Quick PPR and Landing update!!!

To God be the Glory, I landed in Calgary with my family on the 30th of April 2022.

It has been a VERY LONG WAIT for us!

I can say the journey started as far back as April 2018 when my wife and I wrote our IELTS.
We started our WES evaluation in the same month but trust naija schools and transcript wahala, we didn't get our evaluation till November 2018! and we sat in the pool till April 2019 when Alberta Nomination (AINP) came. It was a super exciting time for us and we rejoiced so much! Of course with 600 points from PNP, ITA was the next step and we did all that was required, Got AOR in October 2019 and biometrics in November 2019. Some of our friends landed Canada in November and December 2019, they were already congratulating us ahead and expecting that we would get our PPR by April or May 2020 at the latest........ We all know the story, COVID came with the lockdowns and IRCC basically stopped doing anything, that's how our wait started o!!!!

From time to time, we would hear of PPR rain, hmm.... everywhere was dry o, we heard nothing, not even ghost update till our passports expired! Thankfully we were proactive and by the time ADR came, we had updated our details, we wrote back to IRCC to let them know (Ogbeni, we don do this update now, why U dey send us mail again in September 2020?) That's how we missed Sept/Oct 2020 PPR rain o! Jan/Feb 2021 PPR rain came, we rushed to do upfront re-medical just in case, we didn't even see ghost update...

It was a very sad time for us seeing others move, even people that started the process after us! What was happening? Like Job, some of my closest friends who I had confided in started asking me "Are you sure you heard God? or are you just lusting after this Canada dream that is happening for others?" someone even told me that I should beware of covetousness . Friends o! I promptly cut them off because they were drowning my faith! See, this relocation journey is a very personal and spiritual journey, don't allow bad energy and be very careful who you inform of what you're doing (Not because they will do anything, but so that you can keep your good energy up!)

Back to my story, the whole of 2021 was spent waiting and asking God if we heard correctly, abi we just dey dream... by October 2021, AOR was already 2 years, we had ordered GCMS notes twice and the same thing, everything was approved, we even saw the details of the counterfoil in the GCMS notes! the counterfoil had been generated since March 2020!!!! The only note there was "Waiting for COVID19 Instructions"

Thankful for the encouragement I got here, one day, I stumbled on a post by @GraciousWords here - https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/680#105186487 and I knew I wasn't alone, I hadn't met any other person who had 2019 AOR! All the people I know who had 2019 AOR, even December 2019 had gotten their COPR and had landed in Canada. The pain and depression was REAL!!!

Fast forward to Feb.2022, we went to do yet another upfront re-medical (Just in case they remember us), by now it was raining PPR everywhere. We finished the medicals at around 4pm, stepped out of IOM, got to the car, switched on my phone and there it was! The golden mail we had been waiting for had dropped while we were doing the medicals cheesy

You can imagine the excitement! a journey of 4 years had come to fulfilment!!!! Everything else came in quick succession, we bought out tickets, resigned jobs, gave out our stuff, sold the rest and landed in Calgary on the 30th of April 2022 and heard those sweet words "Congratulations, You are now Permanent Residents of Canada, Welcome!"

I want to say a big thank you to all those who make the sacrifice of posting information here, you are the real MVPs giving us regular encouragement!

To all those who are still on the journey, I say to you, Hang in there! Your dreams are valid and they will come true!

GraciousWords:
As I celebrate my 20 month post AOR party tomorrow, please join me in raising your voices to heaven that my PPR and COPR (and the PPR and COPR of my brothers and sisters in waiting) will land in this 2021....

TravelCanada Hopefuls (waiting for COPR) by Lumijay(op): 8:42pm On Jun 05, 2021
So, I'm creating this to just have a place where I don't feel alone.

AOR was in October 2019 and GCMS notes say everything is approved, I can even see the COPR on the notes, but "waiting for COVID-19 guidelines"

This is how I've been waiting o.......

I feel like they've even forgotten I exist especially when I see people who got their COPR during the lockdown and have even left for Canada.

Am I alone or is anyone else out there experiencing this... It's really frustrating, but I know I can get through it if I see others who are waiting.

Let's get in here and share our good news together when it comes
