The Nigerian oil firm has reportedly flouted Tanzanian regulations on proper standard of products twice in six months for importing substandard fuel products which has cased huge uproar in the East African country's oil sector. Stakeholders in Tanzania's energy sector are against the new deal signed by the state run Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency(PBPA) to reinstate the Nigerian oil traders. They feel that the Nigerian firm is not qualified to have a new contract given .that it should be facing legal actions for providing substandard fuel yo the country on two separate occasions in the last six months.. http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/08/tanzania-at-war-with-nigeria-oil-firm.html?m=1 comment #lalasticlala |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has described the bail granted an aide to the governor of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose as “shocking” . The spokesperson to the EFFC Wilson Uwujaren said the commission will appeal the ruling of an Abuja High Court judge Adeniyi Olukayode on the detention of Abiodun Agbele. Uwujaren said the judge’s conclusion on the matter is “curious” against the background of the information made available to the court which included the fact that the suspect was being held with a valid remand warrant from a Magistrate Court in Lagos. http://mainevibez..nl/2016/07/efcc-denies-ayo-fayoses-aides-bail.html?m=1 #lalasticlala |

Nigeria is now making progress on producing all sorts of militants(Boko-haram,Fulani-herdsmen,niger-delta militants)all working againt the nigeria government.. Wondering which militant will show up next..maybe the Yoruba militants!!! President buhari Speaking in similar vein, July 5, the Reformed Egbesu Boys of Niger Delta, in a statement, said: “Since we called off hostilities in collaboration with the Niger Delta Avengers, although reluctantly… we have observed the `I do not care’ attitude of the Federal Government on its much flaunted and publicized dialogue option with key actors of the crisis.” The group’s so-called General Tony Alagbakereowei said: “The Secretary to the Federal Government alleged that there are numerous groups and interested parties, who want to negotiate with the Federal Government and that there is no clear leadership that the Federal Government could trust and negotiate with. This is not only preposterous, but smacks off a predetermined mindset. N_delta militants “In as much as this could be tru some extent, we wish to state that the Federal Government allowed miscreants and meddlesome interlopers seeking relevance in Abuja to gain pipeline contracts and appointments to deceive key actors of the government.” Meanwhile, on Buhari’s stand that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable, the Ijaw People Development Initiative, IPDI, a non- governmental organization, said: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement made by Mr President while breaking fast with Muslims leaders in Aso Rock, that Nigeria ‘s unity is not negotiable. He even went down memory lane on how General Yakubu Gowon handled the civil war.” Anger spreads National President of the group, Austin Ozobo, in a statement, said: “He then handed down a threat, which will further aggravate tension in the region when he said that he is passing a message to the militants that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable. This does not go down well with some of us. Nigeria’s false marriage is now incompatible; it is not the duty of President Buhari to decide whether it is negotiable or not, and that can only be determined through a referendum, and that power rests with the electorate, not the President.” “His threat only implies that, in a nutshell, if the people of the region fail to see reason with him regarding his rigid position, Armageddon shall descend on the region. “We find Mr. President’s statement not only repulsive, but totally disrespectful to the millions of Nigerians, who, on daily basis, have been calling for restructuring, true federalism and self-determination, a fundamental right as clearly stated in United Nations Charter and Africa Charter and People’s Rights. I”President Buhari’s voice most of the time polarizes the country more. As a leader, listening to the cries of your people is far better than forcing your opinion based on ethnic and religious sentiment down our throats. “Nigerian state came into being through forcefully marriage under Sir Lugard, without the consent and input of Niger Deltans on how they should be governed and how they want to live with other ethnic nationalities. “We reject this ‘ monkey dey work, baboon dey chop treatment’ from the Nigerian state. We once again join progressive minds calling for true federalism because this is the only way out of the currrent agitations from several quarters”. Buhari’s metamorphosis Findings by Sunday Vanguard, however, showed that Buhari was initially excited about the Federal Government dialoguing with militants and stakeholders in the Niger Delta, but, along the line, seemed to have changed his mind, as he is no longer disposed to dialogue. A source said some top security officials and politicians around the President convinced him that negotiating with Niger Delta militants would mean that government succumbed to their blackmail. The different interest groups mounted pressure on Buhari, who shifted from his earlier position. The militants, who were, according to sources, suspicious of government negotiators all along, reportedly saw the President’s latter-day reorganization of Operation Pulo Shield, now Operation Delta Safe, redeployment of security personnel from the North to the Niger-Delta on the grounds that those in the region were incompetent and the crackdown on militants, as a sign that government was no longer interested in dialogue. Our dependable source said: “The truth is that there were intrigues and power play, involved the details of which are better classified in national interest. But the President chose to hold his grounds against militants than yield to them in the name of dialogue.” Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, however, hit the nail on the head, on Friday, when he said government deliberately refused to discuss with NDA. Osinbajo, who delivered the second foundation lecture of Elizade University,Ilaramokin, Ondo State, said NDA members are not freedom fighters but economic warriors fighting for their own private pockets. “The so-called Avengers are not freedom fighters but fighting for their own economic benefits. They are avenging for their private pockets and that is why government is not talking with them”, he stated. The Vice President, however, said that the Federal Government had concluded arrangements to tackle the menace of pipeline vandalism in the Niger/Delta. While condemning the activities of the militants who claimed responsibility for the vandalization of petroleum pipelines in the oil-rich region, said “The previous government neglected the region for several years, hence the current challenges”.. Osigbo said government had put the machinery in motion to curtail the activities NDA. .He also lamented that attacks by the group on oil and gas pipelines were responsible for the epileptic power supply in the country as well as the inability of state governors to pay workers’ salaries due to the low revenue generated in the oil sector http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/07/buhari-cancel-dialogue-with-niger.html?m=0 comment#lalasticlala |

