drop out or anything. I combine the both. Biochem full time and criminology part time. Its fun though.
I read any junk I can lay my hands on but I get bored easily. Too much of a particular thing removes the joy and fun. Science is like that too many equations and problems without a valid proof or supporting evidence that I can see. Just theory upon theory that some random guy with a long beard and mustache; formulated in a cave somewhere in europe but art precisely social science, you get in touch with the real deal. The environment, humanity, society, psychology, human thought pattern and behaviour, economics, politcs and even science. Something new every day. A new knowledge every second.
What are you studying in school?.

lol at the picture of the man in the cave

I just got admission this year and Its History. wink

Thats why I am still upset with Assu and FG I should be in school now but well God's time is the best.

This morning a hero left us and as painful as it is I thank God for a life well spent.

This goes to a Man who stood up for what he believes in and in turn made us believe colour doesn't matter, its the thoughts that count.

Sun re Mandela a tun pade.

I heard that an angel had gone back home
I smiled
God misses him I said
But that smile soon turned upside down
It was who?
No! I screamed
It can't be true
So I investigated
And as I got closer to the truth
My heart sunk further

It is true
A great Leader is no more
I never got to met you
But your good works precede thee

I seek for words to describe you
I found billions
Alas I was at a loss
I can't chose, you deserve them all

My generation weep
A light is gone
Weep for the light left is dim
The Lord who gave him to us
Has taken him back
We know we shall met again
Our joy is assured in that

Till we met enjoy life with our Maker

May the Lord comfort us his children.

An angel has gone home.

Wow thanks dear. Thought I wrote scrap since nobody was commenting.

Am a science student actually, biochemistry to be precise. But I recently started another bsc program in open university; criminology and security studies and am enjoying it more than biochem. Was pushed into science bc of the old fashion believe that art is....... Fill in watever u like *lolz* so am like jack of all trade master of none
On education I agree with you. We have to train ourselves the best way we can but I just find it so repulsive and annoying that the society sets a standard for its youth and views youth that are not in sch as scum or something worst. Its really hard breathing in a society that tells u go to sch, look for work, marry, have children. Our lives is basically preprogrammed and any attempt to deviate, the person is branded a bad child. How about finding your self or discovering your talent, basically no one cares. 'Talent is a waste and education is supreme' in the thinking of our people but yet we are ar behind in everything.

Forgive my random musing.

Forgive? More like continue,am glad to hear you say that thought I was only one of the few weird ones here.

Its a Nigerian thing, watch as the next generation do their thing.

cheesy I can't stop laughing,Art is one of best and you are happier now but curious to know: Is it a part time course?

Dont understand how you could combine those two courses together. Except its what am thinking, its better I let you explain before I let my imagination fly as usual.

Will try it. But the truth is that despite my love of reading, I see education as over-rated ie to be a sucess one needn't be educated and that schs only teaches us books but not practice or how to survive in the real world.
I haven't read any Shakespeare book, don't know why. Though I've read the abridged versions. are u an art student?

Proudly cool.
I agree with you but we just got to,I believe if you can afford to train yourself why not?
Let them train us the way they can,the rest is left to us.

It was never meant to end this way
Last night was a disaster
But it had to happen
I look back into time
Into space
Into you
And I found nothing
Nothing worthy
Of this persistent emotion
That blocks my voice
And opened the Flood gates
Ask me
Tell me
The words I have been waiting for
The words so meaningless
Yet people cave to hear it
I laugh without the actual joy
I smile and you fell
Tragedy!
Stay far away so you may know no pain
The pain that have rob me the joy
Of enjoying a simple laugh.
Yet I still say
Stay.

emeka94: I really don't understand why people like james hardley chase. Seriously! D first novel I read was fatima that was in nursery school, I think Nur3. Then I read little Red hen but I found it boring bc it was simple and easily predictable- although I still read when am bored or can't find any other book to read. I spent almost two weeks trying to finish A journey to The centre of The world by Jules verne. I can't remember which one I read first btw Wale the city boy, drummer boy, chike and the river, Eze goes to school etc. Then I underwent a VC Andrew's phase, although I couldn't understand most of what she said but I plodded on with relish. It was through Vc Andrew that I developed a deep sense of empathy. When I was in primary four my teacher Aunty comfort reported to my mom that I like reading adult book that's inimical to my young brain. But I couldn't be stopped. Currently I have more book than I can remember. My favs are mario puzo- he really can tell a story with fluidity. John grisham- his story moves smoothly and he uses basic language. And Danielle steele cos she evokes beauty.
I like cyprain ekwensi and his my fav afro writer. Chimamanda is good too and I enjoy her. I honestly wish that writers would write more about the truth in a fictioanal manner. Am personaly moved by art ie music, painting, pics and writing.
D beautiful thing about reading is that it makes u appreciate things beyond the normal lenght. It opens ur eyes and draws a beautiful reality on u. N ur brain is constantly rationalizing, visualizing and planning.
I've only lived a decade and a few years but I act mature than I really am. And consequently am a little bored by my age mates. Not trying to sound eccentric or proud but am trying to say something, which I hope some one will understand. I hope to be a columnist and a novelist someday. Meanwhile, ASUU thanks for this strike.
Finally I have a big question about something that happens to me. I enjoy reading but I find it difficult to read my school work or any book recommended or if am forced to read?

It happens, you will find a way round it,when I was first given Hamlet to read in school I was like what! Then she made us read it like it was the national pledge. Thankfully now I can say its one of my fave Shakespeare's novels. Same for as you like it and Merchant of Venice.

I have also been through it o and believe me it is not easy and yes I agree with you age mates bore me too. I have older friends instead,am also the youngest in the Xliq but I enjoy it.

We are on the same lane, I also want to be a columnist and an authoress *smiling*

My formula for that is to agrue within myself that the book is better than the one I want to read ,That they couldn't have recommend it if it wasn't and the only way to be sure is to read it. Believe me it works

As for notes, the fear of falling behind in my grades is the being of reading them, especially if you live with a perfectionist or have them as friends.

Good luck in finding a working formula.
