thanks bro. I really appreciate your reply. I've done a little research that why I've narrowed my research to maritime colleges. I so much have passion for maritime work, google led me to Australian Maritime College (AMC) under University of Tasmania. I've sent a mail to the Uni,they are yet to reply. I'm a total novice to Australian student thread and that's why I requested for visa processing stages and range of NAIRA that will be needed

Check out teleperformance. The site should tell you how much u will pay for ur visa application. For the medicals it ranges from 30-50k depending on what type of test you are going to do and also where the test will be done. Abj or Lagos. For the school the fees are on their site. For health insurance check oshcaustralia.com use bupa insurance itits cheaper.

School that suites ur budget holla and we can point out if its a bargain or rip off or its not value for money or Just a waste of time or help you review it in terms of PR and job prospects. General rule of thumb is to school in regional area where u can get 5 immigration points when applying for PR. Bottomline Just get down to searhing bruv.

Its under svp...BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION...I have been teaching for more than 6years now ,i attached all the recommendation from my working place in my visa application.

I can send the refusal letter to u

Sorry pls don't mind my interjection. I don't think u meet the GTE. U said u have been teaching for 6yrs. And yet ur applying for a bachelors!! No 2 ur not applying from ur country so what are d odds u want to change base to their country and not return to yours?? In my own opinion u r more suited to apply straight for PR. Student visa route is just a waste of ur time. By the way which country were u applying from??

I got social visa on 21st January; though it wasn't easy at all. The High Commission is not organized at all. I was the first to be granted social visa instead to transit visa. The man in charge of collecting the documents didn't know anything about transit visa. He had to enquire about it from the consular officer and I was told they don't grant transit visa but I would be given a social visa. Meanwhile, I sent them series of emails long before I got my OZ visa on Nov. 20th and few days prior to my arrival at ABJ enquiring about transit visa and its requirements and I didn't get any negative feedback. But, after waiting for 4 days, I got a call from them requesting for NDLEA clearance certificate and bank account statement. It was very devastating. I had to send explanatory emails, more documents, banks statements but the consular officer refused to grant it for a flimsy reason that my offer letter is not same as admission letter. I had to send another explanatory email, prayed seriously and an insider talked to the consular officer of my genuineness. I got the visa the next day. I must confess getting it was tougher than getting OZ visa. There was a guy that submitted 4 days after me that experienced delays too although it was because of him that I was asked to provide more documents (ie admission letter & COE) cos he submitted them and I didn't.
I would suggest that anyone intending to go through this route shouldn't give it a try cos u might risk losing alot of money if the visa is not granted; use Qatar airways instead (Qatar airways services is truly 5 stars yet very affordable). The High Commission decided to stop issuing out the visa because of the increase in number of applications that came in after I got the grant. I was the only black person at KLIA2 all through the hours I spent at the airport and I was the only black on board AirAsia, the malaysian guys were of huge assistance in helping me with my trolley and directions.

PS. I am a lady.

Did u have any issues going through immigration?? My friend who followed the route said they were harrasing people entering the country. He said they were asking them for how much they had in USD and that they required minimum 1500. Any ways all he did was tell them he had a connecting flight to Australia and they let him and his wife through. Did u have any issues??

Okay. I have been following this thread for a while now. I always come here to read 'good news' from pple to encourage myself. Lol.

It's time to post mine now. My grant for 573 visa came in today. I applied on the 30th of Jan. I did my medicals a week b4 that day. Met a guy at the clinic applying for Griffin Uni. He did his medicals that day and applied for the visa that same day. He got his grant last week.

Curtin Uni, here I come. Thanks to malkinburg, larryjayz and every other person on this thread.

Congrats man. Still the pet Eng or ur gonna switch to Minning where d money @ lol. Let's stay intouch when u get to oz. Leaving on the 19th. Hurry and buy ur ticket. Dollar is running riot already. Qatar or etihad to Perth are ur best options since school resumes feb23. If u choose Qatar for 19th we will be on the same flight lol. Cheers bro and congrats one more time

Malkinburg. I mean a materials and metallurgical technician not a technologist that was what VETASSESS said oh! By the way, what is ur take on technician? I was told even if one gets the PR status and wants to study there for his Masters, he has to pay the full amount no subsidy(thanks UKbtech sp!)

@ All
By the way when one gets the PR, what is the longest he can delay relocating b4 the visa expires? Also if one has a family? How long for the family?

no subsidy ooh Bros not even 87naira unless u get scholarship and that depend on ur accademic achievement. We wey like hussle Na God be our anchor. Just chill and get in. If u can't find a way u make one.

I received a negative outcome on my engineering position, however, I was told it was suitable for a technician. I am thinking out loud, all. Should go for assessing as a technician?

I want to ask if one gets the PR, can one study in Australia, as a domestic candidate and a reduced fee? for a Masters Degree?

Abeg all help me oh, bellong, bossymolady and UBkTech, equilibrium and all, pls advice

Do you mean u were accessed as engineering technologist If so u don't have any beef apply and when u get a masters in oz u will av ur professional engineer status

When apply to UC without an agent do you fill a genuine entrant form for those who didn't use an agent? Because in my case I didn't fill it and I wasn't asked to... So am wondering why they assessed me without a GTE? And made all those decision. Even after asking me to send them my offer declaration so my COE can be prossessed? Am totally confused.
Something went wrong somewhere. Either u did something out of place or ur previous record or misunderatanding with the previous agents have come to hunt u. Getting into University of canberra is pretty easy conpared to other schools in oz i have cone across . the only question i will ask is WHERE U AWARE OF A GTE FORM WHEN U APPLIED?? Does guys no be mumu u probably did something without knowing it seems.

