neofylin has been prescribed for us a couple of times. Apart from the fact that there's research on the internet that says cough syrup is bad for babies, I don't think cough syrup even makes any difference on the cough. You can give a whole bottle and they would still be coughing even worse than before.
When my baby has serious cough, she always tests +ve for infection so we just treat with antibiotics. If the cough is not that serious, I try to keep her warm esp at night and I use honey and all the other home remedies.

exactly,after giving the cough syrup my daughter will sleep and when she is up d cough continues until we went to the hospital for check up and they gave up antibiotics.
