The second semester Examination of IMO state university which started on Monday 16th July has seen the Final year students of Library and Information Science in the faculty of Education become the first 2018 export to the favour otherwise known as labour market.

Second semesters always mark the completion of an academic journey. Friday 20th July will remain green in the mind of graduating students of the great department as all converged at the Faculty large hall to pen their final exam and afterward moved round the campus to celebrate their graduation as observed by Imsu Elijah.

Its worthy to know that the students completed round the clock cycle of 79 courses, spent 1,317 days , put together 157 weeks of consistency in pursuit of their first degree.

It usually ends in joy, the sky blown high as friends resorted to pouring of water and drinks, a way of identifying with them.

Please don't skip without saying congratulations to these fresh graduates using the comment box as graduation virtually awaits all university students.

Fast rising act Ekwere Michael Nnamdi, a 400L student of Optometry department in Imo State University known also as 'Rehab' said that rapping is a gift to him by God.

In a recent chat, the "Over Sabi " crooner causing wave in the campus Music revealed hand full of things about himself, when and how he started music. Read through this post to know more about the next big headache in the Nation entertainment industry.


How did the stage name "REHAB" came to fancy?
“Well I was making use of the name (Michael ekna) at first when i was in junior secondary school, sometimes people do come to me and when am done rapping for him or her that person becomes so happy ..So one day I came across the word rehab Which means bringing something or someone
back to its normal state .. And I come to think of it , since people do meet me to rap for them just to make them happy ..then I should be a rehab in the music industry”

When did you start music?
“Well , some people will say they started music at the age of this and at the age of that, But to me I started music from mama’s womb. Officially I started music when I was in my senior secondary school I guise probably at the age of 17-19 years old and that was when I started visiting the studio”


Who is your role model?
“J Cole is my role model, I so much love him with Passion, he inspires me a lot and I also love his life style, He is the reason why my love for rap music increased. Yes he is my number one role model but I wouldn't tell you that I am only inspired by J Cole, Kendrick Lamar and drake are artist I do see as my role model. I will also love to recognized artist like lucky dube, the game ,Bob Marley, 2face ,big seun ,t.I, drake ,eriga ,2 PAC, notorious b.i.g lilwayn and lots more they have all also contributed to the growth of my musical career by inspiring me”


Have you ever experienced stage freight and how did you come over it?
“Oh my God, Severely I have experienced that even up till now I do experience stage freight. But not every time. You know, I was a very shy type when I was a teenager To even contribute little to the answer to your question, I was an altar boy in my church (Catholic church) but I never served a mass because of stage freight. I came over stage freight when I realized that each time i am on stage performing , once I drop a punch line or good lyrics and rhymes or sweet melody and sweet musical line that the crowd love so much they all scream and once they all scream and sound happy, stage freight leaves my body and soul . What I now do to come over stage freight ..is to work hard , study my fans, show and different set of crowd or audience just to know what they want, I deliver it to them so that their joy, screams , hailing and happiness can give me confidence to overcome stage freight on stage.”


What's the best thing a fan has ever done to you?
“Well I have this fan that do Spend his time to design my pictures and adding some of my lyrics on the pic and then send it to me. He also do post it on his social media account saying nice things about me and also tag me . each day I receive several pictures containing my lyrics this is just how passionate a fan can be sometimes”


What inspires you to sing?
“I always want my today to be better than yesterday, i didn't just decide to be rapper, it inborn in me. if something must inspire me, it should be my experiences in life”


Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
“Only God knows the answer to this question, I only believe that God is preparing a better place and a better platform and a better crown in the music industry for me”


Apart from music, what other thing do you do with your leisure time?
“For now , I am a student Combining school and my musical career is like serving two masters at a time which people do think it’s impossible to do that. I don't think I have any leisure time because every single day i keep myself busy with music or studies while during the weekend I do go to shows, In fact I have no leisure time because I have no rest for my brain”


In conclusion, what do you have to say to your fans and followers?
Oh my God, I wonder what I can do without my fans, I call them my motivators. I wish I can just have a day interaction with my fans they are the reason why I am working so hard CU's I don't want to let them down, i don't, want to disappoint them or probably waist all the effort they have applied to see me come this far, I also want to thank them for always being there for me gradually we are getting to the destination by Gods grace. I love you all with all my heart”.

