A so called man of God, Pastor Paul Morah, who allegedly defiled » 24 young boys in Ebonyi State, has been arrested by the State Police Command in the Enyibichiri Ikwo Local Government Area of the state, Leadership Newspaper reports. It was gathered that Pastor Morah who originally is from Orji River Local Government Area in Enugu State, was posted to Ebonyi by the Anglican Church for pastoral mission but he ended up committing the atrocities for which he has been nabbed. The report has it that Pastor Morah used a diabolical handkerchief to lure some of the children to his lair, especially those who tried to resist him. The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP George Okafor , who confirmed the incident, said he would brief Journalists when investigations into the matter has been concluded. “We are aware of the matter. We are still investigating the matter. But latest tomorrow,we will get back to the press,” Okafor promised. However, the coordinator of Ikwo East Development Centre, Hon. Chinedu Ogbuoji, who also confirmed the development, said it was pathetic, lamenting some evil people hiding under religion to perpetrate heinous crimes » against humanity. “The incident is a pathetic one because these days, some people hide themselves under the umbrella of religion to perpetrate evil. He told us that his name is Paul Morah from Enugu State. He claimed to be a pastor. But when we interrogated him further, he said he spent only three weeks in the church before he was suspended by the Anglican church in Enyibichiri community. People from my area reported the incident to me yesterday and I intervened with the support of the town union leader and the youths who came out because of the importance of security to the state government.” http://mainevibez..co.ke/2016/06/shockingebonyi-pastor-who-deffiled-24.html?m=0

England striker Daniel Sturridge says age is no barrier to success at Euro 2016, which gets under way this week. With an average age of 25, England have the youngest squad at the tournament, but Sturridge says that should be viewed as a "strength not a weakness". He also insisted England's older players will not be scarred by previous failures in major tournaments. "We know there will be a lot of eyes on us," said the Liverpool star. "I think we will enjoy the occasion and thrive." Asked if England were favourites to win Euro 2016, which is being held in France, he added: "I think that is down to everyone else to decide." Roy Hodgson's side failed to make it past the group stages at the 2014 World Cup and were knocked out at the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 by Italy. As England prepare for their opening Euro 2016 match against Russia on Saturday, Ryan Bertrand trained separately from the main squad on Tuesday. The Southampton full-back, who missed the final warm-up game against Portugal last week with an unspecified injury, worked separately with physio Gary Lewin at England's base in Chantilly. After facing Russia, Roy Hodgson's side come up against Wales and Slovakia in their other Group B games in France. http://mainevibez..co.ke/2016/06/daniel-sturstridge-says-youth-is.html?m=0

Yesterday, Monday, June 6, 2016, popular Nigerian stand-up comedian Basketmouth took to Instagram to pen an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari. According to him, we are all collectively responsible for what befalls our country. “ We are the country. The rest na just land, ” he wrote. Read his full piece below: "As I am learning to stop complaining and get used to the electricity situation in my beloved Nigeria, i can't help but worry about other bigger problems facing my country at large. Once again a land already polluted with blood and oil is reported to be witnessing beheadings by religious fanatics, murders by herdsmen, and bombing of oil pipelines by a supposedly impoverished and marginalised deltan posse, let's not talk about the Biafran agitators, kidnapping and robberies....confusion everywhere. ALSO READ: Basketmouth Comedian meets Olajumoke Orisaguna » I am an entertainer so i try to leave politics for politicians(cos i believe everybody should maintain dia own lane). However, I cant seem to understand why my beloved country will not intervene to help alleviate the sufferings and helplessness of its people. When the poor cry for help and are ignored, it can be a recipe for turmoil and when the rich also cry, can't afford to travel because flight tickets are out of their reach, can't afford to eat as they used to and all channels of their lush incomes are closed overnight, then you begin to sense a whiff of desperation. The media also reports bias in the security handling of issues as it affects the North, West, East and South. In my humble opinion, i do not think it will hurt PMB to address this issues from time to time as much as he addresses the issue of corruption. It hurts my senses when i hear people praising the likes of Ayo Fayose or calling for return of corruption (hard to tell if they are serious or joking) hearing the soothing voice of our leaders will go a long way in strengthening is as we plunge further into the unknown. ALSO READ: Basketmouth ‘Why I don’t make enough money online’, comedian explains » So in all of these, I am listening to hear the wise words of President Buhari, I know he has opinions about all these because i know he reads the papers and he has access to security reports, but sometimes it's like his media advisers dont get his memo or they seem to get it a week after he sends it and by which time other depressing issues have taken over. http://mainevibez..co.ke/2016/06/imagine-read-what-comedian-basketmouth.html?m=0 |
A car bomb attack targeting a police bus has killed at least 11 people in central Istanbul, officials say. The explosives were remotely detonated as the vehicle passed through the busy Vezneciler district at the morning rush hour, reports said. No group has said it carried out the attack. Violence in Turkey has escalated recently as a result of tensions with Kurdish separatists and the conflict in neighbouring Syria. The explosion happened near the city's historic Beyazit Square neighbourhood, a major tourist attraction. Four civilians and seven police officers were among the dead, Istanbul's governor, Vasip Sahin, said. Some 36 other people were injured, he added. Pictures showed the wreckage of a bus destroyed and the facade of nearby buildings damaged. Armed police were also seen next to the site. Reports said gunfire was heard in the area after the blast. http://mainevibez..co.ke/2016/06/bomb-attack-on-isreali-bus-kills-11.html?m=0 |
