Career / Re: Share Your Interview Experience In The Comments by majestique(f): 8:47am On Feb 21
Hmm...I went for a job interview late last year in a multinational company Lagos. I spent 2 days and nights prepping for the interview (interview invitation came late) that I was too sure of myself. The 'd' day came and I got to the venue very early to avoid stories that touch.

We waited for 1 hour outside before we were asked to come in. Afterwards, we did a small test while we waited for the g.m who I heard was the one to conduct the second stage of the interview. Minutes later, we were asked to go outside and sit under the scorching sun as they would like to attend to their customers.

Finally, the g.m arrived and the second interview started. I scanned the place, the other candidates seemed to be in their 20's and me late 30's, meaning that I was the oldest there. Secondly, they were casually dressed and I was formally dressed which I thought should be a plus for me.

Two hours later, I was called inside and by then I was somehow exhausted from lack of sleep to hunger to the being under the sun for long. Immediately I got to the g.m's table, before I could even say a word, she asked me to go back to the door and come back. I obeyed and came back. We exchanged greetings and I sat down. She asked a few questions about myself and where I live and the next thing she said to me was that she likes everything about me but she can't interview me because I was smelling. My world came to an end immediately. I went blank... I have been going for interviews, I have worked for 6 years before quitting and no one has ever told me I was smelling. Why now, what went wrong. The dress I was putting on was my best, I bought it 30k. I used perfume before leaving the house. I took minted sweet before stepping into her office so what exactly was smelling on me.

I calmed down and I tried to explain to her that it was possible I had sweat from long exposure to sun and heat and as a result my dress has trapped the smell but this woman refused to listen to my plea. That the reason why she asked me to go back to the door was because she wanted to be sure the smell was from me. Haa... the embarrassment was much. I thanked her and left. I kept asking myself, if I was smelling this bad why didn't people run from me even when I was in the bus.. I just concluded that it was not my destiny but since that time, I stopped going for interviews. I'd rather be self employed than have anyone insult me again.

Nigerians are all going through a lot. I carry a man on my bike today, some agbero stop me and start hailing the man, I wish you see how he lambasted them to go hustle that he couldn't use his car for past few days. He no easy ooo

Hmmm... it's not easy at all. One thing I know for sure is this, seasons come and go; this season of pain will surely go one day.

Go and hustle.
Pregnant mothers tying babies on their back hustle and don't complain.

If you feel pain in your stomach, go and sell pure water. Drink one satchel. You need water more than food.
Nonsense.

That's not nice. Please show love instead of mocking his situation. May God help us all.

Family / Re: Why Do Married Men Suddenly Lose Interest In Their Wives and try to avoid her? by majestique(f): 6:11pm On Jun 14, 2023
Jossyfine:
All the comments above have not actually hit the nail in the right place. The major issue is that African marriages are not laced with romance and affection.
How do I mean?
* Most couple stop showing affection to each other once they start bearing kids and over see finish has crawled into their marriage.
* African couples rarely make out for themselves alone in terms of going on dates ( at least once in a while)
* Marriage is what you put in it ,that’s what you get, you should learn to do things together ie weekends both man and wife can create time to put the huz in order( not by force) but with love cuz it creates bond between couples.
*You can create low budget vacation for just you both without the kids.
*Once in a while try having sex outside the huz, look for an affordable hotel around ur area and maybe do just one night.
* Marriage shouldn’t be about the kids, cuz have noticed what most couple talk about the kids, bills and family issues.Spice it up a little and gist about ur selves, probably the sex you had the previous night😜
* Let there be stewardship ( you guys should always review ur attitude towards each other by asking if each is meeting up expectations etc)*

*Most African couple rarely send romantic messages unlike when they were dating when most times you wake up to see sweet soul piercing messages from ur lover. But in marriage all the messages are for purchases of huz hold items.

Marriage is sweet but not in Africa. Africa marriages are very boring😭

Am just wondering how I survived 10 freaking years 😳😳😳and it’s still counting 😔

knew it will get to this. So christians are now minority because some foolish ones voted for tinubu? Oh, you think all the votes tinubu got came from only Muslims? Excuse me, you think peter obi is an Igbo project? I'm from the north but I voted for him. You think the Muslims would have voted a Christian Christian presidency? How dare you make mockery of Christianity. My only prayer for people like you is that you will live long to see the reward of your wickedness.

It is well...I'm from the north but I'm happy that I queued under the sun to get my pvc and I'm also happy that I voted for his excellency, peter obi. To me and other sensible Nigerians that desire a breath of fresh air, he is and will be our president. As for those that allowed tribalism to becloud their sense of reasoning, be rest assured that the blood of all the innocent people that this evil (apc) party wasted in one way or the other is on your head. It will speak against everyone of you. To my good people from the west, east, south, north... please don't take laws into your hands. You have done what you should do as good citizens.

Oh well, being a female is a plus for me because I believe a woman has all it takes to move this nation forward. But judging from the article I just read, she hasn't said anything she'll do better if elected. This is not a time to gamble; we have suffered enough! I don't care if you're male or female, black or white, tall or short, east or west. If you can do the job, you have my vote!

How long has this been going on? Before the pregnancy or after the pregnancy?

Trust me, pregnancy can make good women exhibit questionable characters...it gets worst days after giving birth.

Please forgive your wife and let peace reign. She needs more of your presence now, not just money. The issue of 'who buried placenta' shouldn't be the reason for a divorce. God bless you!

1) it may sound so cliche if I tell you you're ok just the way you are. But the truth is, you're ok just the way you are.

2) See, even if you must add weight, don't ever try to use drugs. the side effect is something you may live to regret. I'm saying this from experience.

3) worrying about gaining weight will make you lose weight the more. Why not relax and give your body time, you're just 20!

4) see, if President Buhari with all the money that he has is still skinny, why do you want to kill yourself? Think about it!
