Let me refresh our memories all over again... The seed: Smaller seed size meaning more seeds per gram. Quicker germination (as from 36 Hours). Good germination rate. 85% minimum. The plant: Vigorous and with less side shoots. Gyneocious - predominantly female flower with few males. Good resistance to major cucumber diseases Flowering as from 21 days after sowing. Harvest as from 35 days after sowing. The Fruit: All green fruits. 300g average weight. Transport well. Last up to 7 days before ripening with early harvest. Soft seeds for good eating habit. ===== Waiting to see what you (yes you!) Will do with these info. Ire o! |
I am hoping we can have a rich and deep discussion about this beans matter sha.
|
One of the mistakes many farmers make is trying to use money to solve all of their problems. As far as I know, farming (and agriculture generally) is knowledge based. Your depth of knowledge will determine how successful or otherwise you'll be eventually. Let me digress: Russia is among the World largest exporter of wheat. And if you must know, they once experienced a famine that killed millions of people (which was largely due to some wrong government policies at that time). Even though they have less than a 150 days planting window, they're now among the top wheat producer. My point is this: is it not because we think we've alternative to beans production that has made us a bit laid back in Beans production?

betabread:@betabread... thanks for yoir comment. As much as the points raises are valid,.I still want to believe there could be ways around this. That's just my thought sha. Let's wait to hear from more People though. |
Hello everyone. I've been wondering for awhile about the seeming dearth of commercial beans farmers in the South West of Nigeria. I am not saying we don't have beans farmers, but we seems not to have a high population of commercial beans farmers like we have for tomato, cucumber and a few other crops. What could be responsible for this? And if there are commercial beans farmers, can they share their experiences here so we can all learn? Even though I am not sure of a few things but I know that our soil can support beans cultivation and the weather shouldn't pose much of a challenge. So, let's discuss and learn from one another. Whatever you share here will surely help a lot of aspiring beans farmers to come a certain conclusion. So...over to you good people of NL.

Even though my Anambra farmer is not on NL, he promised to do a detailed review so we can share here. Meanwhile, he's sent some pics to wet out appetites. According to him, his Lily f1 cucumber harvest was the best (in terms of size & "greeness") yesterday at the market. He said some people couldn't believe he actually grew them around, and they had to follow him to his farm to confirm. I will share his review here soon. ===== Lily f1 cucumber will give you a the advantage. Talk to you soon.

BreakingNews! We want to inform all that we've now ran out of sample seeds packs. We've distributed close to 200 sample packs since we started distribution back in August/September, and we no longer have any plans to make sample packs available. We will keep updating this thread with updates from our Lily f1 Cucumber early adopters to keep you abreast of things. We are confident that the seed is a winner and we hope that you will become an adopter in no time. Thank you all for your understanding and most importantly, your adoption of Lily f1 cucumber. Thanks @OluchiDelly for the honest review. But I am surprised you didn't mention all the nocturnal chats and all A lot of times I'll wake up past midnight to see many kweshons awaiting answers from him The first time he messaged me was well over 5 years ago for a certain product which he ended up not buying then. Hence my asking him if he'll buy this time. Bros, I would have gladly moved you to the "time wasters" folder if you didn't make the purchase this time . A digression - A free advice to everyone in "buy and selling". Make sure you always back up and restore your chats no matter what. If will help you in so many ways. This will help you to quickly see "patterns", especially of people that want to use you just for market research. You can reach out to me if you want to know about this. Back to Lily f1 cucumber. @OluchiDelly, I'll appreciate if you can further help us with the following info: 1. Germination rate 2. Survival rate 3. Your yield (total no of bags/kg) 4. Your price perception of Lily f1 compare to other cucumbers. Your answers will surely help a lot of people with their decision making. ===== Glad to actually see someone putting our claims to the test. And am glad that our claims are still standing. Let me reiterate here again: our motive is for farmers to have viable alternatives/options that can make good their hard work. ===== In the spirit of the season, we've decided to still make a few sample packs available. We've about 15 ready. It's FCFS. |
Hallakat fighter and sharpshooter are some insecticide that has proven to be effective to some degree against white flies. You can also add any form of overhead irrigation If you have the resources. Ire o! |
We're now officially in the "white flies" season . So, what are you doing to combat the white flies on your cucumber farms? |