Anyone who can guarantee a visa to australia should contact me remmyflex@yahoo.com

I think your going about it the wrong way. All the info u need to get a visa without giving an agent a single penny is here. Ur just inviting scammers into ur life. No body can guarantee u a visa. If ur doubt ur papers or ur circumstance is complicated then u can go look for a registered MARA agent "www.mara.gov.au" to relate with the embassy on your behalf. They too can only enhance ur chances. If else do it urself its ABC. Avoid scammers at all cost.

My brothers who have gotten positive assessment from engineers australia I need some assistance in figuring out how to go about my circumstance.

I have a first degree in chemical engineering. Since then I have only worked in environmental engineering related roles in a private setting. Now I intend to continue with masters in environmental Eng this Feb at Griffith uni. In my CDR competency demonstration report do I focus on chemical Eng role or env Eng role in my three career episodes as I intend to switch. PS I will be applying as an environmental engineer when the time comes. Please advice. I need to start early, PR on my mind

Wow...this thread is so informative...australia is my dream country...am just being held back by my education in naija...after graduating am porting...I don't want to go through wat my elder ones went through searching for imaginary jobs...pls my questions are
1: do the they give up to 4yrs work permit visas and
2: can anyone give me an estimate of wat it would cost me to tidy the whole visa ish from scratch if I do it myself...I would really appreciate ur response buddies...and for the records I REGRET EVER BEEN BORN IN NIGERIA....I want a fresh start else where....

Naija is our motherland. Abeg no regret being born here Lol. Some people out there don't know and appreciate what they are enjoying. To them its normal and thats how it should be. Back to ur questions. Q1 Yea they do give 4 yrs work permit visa its called a 457 visa. U can get it if u have a job. Ur minimum salary should be @ about 55k aud I am not so sure. U get the visa after ur post work study expires and your employers are willing to sponsor you. Post work study lasts for 3 to 4 yrs generally.
Q2 go to teleperformance website. U will get details on what the visa costs to obtain. As per ur school fees and all that school website. As for health insuarnce please avoid alliance. Its cutlass. Use bupa instead. If u want to understand every read this thread from page 1 and take notes on where the info affects u. Trust me no agent can give u the info this thread has. Am sure they even come here for reference lol. If u need more clarrification we are always on here.

Cheers

lemi tell you my story
young engineering grad who could not find an engineering gig, since I was good with number, I took this finance analyst role when it came up and you know what I have learnt?
Me, my colleagues, we are all petrified of loosing this job! After 8years, you want more! More in earnings, more in responsibilities, more in life experiences, just more! But you can hardly get that here! Everyone says how lucky you are to even have the one you do.
So this colleague of mine, real smart dude thinks his certificates will sell him in Nigeria, he starts to antagonise the boss, thinks with his wealth of experience and masters degree, another job was just waiting to be had. Anyways, boss engineers his sack. Two/three years ago. No job. Wife's left him, landlord's left him, car's left him, where are the vacancies man!
Like you said man, loosing your job on these shores is a nightmare situation. Ofcos you can lose a job anywhere in the world, but the ability to find something that gives you something akin to the dignity you had before, it could be a pipe dream here man!

So I leave! Now! On my own terms!
If Nigeria gets better, all of us leaving now will return! And take your jobs from you! Cos we shall be better qualified, and better exposed! If it doesn't, well screw all of you that stayed men!
Australia isn't our home land, if somewhere else is better tomorrow, that is where we will go, that is what it means to have a worldview.
This world is your home, go where its happening and you will be appreciated.

Well spoken. Lemme add a little just to buttress my view. My elder bro left his bank job because he knkew there wasnt a future. He was lucky to leave before the banking sunami hit us. He went abroad did his masters in chem engr. I told him not to come back he still came. After doing plenty interviews shell chevron slumberger bla bla bla he landed a gig as an engr for 50k salary. He babe left him when she got tired of hearing it will be well. Thank God at least now he has a gig he makes 750k a month. His friend that was lucky to land a oil& gas gig with Haliburton as a technician. Imagine the insult to his masters in Eng. My younger brother came back a year ago from d us. Went to study airaircraft maintenance technology in florida he is still roasting. Working for free right now so he can gather experience and port eventually, meanwhile his friend who didn't come back is clocking 14months work experience. He had the opportunity to stay back like his friend but wanted to come home. Yes labour market is tough bla bla but trust me I don't have to know anybody to get a good gig abroad. The system works. U can get fullfilment to a certain respect. You might not hit one awoaf contract but you will have your human dignity intact. Mid life crises is less heartless abroad. U can re-engineer urslf and move on with life. Inflation isn't as bad. With sensible planning u can achieve alot. Not everybody is that lucky in niaja. There simply insnt enough space and the competition is becoming more viscious. I rather try and fail out there than languish here. For me going to oz is a carefully planned move. Not like am desperate but I need fresh air. Am tired of the Nigerian jungle.

my questions are: is it possible to issue 3years working permit foelr someone in nigeria and come over to work with it?
Secondly , can someone comfirm any visa status in nigeria may be through site to just verify if is valid or fake visa?.