Mc Badmouth whose real name is Ojilere Chikemdi Benjamin hails from Imo state from the honorable Department of Industrial Mathematics, 400level, Imo State University has said that everything in life is all about talent.

Mc Badmouth as popularly known is a trend in the campus entertainment, whose jokes usually leave audience laughing till the shed tears disclosed this in a recent interview he granted IMSU Info Scope Media led by Imsu Elijah recently.

Assuring of his desire to be on top of his game, when asked what inspired him to be an MC said
"I never had in mind of being a Mc, I only found out that people laugh most times when I talk and do crazy things. I got inspired when I acted my first drama in church and I was able to create humor out of it".

He said that apart from being a comedian, he watches movie a lot. What's the best thing a fan has ever done to you? "I swear dem don do plenty, more especially their prayers" he said.

He concluded by saying that he loves his loyal fans so much, they are the reason why he works so hard to always put smile on their faces.

Fear on Wednesday 9th May gripped students and business owners at IMSU extension gate as another motor vehicle on one way matched down a student crossing the road, the wireless informant witnessed.

The wind screen of the car in question was damaged on the spot by angry students and after wards taken into custody.

This is the 3rd unfortunate mishap at the extension gate since resumption for 17/18 second semester academic session. Motor opertors sometimes during school hour ply on one way due to bad road taking innocent students crossing the main road unaware.

Authorities concerned are by this notified to swing into action of fixing the bad road to avert future reoccurrence.

Three courses in Imo state University, which had hitherto lost accreditation, have regained full accreditation by the National Universities Commission, the vice Chancellor Professor (Mrs.) Victoria Adaobi Obasi said in her address at the 26th silver jubilee matriculation ceremony of the school.

The courses which now enjoy full accreditation include Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Medicine.

The Erudite Scholar and Sub-Dean Faculty of Education Professor Adaobi Obasi ably represented by dean of various faculties said "May I gladly inform all parents and guardians that our programs in Nursing science, Medicine and medical laboratory science which hitherto failed professional accreditation have been re-accredited to the glory of God Almighty".

The courses were re-assessed by the NUC during its accreditation visit to the University in November 2017, the story is different today as it now enjoys full professional accreditation, the wireless informant learnt.

This is to inform all the students of Imo State University that the management of the institution has announced the resumption date for the commencement of the 2017/2018 second semester for returning students. Imo State University will resume for second semester, 2017/2018 academic session on Monday, 19th March 2018 for 200L and above students. The 100L Examination will as well commence Monday, 16th April 2018.

Meanwhile, this is to inform all recently admitted students of the school that the 26th Matriculation Ceremony for 2017/2018 fresh students comes up on Friday, 16th March 2018 across various Faculties in the school. Admissions for 2017/2018 have ended in Imsu.

All fresh students are enjoined to note the following:

i. Fresh students should endeavor to complete their registration before the Matriculation Day.

ii. All matriculating students are to collect academic gowns from their respective Faculty Officers.
.
iii. It is compulsory for all fresh students to attend the ceremony and properly dressed.

iv. The gown should be returned to the point of collection on or before Monday, 16th April. Late submission attracts penalty.

v. Failure to return the gown attracts payment of the full cost for the Academic Gown.

The Faculty of Education and the entire University community is in mourning following the tragic deaths of two students Mr. Uche Increaze Opara, and Miss. Chukwu Queenth Chiamaka of Library and information Science in the faculty of Education.

Shocked and grieving students of the department took round the school Friday 15th December to pay last respect and tribute to the two mates by way of candle light procession.
.
.
The tragic deaths has sent cold shivers down the spine of many, as the out-pour of the grief has spread to other faculties in IMSU where the two students had friends.

The deceased Uche Increaze Opara who hails from Mbaitoli Local Government was said to have been shot on the chest by security guard attached to the traditional ruler during a football match at the community’s primary school.

Uche Increaze was also a member “Eze-in-Council” IMSU Chapter.

