As a present fleet manager of a 100% CNG converted vehicles, CNG will definitely increase profit margin but its still not the complete solution for problems we face as drivers. CNG most of the times is difficult to get. I notice how the guys using electric cars are super chilled. Thus I believe electric car is the way to go, less moving parts just battery and drive hubs. Whereas CNG still leave you with all moving parts you have to deal with using petrol.
Who here has experienced e-hailing in any other city outside Lagos?
Lagos is a very hostile place to drivers.
My driving experience in Ibadan has been pretty pleasant, we have a few drivers on weekly remittance of 60k weekly with CNG though and to my surprise they are always meeting up ontime with no excuses.
To highlight the cool side of driving in Ibadan; No traffic only on rare occasions and never compared to Lagos traffic.
No touts to harass you incase of a breakdown.
No need for Lasdri, and other documents required of rideshare drivers in Lagos.
The train service has improved the business in Ibadan.
In a nutshell if you are feeling tired of Lagos and you have the flexibility to explore a new city, I think you should try experiencing Ibadan
GoAbroad25: Hello Luxurydriver, I'm about to purchase Royal split AC. How has your experience been in terms of durability & cooling? Will you recommend it?
ksmart027: There's nothing wrong with the gear, service with Honda dw1 or total mvlv. Honda recommend dextron 6 not 3. Though i still prefer stick shift.
Bro do the research honda is notorious for failing gear system
2RightHands1Coc: [Go for Honda civic quote author=obuneme post=133295081]Please guys I’m considering getting a Honda civic 2008 for this hustle. Please between this civic and Corolla which is better for this hustle in terms of fuel economy and durability of the vehicle.
The civic has a fragile gear system, for me I'll prefer the manual transmission type. If not go for corolla
ReadaDream: If you decide to venture into Ehailing, you might become completely lost in it.
...before you enter, please have an EXIT plan....and be sure to stick to it.
Can the sales of your Camry fetch you 5-6m?.. you can get a toks standard Honda Civic 07-09 between 3-4m. As for staying on the Island, you will have to go further down Sangotedo to get something affordable in rent. A mini flat will do, 600-700k rent with total package of 1m,.so rent renewal won't be hard on you..
This peak period is the best time to start, so you can maximize your earnings.
Meanwhile Lagos is not your regular city, everyone is out to "Chop" you. You have to be ready and street smart. Make friends active drivers here so they can put you through.
Whatever you decide on....Have an EXIT plan. Ire o
Very smart and reasonable answer. This is the best answer for you brotherly.
To add to what has been said, stay on the mainland instead, 600k rent will be a strain on you. Your rent shouldn't be more than 300k as a struggling guy.
2RightHands1Coc: You people getting paid well how many heads una get ?? I will put this car for sale
Bleep tinubu
Bro don't sell your car just yet, you have options at least wait this January February after the crazy ember fares. You can raise enough money to convert to CNG.
Finally a new rideshare app that prioritize drivers earning admits rising fuel cost, this is what rideshare drivers need. Not rideshare app that compete for lower fares to favour riders. Taxi is a luxury if you can't afford it use Danfo. Sign up with monochrome using the link below and enjoy amazing benefits.
On March 14, 2020, social media user, Demola of Lagos, shared a story of Mrs Joyce Dayser Adams, who lost her Auto shop in Wuye, Abuja, to demolition.
The autoshop, worth millions of naira in assets, where she goes about her daily business and trained females in auto works 'free of charge' was subject to a land use tussle. A court granted her ownership of the land and a restraining order on FCDA from harassing the occupants.
However, the order was disregarded and on the said day, FCDA moved in and reduced the thriving venture to rubbles, aided by a crack team of Policemen, VIO, NSCDC and some other security agencies leaving a distraught Joyce, heartbroken over her fortunes.
However, she picked herself up, set herself up again to keep her dream alive and later relocated to the UK. She went back to school, and graduated last month with an M. Sc in Mechatronic Systems Engineering.
Failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.
