Crime / Re: Shaare Attack Nupe Farmers by mahmudjibril: 9:04am On Aug 05, 2016
Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of five farmers from Batapan a suburb of Tsaragi in Edu Local Government area of Kwara State. The suspects who are now in custody of the CID are, Suleiman Jamiu Isiaka Ajibola, Jamiu Olayinka, Abdulrazak Olawoye and Olajide Balogun. The identity of the sixth suspect is yet to be confirmed but they are all from Shaare in Ifelodun local Government area. Kudos to the police in Kwara State.
Crime / Shaare Attack Nupe Farmers by mahmudjibril: 1:46pm On Aug 03, 2016
It is very sad. The murdered Nupes had recently been forced by Shaare youths to abandon the farm after planting the crops, suddenly three days ago they went to meet the farmers in their village asking them to come and harvest their crops. Luckily they went to the police at Shaare where they were asked to sign an agreement t nothing would happen to anybody. The Shaare men were led by the 'olori odo' (youth leader) But on getting to the farm the Shaare men pounced on the Nupes and killed five of them while the remaining person escaped. But for the sixth person that escaped the Shaare war mongers wanted to blame the killing on herdsmen. Let's wait and see what the state government will do about it

Response 4rm GHIL-
In his reaction, the Senior Special Assistant on
Media and Communications to the governor, Dr.
Muideen Akorede, appealed to the people to give
the commission of enquiry benefit of doubt in its
operation.
Dr. Akorede, who said that the state government
had been transparent and objective in the matter,
added that Governor Ahmed did not act as an
indigene of Share community but as an individual
saddled with responsibility to ensure peace and
order in the state.
“There is no extra interest here. The governor
intervened for peace to thrive. Because it’s in the
atmosphere of peace that we can have
development. The commission of enquiry was
meant to find lasting solution to the crisis so that
we can sustain our state as State of Harmony.
It’s premature to cast aspersions or doubt on the
commission.
The right thing is to make their feelings known at
the commission of enquiry and then react after
the findings of the commission”, he said.

The rather empty statement from Akorede is not only insulting to the Nupe community in its substance but also absurd in its entirety. The relevant questions he (Akorede) should ask his boss are 1) what happened to the reports of all previous panels that were set up by the previous Governments of the same state? 2) As a Governor who he (Akorede) is straining to cast as an angel of peace and emblem of neutrality why doesn't Oga start with the implementation of the reports that have been gathering dust all these years? 3) could it be that because the earlier panel reports did not swing the pendulum the way Share community wanted it because the panels were constituted by neither Share nor Tsaragi Governors they delivered verdicts showing neither fear nor favour and their feeble attempts to over turn the. Fair decisions were thwarted by the courts both at lower and appellant levels, a new means must be found to get another judicial panel (to be appointed by the 'son of the soil) report ? 4) is it possible that in utter desperation to have at least one favourable report in favour of Share, there can be no better time than now? What, with 'Omo onile' in Govt House? 5) don't all these justify the sudden unprovoked attack on Tsaragi to provide a perfect excuse for a kangaroo court? By the way, why should Tsaragi people walk through such a dangerous, if glaring, smoke screen only to be confronted with a predetermined but disadvantageous fate accompli with potential historical implications? 6) why has Oga 's neutral credentials shown brightly on his infrastructural provision approach? Share boasts today of a beautiful network of glittering tared roads while their Nupe neighbours have dilapidation to show as hallmark of good neighbourliness. Akorede must let Tsaragi people have answers to the posers or apologies to them for abusing their sensibilities.

No time can be better than now to implement this script, after all, Oga needs no other term!

SHARE/TSARAGI COMMUNAL CRISIS
TSARAGI COMMUNITY REJECTS GOVERNOR ABDULFATAH AHMED CONSTITUTION OF JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY.
Following the recent outbreak of communal crisis between Tsaragi and Share, the attention of Tsaragi community was drawn to yet another Constitution of Inquiry to investigate the issues that led to the crisis and proffer solutions.
It is important to recap that the federal Government of Nigeria following the states and Local Governments creation of 1976, constituted justice mamman Nasir Boundary adjustment commission.
The commission visited the two Communities, and its recomendation accepted by the Federal Government. A white paper was issued on the report by the Kwara state Government.
In 1995/1996 the federal Government again set up justice Mbanefo panel.
The panel visited kwara state and at its public sitting, share community requested the panel to review mamman nasir commission recommendations.
Justice Nbanefo replied categorically that the earlier concluded boundary adjustment issues remained closed and do with.

Nbanefo panel's refusal to review the aforesaid report resulted in another communal disturbance between the 2 communities in 2002.
The kwara state government under the administration of Governor Mohammed Lawal, set up the Deacon Sayami panel to look into the crisis and a report was issued, which was also rejected by Share Community.
In 2008, there was yet another violent disturbance between the two Communities. The State Government under the able leadership of Governor Bukola Saraki, responded by Constituting justice Mohammed Abdulgafar Commission of Inquiry. The commission come out with various loudable recomendations which were accepted by the Government.
It is important to point out that at the public hearing before Hon. Justice Abdulgafr's commission of Inquiry,Share community specifically made a case for the setting aside Mamman Nasir Report. This again was rejected.
Two white paper were issued by the Kwara state Government following Justice Mohammed Abdulgafar Commission report.
Yet again, Share community rejected Justice Mohammed Abdulgafar Commission report and challenged the white paper in the High Court of Justice of Kwara State. The court ruled that the white were duly made. They appealed to the Court of Appeal, ilorin but the judgement of the High Court was affirmed.
Meanwhile, there have been four (4) Commissions/panels on Share/Tsaragi Boundary Dispute, Since 1976 Justice Mamman Nasir Report, all of which were rejected by Share Community.
Having failed to achieve their mission through lawful means, Share community resorted to the use of force, sometimes, by invading Nupe villages with armed youths and ordering the villagers to leave or admit being part of Share District in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state. These acts of lawlessness on the of Share youths, lead to the crisis of 19th -20th December, 2015.
The pertinent questions now, are, to what extent is Governor Ahmed, who is an indigent of Share, impartial in this matter?.
Is it not safe to assume, that Governor Ahmed, is behind the current episode going by his recent actions and utterances?.
Clearly everything points to Governor Ahmed as the Stumbling block towards the resolution of the crisis. We observed at meetings attended by the Tsaragi community with Governor Ahmed at the Government House, Ilorin, that Governor Ahmed Asked question and provided the answers at the same time while addressing Silent issues. We have also observed that the Governor asserted that 'no community owns land' and threatening 'land owners' to adopt 'give and take approach'. This cannot be the stance of a neutral Governor and Chief Security Officer the State.
In the light of the one- sided disposition openly displayed by Governor Ahmed. The Nupes of Tsaragi community have no reason whatsoever to participate in another inquiry moreso when the recommendations of all the previous Commissions/panels on the crisis which have adopted by the Government of Kwara State have not been implemented.
We wish to reiterate that the nupes of Tsaragi community have no Confidence and trust in the institution of another Judicial Commission of Inquiry by Governor Ahmed.
Finally, the nupes in general are peaceful and law abiding people.
We have therefore institute an action in Court to challenge the Governor's action.
The nupes of Tsaragi community and its environs are committed to peaceful co-existence with our igbomina neighbours.