As if death was lurking around the corner, Chukwu Queenth Chiamaka, a 200 level student of the same department was also declared dead after she complained of Fever.

Hundreds of students from Imo State University Owerri on Monday 11th December staged a peaceful protest against the poor electricity supply to residents of the school front gate by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

The protest which paralyzed business activities of the company and caused traffic holdup along major roads in owerri was led by Cmrd. Bruno Chimezie (Nwa Aba) and Cmrd. Oforma Charles (Charly).
.
.
The protesting students who marched along major roads in the state capital to besiege the head office of the EEDC located at Douglas by Ama J.k road, insisted that front gate hostels was currently facing poor electricity supply from the company after paying exorbitant rent to hostel owners.

.
The general manager of the Electricity Company attributed the poor electricity supply to long overdue debt owed the company by hostel owners but assured the over hundred students who stormed the head office of power restoration to the area.

Speaking to Campus Reporter Media led by Imsu Elijah, the front gate 6th republic presidential aspirant, Comrade Oforma Charles condemned the constant poor epileptic electricity supply by the EEDC to front gate students.

He said students were the worst hit “We can no longer read our books as a result of poor electricity supply by EEDC” he concluded.

As a result of the peaceful march to the Electricity office, power has been restored to front gate hostels as at evening of same day as promised by the general manager of the company.

Few Weeks after the news of a fresh graduate of Library and Information Science Uche Opara, known also as “Increaze”, who was waiting to defend his Final year Project was shot dead in a football field outside the campus environs, another final year female student of the school (Name Withheld) who is pursuing first degree program in the department of philosophy, faculty of humanities in a media post trending online, was said to have almost killed a 100L colleague in a physical combo/fight that raved between the duo.

The 100L student who was captured in the recently published 2017/2018 merit admission list of the institution (Name also withheld) was admitted into the department of Guidance and counseling, faculty of education, was said to have engaged in a heated argument over “Clothe Issue” that ensued between the both roommate at Albert Hostel, Aladinma student alliance of the institution, which hesitatingly led to the 400L student attempting to slice the new student with pair of scissors, Imsu Elijah, the wireless Informant confirmed.

At the moment, the 400L roommate have entered upon an Undertaken as the Owerri Urban Police Station in Egbu Road by Imo State Fire Service has taken up the case, one of the close family allies told Imsu campus reporter media. A black Saturday Indeed at Imo State University Owerri as 2 final year students of the institution died in a ghastly motor accident.

The accident occurred late hours of Saturday 28 October in the course of attending a funeral of a course mate who lost beloved one.

One of the deceased identified as Miss Ugochukwu Jane, indigenous to Mbano local government of imo state, before her untimely death was a student Senator representing the department of French at Imo state University Student Union Government.

Late Senator Jane was gribbed by the sudden hand of death alongside another female student of French department who boarded same vehicle.

A witness said that the accident happened as a result of a loaded trailer that lost control and collided with their oncoming vehicle, thereby leaving senator jane and one other dead at the spot while others sustained various degree of injuries.

This Sad Incident is coming barely 4 weeks of resumption for 2017/2018 academic session. Our sincere condolence goes to the families of those who lost beloved ones in today's tragedy, may God almighty grant you fortitude to bear this repairable loss, AMEN.

Combined effort of men of the Nigerian police force attached to the main gate of IMO state university owerri have uncovered swindle activities of a particular group who devise crooked means to command sympathy and scoop kindhearted students of their hard earned money all in false pretense of being blind making mockery of the people.

The security men who nabbed the false beggars at the university gate were deployed majorly to curtail exploitative activities of cult boys within the university community during the second semester examination.

Luck ran out of the group when they were called out by a student who identified one of them to have approached him some time ago at ETF building claiming that he lost his wallet containing transport fare and needed help to continue his journey and now seeing the same person among the group asking for help to conduct Professional oculus care for alleged blind eyes.

The group have been publicly photographed and taken into custody, students are warned to be mindful as the issue of corporate and false begging is now in high swing in IMSU even though God gave injunctions in the Bible to provide arm and help to those who are destitute and less privileged.