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for making Nigeria an Islamic country. The group claimed that Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau breached the Nigerian Constitution by taking by taking orders from a private religious leader – the Sultan of Sokoto in extending a national holiday to mark the Eid-el-Fitr from two to three days. Daily Post reports that HURIWA also slammed the Nigerian government for creating doubt and causing commotion to the businesses and the private sector by the one-sided and unprepared announcement of one more day to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting. The rights group in a statement stated that the Nigerian Constitution clearly provided in section 10 that no special religion should be elevated to a status of a state religion. http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/07/buhari-planning-to-islamize.html?m=0 |

A Belgian court has jailed four leaders of a "terror cell" broken up in a deadly raid in 2015, which had alleged links to the men who staged attacks in Paris and Brussels. Marouan El Bali, who survived a gunfight in January 2015 when police shot dead two armed men, was given 16 years in prison on Tuesday, as were two other members of the cell, Mohammed Arshad Mahmood Najmi and Souhaib El Abdi. The judge said El Bali was in touch with leading figures of armed groups in Syria and was involved in tactical discussions. Prosecutors alleged the suspects were members of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) cell dismantled in a bloody raid in the Belgian town of Verviers. Prosecutors said the men standing trial were in constant contact with ISIL through the leader of the Paris attacks in November, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, and were planning an attack in Belgium. http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/07/suspects-linked-to-paris-attacks.html?m=0 |
One million anonymised eye scans from Moorfields Eye Hospital will be used to train an artificial intelligence (AI) system from Google. Machine learning algorithms will scour the images for signs of diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetes-related sight loss. Moorfields is teaming up with Google's AI division DeepMind during the scheme. Previously, DeepMind faced criticism over a little-known data sharing agreement with three London hospitals. An agreement to share patient data from the Royal Free, Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals over the past five years and continuing until 2017 was revealed by the New Scientist in May. In that case, Google said it was analysing kidney data in the hope of developing an app for medical staff. The app, called Streams, would notify doctors should someone be at risk of developing acute kidney injury (AKI). Announcing the latest venture with Moorfields, Google has cited the support of the Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB) and sight charities such as the Macular Society. 'Revolutionary' potential "How it plays out over time remains to be seen," Sam Smith, a co-ordinator at patient data campaign group MedConfidential, told the BBC. "But you do have organisations involved that aren't principally concerned with DeepMind - they care about blindness in the case of RNIB and long term medical research in the case of the National Institute for Health Research." "Maybe they have learnt the lessons of their Royal Free fiasco," the MedConfidential Twitter account tweeted , "Not that they've shared what they learnt from that..." One tech journalist, Gareth Corfield, tweeted that he "hit the roof" after reading the news. He has written a letter to Moorfields citing the Data Protection Act. "This is a serious dereliction of your duties as a data controller," he wrote. "To be crystal clear, I have not consented for my personal data to be used by Moorfields NHS Trust for any purpose other than treating me for genuine medical purposes." However, current rules state that as long as data is anonymised it may be shared for ethically approved projects. Moorfields has published a Q&A on the DeepMind collaboration which adds, "patients can opt out of any data-sharing system by emailing the Trust's data protection officer". "Our research with DeepMind has the potential to revolutionise the way professionals carry out eye tests and could lead to earlier detection and treatment of common eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration," said Prof Sir Peng Tee Khaw, director of the National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre in Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Google has said it is estimated that up to 98% of sight loss that is a result of diabetes can be prevented with early treatment. http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/07/googles-deepmind-to-peek-at-nhs-eye.html?m=0 |

President spokesperson sa ys the national Assembly leadership will no longer meet with the president which he hives reason for the event According to Garba Shehu, the president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, the president is not willing to meet with the leadership of the Nigerian Senate as well as other leaders of the National Assembly to break the Ramadan fast with them. Speaking with mainevibez Reporters, Shehu noted that there’s no way the president will still meet with the National Assembly leaders before the end of the Ramadan fast which is likely to end on Monday or Tuesday, June 5 (which has been announced as Public Holiday already). Different groups and leaders have been hosted by the president since his return to the country from London where he went to treat an ear infection but the National Assembly has been omitted. About two weeks ago, President Buhari was scheduled to host the leaders of both chambers of NASS to Iftar, but the meeting was canceled a few hours with the Nigerian leader stating that he was bombarded with schedules. He said: “You will recall that the President spent most of the days in the Ramadan month outside the country. “By the time he returned, a schedule had already been made for him on those he would be receiving daily. http://mainevibez..co.id/2016/07/president-buhari-finally-spits-fire-on.html?m=0 |
