forgiveness: Ekong, Nwabali and Lookman were the top 3 performers at AFCON. Followed by the rest. Even Sinom self perfomed. Osimhen performed but kept missing chances. He wasn't top 5 to be candid.
Where do we place Aina, Bassey and Seyi? In short, all of them performed but Ekong, Nwabali and Lookman were outstanding. you are correct its just the terrible tag that I'm against |

M7even: For posterity sake there was nothing special in Osimhen's AFCON performance. Let's set this clear.
Osimhen's performance was not in any sense bigger than the whole team's performance.
From Stanley Nwabali who was our goalkeeper and the revelation of the tournament. To the balance of play grit and sturdy display of Ekong, Bassey, Aina, calmness of Ajayi.
The midfield brought about Oneyka, whose tireless run were magnificent. It placed Iwobi in a position where he was mostly ineffective in our midfield and became the food for trolls. Chukwueze , Moses Simon , Lookman perfemored decently.
Osimhen was the star boy, and I dare say that after his two missed chances against Equatorial Guinea, where we played our most dominant game, let's not forget when we say the coach is ultradefensive that he didn't start the tournament that way, but realized the enormous mistake he might make if he didn't make such adjustment to suit Osimhen.
Iwobi's two creative passes to Osimhen were squandered by Osimhen in our opening game in AFCON. In subsequent games Iwobi is forced to sit deeper with Onyeka killing his creativity for the good of the game. If Osimhen had converted those chances , we might have been sure that we have a constant scorer who will go on to achieve the highest goal scorer like Jude Ighalo did in 2019 under Gernot Rohr. Rohr is a much more defensive manager.
Take nothing away from the ruggedness of Osimhen winning penalties and all, but should Lookman possess just similar skills like Osimhen then we are doomed for exit. Thankfully we had a manager who controlled his game well and understood his team well. That AFCON tournament in Ivory coast had no forgiveness. Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Ivory coast were àll beaten by minnows.
If Osimhen had the goals in the last AFCON I dare say he probably will not be playing at Galatasaray right now.
Ighalo was brought over to Manchester united by Ole Solsjaer simply because of his exploit at the 2019 AFCON where he was top scorer.
It only took Rohr one match to change his first choice striker from Onuachu to Ighalo in the match against Burundi at 2019. Though Osimhen will later score the equalizer through a Lookman lob as we settled for a draw. But that was enough to make the coach switch up to allow Osimhen play to his rugged strength and give room for Lookman to run behind him and do the finishing. nice Was Osimhen terrible? |

Bannedlargejr: A player that Caf included in their Afcon XI was claimed by you that another forward was better than him. That’s a disrespect to CAF XI selection by you. If starboy had a better performance than Lookman at the ANC for Nigeria, why didn’t Caf included starboy rather than lookman? Answer objectively or deactivate was Ekong better than lookman? Or you too want to disrespect caf by naming lookman our best player at afcon |

Bannedlargejr: Story for the gods. Osimehn is a hardworking player for Nigeria but at the last ANC, he worked hard and created chances but his conversion rate and chances missed was atrocious and it cannot be negated. His ANC performance contributed to bigger clubs being skeptical on paying that release clause. Although, his still an extremely useful player and our best striker but that ANC performance was average No ooh it was terrible |

chrisooblog: Thanks again Basco for always coming through with the highlights for those of us too busy or occupied to watch live.
Nice play from Bruno probably his best performance in the SE so far. Osimhen's missed chance in the 1 half denied him a well deserved assist. With more performances like this I think he will have the LB position on lockdown. Probably needs to improve in the physical battles more still looks slightly lightweight to me.
Aina and Bassey look seriously off colour defense wise. Need to do better especially for next years high pressure WC qualifiers.
Attack wise Osimhen was the only consistent threat. Yes he missed a sitter but made up for it with his crucial goal towards the end. Honestly our other forwards need to come to the party so we don't turn into a mostly Osimhen and Inshallah team.
S. Moses well done. I'm one of his biggest critics on these streets but he has become more reliable lately and understands his game better and how it impacts the team's performance. Hope Chukwueze is taking notes.
Condolences to Nwabobo on the loss of his father. May God give him and his family comfort at this trying time. To his performance no sugarcoating it Stanley was largely at fault for the conceded goal. A mistake let's be honest we would have dragged Okoye and Uzoho centuries for. I guess Nwabali's consistent performances for the SE since his debut this year has(deservedly in my opinion) earned him some reprieve but he should watch it because someone is waiting in the wings if too many blunders become part of his game.
Monday's game is for all intents and purposes a competitive friendly for us so I would like to see AE give the likes of Onyedika, Yusuf, Osho, Boniface/Sadiq etc a good run out. No need to stress Osimhen and Lookman we know their quality already. for Osimhen should start we need him to continue scoring |

Except if mancity wish to sign him sha as a replacement for failing doku and grealish His story maybe like Salah who struggled for Chelsea and is balling for Liverpool Lookman struggled for Everton but did OK with fulham and leicester and I believe he will do very well for a team like Arsenal |

For me, I don't pretend, I say it the way it is but I always choose my words carefully so that it doesn't seem as if I want to insult anyone, but I will always be blunt with the truth, I no dey fear anybody and I owe nobody any apology because I need to say my mind.
