Politics / Re: Corruption Massive Under Jonathan – US by MajeOfficial: 7:57am On Apr 21, 2013
I just dont believe the US government would use a Nigerian English term like "corruption massive" because in american such butchered english makes no sense for common thieves let alone the government.

I also agree that she did very well. When presented with issues, she would elaborate and tell the origin, past, and present of the issue to that they're understood better then she told what the government is doing about it.

Anyone saying she subverted any questions had their statement saved on a Word document before the interview started. She did very well, stop the unnecessary hatred because it makes it impossible to see our real issues when every word spoken by a nigerian is seen as an issue by nigerians.

Nobody downplayed the report you slowpoke, these are facts.
You're accusing the US media of lying, and hoping the Nigerian media 'begins' to lie as well. Strange.

That pic is some Sani Abacha times.
It's funny but whenever i post the Aba skyline, moderators delete it and ban me.
I'll still post it though. You moderators don't understand that you're not insulting igbos by doing this, we know Aba is a great industrious city, you're hurting nigeria because you're trying to insult aba on the global internet to a world that will associate yoruba to Aba because they don't know or care about the difference. Also, you're not changing the facts of life on an internet forum. I won't relent from the truth, sorry.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Biggest Problem: Mediocrity Or Corruption by MajeOfficial: 5:28pm On Apr 02, 2013
also, nigeria has bad leadership AND bad citizenship and the citizens should be more responsible and stop blaming the government for everything because we're equally guilty. If you tell the average nigerian that you won't take a bribe (which isn't unbelievable) they will act as if you're insane and call you americana. Well they do this in front of their children and the lesson they're teach their children is that it's unusual to be an honest and decent human being. government isn't any more corrupt than churches, markets, and anything else touched by citizen hands. These politicians are citizens after all, it's not military rule anymore.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Biggest Problem: Mediocrity Or Corruption by MajeOfficial: 5:26pm On Apr 02, 2013
Mediocrity!!!

Nigeria has everything the US has only in a severly more inferior grade and quality. It's not that the money for world class institutions isn't there, but people expect rubbish, elect rubbish, and celebrate it. Thus the leaders know they can build a road with no side walks and 10% cement 90% sand, and people will celebrate them while they keep the money for themselves. They know they can pay employees 2 months late and on the day of payment the employees will celebrate. Schools know they can hire alcoholics as teachers and nobody will question it. Corruption exists because the culture is to horde money and travel if you want quality. Look at our hospitals and schools. Even the common man will build and buy inferior things to horde money, not knowing that he's making himself suffer in the name of nothing.
Politics / Re: Why Do North And South All Over The World Alway Fight Each Other by MajeOfficial: 7:33am On Mar 31, 2013
1. Climate/Latitude: Climate is based on latitude, culture is based on climate. If you notice with all north south divided, the cultures are different. If you look at cultures on the same latitude, like Igbo, Yoruba, Ashante, Edo, Ashante, the differences are trivial. The languages are different due to distance, and the attire may change in pattern, but they'll dress for the same type of weather, farm the same foods, and form the same cultural institutions based on what they can do agriculturally. If you look at south america, african, and south east asia, cultures were similar due to tropical climate. where as europe and asia had similar institutions because the difference in climate as well. Then you go higher to inuits in canada and seberian cossacks, same. Humans adapt to what's around them and the same latitude means the same surroundings.

now in Nigeria if you go north you notice the climate change, and with the climate changes comes change in terrain and more radical changes in culture. These differences will thus cause misunderstanding, alientation, and conflict. There's a human habit of seeing to different things and wondering which is better for the two choices. When north and south meet, there are more differences and more opportunities to shed blood over the argument or fear of what's 'different'.

In the US, the South functions more like Africa than the North because the South is hotter. People are later in the south, everyone is more laid back, respect for elders and respect for others is more important, agriculture is king, people spend more of their day outside. In the north they deal with things the south and africa don't deal with, snow storms, a more rigid climate season rotation, different types of vegetation etc. Their culture is thus different.

2. Human Migration: Disease makes dictates human migration. humans thus spread more rapidly east and west than they do north and south. Why? again, latitude. Some bacteria live in some latitudes exclusively but can't live in others because the climate will kill them or the climate doesn't provide them with food. Thus east and west tend to be more inclined to trade and travel among each other while north and south avoid and fight each other. Northern Nigerians are dependent on cows that prior to modern technology would have died in southern nigeria due to the tsetse fly. Europeans couldn't occupy Nigeria in large number because they weren't immune to malaria to the extent that africans were. Where as the same disease an Igbo faces, a Cameroonian, and Edo man, a Yoruba and a Togolais will face them because latitude. Thus humans migrate east and west, and are more likely to be genetically and linguistically related to their east/west neighbors than their north and south neighbors. Just think of a trip to Ghana by road. Now think of how much more brutal a trip northwards in africa would be from Nigeria of equal distance. Surviving in Nigeria and surviving in Ghana require the same skills. Surviving in North nigeria and southern nigeria require a whole different set of skills.
