Car Talk › Re: Should Nigerian Mechanics Learn How To Repair Chinese Cars? by madskills(m): 5:13pm On Apr 21 |
sarkinbauchi: Nigerian mechanics should start developing the necessary skills to servicing and repairing Chinese automobiles such as Avatar, Geely, Dongfeng, Jetour, GAC, Chery etc as these brands are gaining widespread acceptance in Nigeria due to their affordability, advanced features, and increasing popularity on Nigerian roads.
Acquiring this expertise ensures the long-term relevance of their careers, creates new revenue streams through specialized diagnostics, and meets the growing demand for servicing these vehicles.
Key reasons for Nigerian mechanics to learn Chinese car technology include: Rising Market Popularity: Chinese car brands are gaining significant traction in the Nigerian market, offering competitive pricing compared to traditional Japanese or European models such as Toyota, Honda, Mercedes etc.
Technological Advancement: These vehicles feature modern technology, including smart features, advanced infotainment systems, and new engines, which require specialized knowledge of diagnostic tools and computerized systems.
High Demand for Specialized Maintenance: There is a growing need for trained mechanics who can service Chinese brands, providing a competitive edge to those who can repair these cars.
Improved Reliability and Parts Access: Chinese cars are adapting better to local road conditions, and their parts are becoming increasingly accessible.
Future-Proofing Skills: Acquiring knowledge of these systems prepares technicians for the influx of new, technology-driven vehicles entering the local market.
Parts Availability: Contrary to fears of scarcity, Chinese auto companies are increasingly establishing branches and authorized dealerships, making parts more accessible and necessary for skilled repair.
In conclusion, specializing in Chinese vehicles is a strategic career move for Nigerian mechanics, turning potential repair challenges into profitable, long-term employment opportunities and remaining relevant in the Automobile World How fuel efficient are these cars ? |

lawani: If you are producing something, will you consume it free? Subsidy is best avoided, it is better to structure your economy so that citizens can afford what they need rather than having subsidies. There is also an accounting challenge in subsidy and it opens a loophole for stealing. There are many countries with more oil per Capita than Nigeria who don't do subsidy makes sense |

lawani: If ships can not pass through the strait then transportation becomes more expensive and supply becomes an issue pushing up the price. Once the price of crude goes up then Nigeria's federal government will gain but consumers of PMS will have to pay more for it. Nigeria will not sell to Dangote or anybody at lower than the international price. They are not even obliged to prioritize Dangote so what happens to using some part of the higher profit from export sales as subsidy for products imported |

Family › Re: My 13 Years Old Has Become Terrible! I Want To Send Her Back To Nigeria by madskills(m): 7:04pm On Feb 25, 2024 |
TheWinterBird: 13 is a sensitive age. If she's acting out, it's because she's not happy. At 13, she's going through lots of hormonal changes (e.g. puberty), so that alone can cause behavioral changes. Besides physiological factors, environmental factors (home and school) must be contributing to her unhappiness. How is her school life: is she being teased or bullied? How is her home life: do you treat her differently than her siblings (e.g. favoritism)?, how is her relationship with her stepmom?, how about her mom - does she keep in touch with her?
Everyone is shouting send her back to Nigeria, but don't do that, as you're going to create more disruption in her life. Try and get her into therapy/counseling and have her pour her mind using the above questions, preferably via a trained professional (e.g. Psychologist, Therapist). With the right help, she will change. THE BEST ADVICE I HAVE READ THUS FAR |
