3.Upon receipt of the cheque, seller transfers USD immediately from United States to Buyer within the stipulated time stated in the indemnity and sends telex copy to buyer for verification.

There is no transfer on Monday

No transfer on Wednesday

No transfer on Friday

If lien letter is submitted say by 8am on Wednesday or Thursday, buyer will get his USD on Thursday inside 24 hrs

Hence when buyer submits his letter on Tuesday, he will get his money on the same Tuesday which is within 24 hrs where transfer takes place but in a case where lien letter is submitted very late on Tuesday say 4 pm , buyer will get his money at maximum hour which is on Thursday , another day when CBN will do transfer

But a case where buyer submits lien letter on Thursday say 3pm or on Friday, buyer will be supplied at maximum hour which 72 hrs/Tuesday

That's why in all CBN offshore / inflow lien letter verbiage, 72 hrs is stated

Remember, it takes maximum of 48hrs to lien

Buyer cannot submit lien letter tomorrow say 2pm and expect seller to supply him USD immediately

In such case, buyer will get his money on Tuesday because that's the day transfer is done from CBN to all banks before they supply their clients who already lien.

That's why CBN puts a verbiage of 72hrs
