There are three things that control your life. Your strategy, your stories, and your state. A strategy is simply a way to go from A to B or get a specific result. This is why learning, training, and mentoring/coaching are very important. The second are your stories. If I give you a plan to lose weight, but you keep telling me that you have "big bones", you'll never use it. Stories are the reasons we give to ourselves and to others for why we don't have or can't do something. Sometimes, the story gets repeated so much with intensity that it becomes ALIVE. Have you ever met someone who's having a problem today and explaining that it is because of something that happened five years ago? This is his/her story. Finally, there's your state. Your state is simply where you are emotionally. Are you tired, vibrant, excited, passionate, etc? States change during the day and the week. Guess what? Certain states trigger certain stories. You can condition yourself to be in a resourceful state by exercising every morning and changing your focus. Usually we're stuck in an area of our life because of one of several of those things. But here's a simple trick. Start by changing your state FIRST. This will lead you to have empowering stories that will make you search and use the right strategy. Have an amazing day! Even if you're super talented, you have to sell yourself. Recently, I read a comment on an online forum where a user asked a question that went like this: "Guys, I am multi-talented, I've got a very wide network and have a great personality overall. However, I seem to not be able to find someone who is willing to push me to spotlight. What's going on?" What's "going on" is that you have to sell yourself more. When I say "sell yourself", I mean, put yourself out there, use your talent to create positive impact, start volunteering to solve problems in your community, be an agent of change, build complementary partnerships, innovate…TAKE RISKS! Because, unfortunately, even the best products don't sell themselves. They need a courageous salesman to put them in front of a consumer. You are the product AND the salesman. Have an amazing day! In his 1999 book, "The Age of Spiritual Machines", Ray Kurzweil proposed "The Law of Accelerating Returns", which said the rate of change in a wide variety of evolutionary systems (including, but not limited to, the growth of technologies) tends to increase exponentially. The pace of change in various areas of life is increasing exponentially. For the records, Brexit, Trump, and the rise of Asia's middle class typify major examples of these exponential changes. Like every exponential change, this shift can create either disruptive stress or opportunity for business owners and entrepreneurs. I like to think in terms of opportunity, so let me offer a few key ideas that will help you create incredible business breakthrough today and in the coming years. 1. NO MORE LOCAL AND LINEAR THINKING As human beings, we naturally think locally and in a linear manner. We associate and marry locally, go to a nearby school, and follow a year-based educational system. We look at salary as annual and try to go up "the corporate ladder". A lot of entrepreneurs are missing on opportunities because of this mindset. You have to think globally and exponentially now. You can spread your tentacles to other continents and do business with people from all the over world. You can choose to live and do business in different parts of the world and even learn different languages. As a matter of fact, learning to speak different languages has proven to be worth a lot in terms of opportunities. If you're a native English speaker, then the second most important language you can learn is Spanish. If you're not a native English speaker, then mastering English and Spanish will open doors for you. 2. SIMPLIFY The world has become so complex that only those who can simplify will survive. Simplify your life and help others simplify their lives as well. Create solutions that will help people save time and money, and make their lives less complex. Like you well know, complexity triggers negative emotions and you'll be doing the world a lot of good by helping to eliminate those negative emotions while getting paid for bringing value to the marketplace. 3. THINK SCALABILITY When starting or building a business, most people tend to limit their thinking to just running a venture that will generate enough income to keep body and soul together and nothing more. That's rubbish. You should never forget that until your business is scalable and saleable, you don't really have a business. The bottom line is therefore, to have a business that is inherently easy to scale, in other words, to attract and accommodate increased demand. You want a business that has the capacity to grow to an autonomous entity that will provide large amounts of value to people. Because scalability is the only way to achieve high income that will ultimately lead to wealth. 4. USE SOCIAL MEDIA WISELY Except for business purposes, social media is not your friend. It's your enemy. It takes your time and impedes personal productivity. For this reason, you should stop using social media to just connect with friends. Use it to your business advantage or steer clear from it! There is more to this process, but this list is a good start. I hope this was helpful. Keep learning and keep aiming for the best. You have most likely heard the phrase, "He has an attitude!" This is usually a derogatory remark made about a person with a disagreeable attitude. But the word 'attitude' is an important one when discussing entrepreneurship or business ownership. A good attitude...a good mindset can't insure success but a bad attitude and a bad mindset can certainly guarantee failure. Here are some wrong attitudes that will absolutely guarantee failure in business: I CAN WORK WHEN I WANT TO Wrong, wrong, wrong! You can't just work when you feel like it. You have to expect to put in many long and very tedious hours of very hard work to make a new business enterprise succeed. I CAN GET RICH QUICK! You couldn't be more wrong and you are not only wrong but you are putting yourself in danger as well. There are bazillions of crooks out there who are waiting for their next easy mark and if you are looking for a quick way to get rich, you ARE the next mark. It is possible to make a very comfortable living with whatever business model you choose to go into, but if anybody ever tells you it is quick or easy, they are lying to you. I DON'T NEED A BUSINESS PLAN FOR CERTAIN KIND OF BUSINESS There you are...wrong yet again. Whether you're doing an online business or selling products and services offline, the same business principles that apply to online business also apply to brick and mortar business. It is therefore imperative that you have a plan for success that is based upon sound business principles. WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN BUSINESS, YOU DON'T HAVE A BOSS Wrong again! You are your boss. If you aren't a good boss who sees to it that work is accomplished on time and in full, you will doom yourself to certain failure. Unless you are a boss who sets up a working schedule and establishes goals that must be met, you will find yourself working at a job under a boss who engages in doing those things that are unhealthy for a business and maybe for minimum wage. Deal with these wrong attitudes today and you'll be on your way to creating unstoppable business breakthrough. Have an amazing day!

Once in awhile, I reflect on how most people tend to behave in relationships. The younger they are,the more games they seem to play. They lie, cheat, and seem very confused about what areal relationship is. While I understand the ego boost of playing games and (successfully) lying to one's partner, I believe most people sell themselves short by leading a life of deceit. Let me explain. They don't realize the leverage of being honest with themselves and their relationship partner or spouse. An individual who is upfront and honest about what he/she wants will get more from his/her life than the person who constantly lies. Take the man who's having an affair. It's a huge waste of a man's time to be dating or married to a woman he doesn't like AND spreading himself thin with a second woman. Women are also not left out in this. In fact, it's a big shame for any woman to be a player. Some people are just not fit to be married or in a relationship, and it's absolutely OK. They're better off waiting for the right time to be with someone they can really commit to, rather than jumping into a serious relationship and then playing games. Playing games in a relationship is a gigantic waste of time both for a man and a woman. I know a guy who is engaged to a beautiful lady and still tries to cheat with other women. He spends an incredible amount of time hanging out, chasing and chatting up the local talent. He lies all the time, and lives in a constant state of stress and guilt. All this, with little result in comparison to the time and mental bandwidth invested. Time and mental bandwidth that he could have used to design his future marriage with his fiancée. Imagine if he had done the work necessary to end an engagement or relationship that doesn't fulfill him. WIN! Imagine if he had done the work necessary to build the relationship on a correct foundation that he doesn't feel the need to compromise for whatever reason. WIN! Imagine if he had done the work necessary to make his relationship evolve to a new level of honesty and openness in which he enlists the help of experienced marriage counselors to tackle his problem with 'Mr Flesh'. WIN! All of these actions represent three different outcomes, but they have one common trait: no game is played. You can design a relationship that fulfills you, but work is involved. There's a lot to lose in playing games and very little to gain in comparison to radical honesty. Have an amazing day! Source: www.bonusideas.com.ng |
