Having thought long and hard about this, I realise the error of this post. I apologise for some of the accusations I made on this post, particularly the one about rapist tendencies. It was spurious, ill thought-out and careless, especially considering the weight of such an accusation.

So you people think that consent is only for sex. Consent is for everything. From sex to relationships to physical contact to properties, it is for everything.

But back to the discussion,did Erica ever say No to the toasting though? Did she ever say, Laycon I am not feeling this and would like you to stop?This is the problem that we talked about last week. The need for her to be clear that she does not want his attention. Saying things like I am mentally attracted to A and physically attracted to B means that there is still a chance.

Personally, I felt Erica was not attracted AT ALL to Lekan but did not want to hurt him by saying an outright no. If Erica never asked the guy to stop, then consent is not an issue here.

So, as much as we sensitise the need for people to respect NO, we might need to also sensitise people to say NO...

Laycon never insinuated rape AT ALL with that statement. Anyone without an agenda and/or sentiment knows what Laycon meant was if he applies pressure, Erica will fall for him (e go enter). This can be further confirmed with Praise telling him that "even if Kiddwaya wasn't in the picture, she wouldn't have agreed for you (him), trust me."

Imagine Laycon saying that if "he put pressure, he go enter" and this boils down to consent. When a girl says no, there's no need to push pressure at all, at all. Consent is key and necessary.
