However, when it comes to U20, to compete at the highest level like their counterpart, our players needs to play in a good professional league. Don't be fooled if you are expecting them to do well with our poor league.

Two Sporting Lagos Academy lads made the Initial 62-man list (but recall that since it is Open Camp, more than 62 are expected to be screened).

One of the two is Abuchi Lawrence. Interesting young left footed attacking talent who bagged 23 goals and 8 assists in 22 games in the 2025/2026 TCC League (The Creative Championship).

He also scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 7 NLO (Nationwide League one) games for Sporting Lagos Academy.

I really hope this 2026/27 U17 Camping Class gives us a firecracker generational team.

How do this West African French countries always look more organized and tidy in their football than their Anglo speaking counterparts? CIV, Senegal, and even Burkina Faso always play some good football at youth level and get scouted by bigger clubs compared to us.
