Back in the days, there was hardly a compound in the village you’ll enter that hadn’t this traditional ancestral setup (just like you see Dstv dish and Gotv antenna in most compounds of modern settings this days)😂.
What did it really represent and why is it hardly seen in recent times.

Education › Any School Owner Who Pays Her Staff Below The Minimum Wage Is Wicked. by Malista(op): 9:13am On Jul 25, 2024 |
Considering the economic downturn, the inflation and hardship meted out resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy, and the subsequent approval of 70k minimum wage by the federal government, any School Owner who pays below this figure is wicked, evil, callous and insensitive. I'm most concerned about this private sector because I am also a victim of same circumstance. They are known for exploiting their staff by overworking them and paying peanuts. At Times, you feel like being a teacher in a private sch in Nigeria is a curse. The sch overworks you, the parents of these learners are also not helping. If I narrate my plight here, I may cry. You will hardly find a private sch that pays up to 40k these days. I can't even go into a serious relationship with any lady because I don't want to be financially embarrassed. As an adult who lives alone, you're expected to Pay your rent, feed, transport and help your family from that meagre amount. It's sad. Personally, I have passion for teaching. The school I teach currently is the 9th sch since I started teaching in the year 2012. I have lots of experiences in this profession, but due to my environment, I haven't had the opportunity of teaching in a sch where I can get good pay.
Teachers are humans. They also provide essential services. As such, they should be adequately and sufficiently renumerated. Govt must do something about this. |

franchasofficia: We need at least 5 million Nigerian youths with your mindset.
The unfortunate thing is, we have over 60million Nigerian youths whose condition today are worst than your own but they prefer to die out of starvation and some prefer to commit suicide instead of using their ordeal and pains to help Nigeria by deleting a key politician along or instigating a revolution so their name can be written in the sands of time like yours is about to Some nairalanders may think I am joking. I'm very serious about this honestly. If I can be able to shoot Tinubu and he dies, but I later got arrested and I am also killed, I would die a happy man |

sreamsense: Why I sympathize with you if your story is true, I also wish to tell you your case is not the worst. Don't relent, try once more till you get it. Don't give up! However, if nobody encourages you, try to encourage yourself and move on once more with another trial. However, if your story is not totally true and laziness is what put you into making that hasty and noughty decision of self-inflicting suicide especially since your only solace is to join protest with aim of being killed, then; instead of wasting your life just for nothing, why not donate yourself to ipob?
Ekpa and ipob kill every week for futureless Biafra fun, donate yourself to them voluntarily. No need to hang your killing on Nigerian police. Joining protest is never solution to your situation, go for 2-3days fasting with sincerity of your heart to your maker via Christ channel, he will surely show you your way out. Give it a trial, don't be in haste or try to run faster than your destiny, God's direction may not be faster than you expect, but it always end up as the best channel. God will shower His mercies on you, try Jesus with sincerity and get direction for your life to avoid trial and error Can we talk privately pls? |

jimetagambo: Brave man. If you protest peacefully, no one will shoot at you.
Unfortunately, in Nigeria, if you get shot, nothing like being a matter except you are a Isis or Boko Haram. Nobody remembers the name of those shot in past protests that turned into riot.
Be safe out there. Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏 |

By the special Grace of the Almighty God, I can beat my chest and tell you that I'll be a part of the potential nationwide protest come August 1st. I have never in my entire existence joined any protest before, but this time, I will.
The hardship in this country is terrible. It is saddening and disheartening, to say the least. Nigeria, currently isn't friendly to the poor and the havenots. Right from age 9 when I lost my parents till date, I have never had it easy in life. At times, I feel like God hates me and doesn't want me to be financially successful in life. Everything about my life is all struggle struggle and struggle. Relatives took advantage of my predicament and showed me shege while I lived with them. As I am right now, nothing about life shakes me anymore. I'm no longer scared of death cos I've seen a lot in this life. I don't care if the police shoots at any protester. Even if I get killed while protesting, I'll be happy to have been matyred for the salvation of Nigerians. I believe everything is an sacrifice. One must die for others to live, and if I be the one to die, then so be it. After all, what is life when you don't know where your next meal is coming from? When u don't have a family to lean on? When you're not loved and cared for? |

Well i believe na Saraaa money he is giving them. If me sef see i go collect my own because na my entitlement wey dem don hold all this while. This time around it won't be business as usual. I'm coming out with my full chest to protest, if I die, I die. Nigeria isn't even nice to the poor at this point in time |
