It's divided into two parts Icnd1 and Icnd2. Please I would advise you to visit Cisco website to get the updated topics. And from August they would be upgrading the exams by adding more topics. Thanks

Good day house, I have been following this thread for a while now (nice initiative DanIndia). I got my ccnp a while back and worked for a few years as a Cisco trainer. I presently do more of office 365 consulting but would like to offer my services for free classes and labbing if someone can provide a venue (I am in Lagos).
I see a lot of people talking about videos, it’s one thing to watch a video and another to actually lab it out.

This is meant to be a study group and since most people have internet connection issues we could meet on a Saturday and do actual labs i.e pick a topic and all work on it together. As I said I have some experience and will teach if anyone can provide a venue. What does the house think?
Any suggestions can whatsapp me on 07017840966 or reply here

I think standard is inbound while extended is outbound.
Sorry to ask but are you sure?

1) Yes, The source/Main/ISP router will be DCE. Destination Router would be DTE (in cisco packet tracer all ports are dte by default)

2) CIDR classles inter domain routing, is for sub-dividing (subnetting) your class-full Addresses (Class A, B, C) into different subnet of same block size. while VLSM is a form of sub-netting into different subnet with variable block sizes (different block size)

Hope this helps smiley
thanks.
Access control list. when do I place it for inbound or outbound
Career / Re: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by luwins(m): 7:43pm On Jun 22, 2016
Please good people in the house. I need a quick explanation thanks.
1) Must 2 router be configured with 1 dte and the other dce?
2)Cidr and vlsm what is the difference
3) When do I use inbound or outbound for acls
Thanks in advance

Being. Following this thread for a while now and I must say that only God will bless Debbie and her crew(others posting valid jobs).
It's 100 pages now and it's not easy posting as it takes time and dedication.
To all job seekers I wish you the best. As the good Lord always remember his children.

Hey friends,

good news, I wrote and passed my ccnp (route) today after much delay from my exam center.

i was suppose to write it last week 2 weeks but they kept on postponing it due to some technical prob from their side. Finally they transferred me to another center close to them where i wrote it this afternoon.

Route covered, Switch next..
congrats . I am gearing for ccna by God's grace

Is there any standard and sound CISCO training school in Lagos?
You could try NIIT or New Horizon . But they are on the high side. If you are preparing for Ccna like me and have some networking experience you could self_study.The guys on this forum would gladly answer you if you have some questions but I think you have to PM them as I think they are very busy though they do answer when I have questions. Best of luck. Do know that the new ccna exams come after August 20. So if you want to take the old exams be quick or wait for the new one

Netsast only gives a long list of ports in use and will not show you the application or protocol using it. If i want to know about port say 2231, how can it be done?
Sorry to reply late.
Port 2231 is not a well known port.

Don't know what you are really asking. But as a newbie in networking I would say you do netstat -o on cmd but stand to be corrected.

The best way is to do your certifications, dont just get certified as it won't give you thejob; but have a working knowledge of what you studied.

Then go and volunteer, free of charge to get the required field experience, because most companies would prefer to take up someone who has 5years experience or more.

Pray well that favor will locate you, you might be lucky to get referrals or an opening might open up where you volunteering.

Alternatively, you could continue applying, who knows.

Thank you very much

Hello guys,

Haven't been here in a while, nice to read up on all I've missed. @DanIndia bro, how's the CCNP hustle going? Haven't had the chance to contribute here cos I've been quite busy with work. @baba11 I'm proud of your hustle and enthusiasm bro, a couple of months back you were a rookie like me before I got certified, now you are running CCNP level preps, really nice.

You should understand that there are different strokes for different folks, getting a job boils down to your mentality. I wrote CCNA last year November and I currently work in one of the biggest multinationals in the world. There were guys who had CCNP and CCIE written at the interview but I was the only person HR picked for the job. Now I get to work with live gear everyday in a major enterprise network while learning other key aspects of server administration, mobility, and security.

It's not by your level of certs, it's by your passion to learn and improve. I would advice every network engineer to do at least a course in ITIL as it's fast becoming a must have regardless of which path you follow in IT. We use 5 ISPs where I work, some as main,, backup and voice and one common thing with all of them is whenever they have link outages or planned maintenance, they send us tickets so we can follow up (which is basically service operation and Incident/Request management under ITIL)

Writing my CCNP ROUTE next month, should get certified this year and hopefully get to ITIL intermediate level. Finally, if you intend to work in an enterprise Network (500+ computers), you can't escape learning server administration. My manager gave me 18 months to get MCSE certified so start learning that on the side now if you can. VERSATILITY AND PASSION IS THE KEY TO MAKING IT IN THIS FIELD.

Cheers guys, this thread has been a major contributing factor to giving me a platform to work where I work now. Keep the flag flying!
Please I sent you a mail but no response. please do respond as I have some questions for you. thanks
